“Kun is one of the best sushi places we’ve been to in the lower mainland! It’s a hidden gem that’s tucked away.

. We had the salmon oshi, spicy tuna roll, Sunset roll and spicy chopped scallop roll. Everything was great, including the matcha (green) tea!

. The waitress was friendly, attentive and had great knowledge of the menu.

Atmosphere: it was full when we went on a Friday night. Reservations are recommended for Friday nights and weekends but we were lucky to get a table while walking in.“

I also love that they have fresh and thick cut sashimi, high quality fish, and each dish has lots of flavour! The staff are very friendly, who offered excellent, and quick service! “My wife and I have eaten here frequently over the last 8 years or so. Despite likely changes in ownership the food has remained very good overall. Fish quality seems quite high and fresh. Their rolls are creative and there is an exhaustive menu of choices. Udon is comforting and their bentos are pretty good value with big portions. I often get the steveston Bento and it is ALOT of food but always very satiating. The last visit we had to the Richmond location was in early November 2025 and it was still very good. Will continue going here on our trips to the west coast.“

“Good food, although a little high priced. The atmosphere is warm but the restaurant seating area is extremely restricted and very small. It was not too busy so it was not a problem. But something to be aware of. They would not be able to accommodate a large group.“

“Ordered seafood salad and my gf loved it. Ordered a chicken teriyaki box for myself and the chicken came as fried. Weird. Never had teriyaki chicken this style before but I guess this might be a fusion attempt or something g. Just not used to it.“

“Since hubby misses Japan (the food especially) immensely, I decided to bring Japan to him for his birthday! It was more than we could've hoped for from the gracious hosts, Chef Ray and wife Christine, to the gorgeous presentation of each course, the preparations of each item, the texture, the taste and the cosy atmosphere. We savoured each bite, while enjoying the friendly banter between the hosts and a couple of their regulars at the bar seating. Highly recommend! side note: I was impressed by just how meticulous and thoughtful they are when I saw they even put a little decor under the washroom sink.“

“We love this Japanese restaurant for the high food quality, high staff quality, reasonable prices in today's market & location! Today, I tried the Nigiri Lunch and loved it! My husband had the double meat chicken teriyaki and some of mine cause it looked so tasty, and it truly was scrumptious ! We started with the Crae crae roll (shared). In my Nigiri lunch, I upgraded the salmon to sockeye, one dollar more, but worth it! The miso soup was perfect for us as we watch our sodium and they only use low sodium soya sauce! The combination of food, service & cost is why they get 5 stars! Any staff we saw were very friendly & said hello & goodbye. Customer service is top notch! Aside note, their green tea is one of the best we've enjoyed, too!“

“I had the Dynamite Bento at Ora Sushi and everything was so tasty 🤤! The teriyaki beef was delicious, and the rolls with the fried prawns 🍤 were packed with flavor. The staff was super friendly and kind, which made the experience even better. Totally worth it — I’m definitely coming back!“

“The chicken sashimi bento box includes a piece of chicken karaage and four tempuras, of which two are shrimp. $21.50 as of April 15, 2025. No discount for lunch.

Everything was a cut above the usual bento boxes. Tempuras and karaage were crispy but not greasy. Cabbage separated the BBQ chicken from the rice - a nice touch. Sashimi pieces were thick and firm.

Decor is well kept; place is clean. It’s not Tojo nor Miku, but then, neither are the prices. Recommended.“

“first time here for AYCE lunch, I find the place very clean, and staff friendly. Food is overall very good, I like the sushi, sashimi, BC rolls, salad, chicken teriyaki, futomaki, tempura, and ice cream. The miss are sunomono too sweet lack vinegar, goma salad too salty, and that thirsty feeling from MSG (which I have no idea from which items). Yes I will go back again :)“
