“Phenomenal food. Ordered the soba noodles soup, spicy salmon rolls, and some various tempura. Food all tasted very fresh. However, it is on the pricier end and the portions could be a little larger.

The service is great too! They check in on you just enough to make sure you are good but not so much as they do in most typical restaurants. Excellent ambience and experience overall.“

“Lovely spot if you enjoy a quiet place for tasty sushi. The sashimi was delicious and the rolls didn’t disappoint. Price is on the higher side for the portion but in line with most other Japanese restaurants. You’d also have to order and pay first at the counter before the food is delivered to your table. “Everything was fantastic. Hadn't visited since the pandemic, and I was incredibly satisfied with the quality and service. The unagi nigiri and chutoro were the highlights of the meal, in addition to the chef's choice sashimi and nigiri plates. Sushi Hachi has been in my top 3 for 15+ years.“

The food was super tasty, and for the quality, the prices felt really reasonable. The staff were also really friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better.

There are a lot of items on the menu, so it did take me a bit to decide, but I actually appreciated that the portions weren’t too big because it meant we could try a bunch of different dishes.

Highlights for me:
• The blue fin sesame tataki — so tender, it honestly felt like it melted in my mouth.
• The cooked beef short ribs — great flavor, and even the daikon that came with it was surprisingly good!
• The aburi toro saba — delicious with really nice attention to detail.
• The unagi don — bigger portion than we expected, but every bite was awesome.

“Lovely little Japanese place hidden away. Kind and friendly staff. Quick service. Clean kitchen and sesting area.

Hubby and I ordered 2 Asahi, 1 spicy salmon roll, and salmon oshi.

One negative would be the washrooms. They were clean but they looked very old. No hook to hang a jacket.“

“A nice local family run business. Very welcoming customer service when you walk in. Service was very friendly and the entrees we had were good. You can't beat the quality, price and the good service. One of the few places in Richmond that, does not nickle and dime you by charging for containers either. They accept cash and also debit, which is nice.“

It was nice but nothing spectacular… I just wanted to sample the crab. The salmon sashimi and teriyaki chicken bento box looked quite appetizing. The pear dessert was ice cream shaped like a pear then dipped in chocolate.“

“Parents frequent here more than a few times per month, but mostly because they like the bit oily stir fry items on the menu.

The Korean spin on the recipes of certain sushi combos are interesting, but nowadays they come so heavily sauced to a point where I have trouble distinguishing the ingredients.

The sushi and sashimi isn't altogether too fresh, sometimes they come still with bits not thawed out. A few times my entire tray of tuna sashimi combo was served frozen.

Since 2022, you'd start to notice that the portions are alot smaller, and the cost cutting have become really visible. Especially more noticeable on takeaway items, based on more than 20 times taking out in recent years, just don't do takeout.“

The quality is equally good in comparison to the other locations.
