“We went to ASA sushi last year at the end of the day during the Canada Day long weekend. It was a delightful surprise! We’re visiting the city, and it was definitely the freshest and most delicious sashimi I’ve ever had. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. I always say that I want to go back someday when I’m in Vancouver again.“

“WOW, i cannot believe this spot i just discovered. The sushi was so fresh. The fish ball soup was so comforting. The best of the meal is the CREAMY UDON. I can literally have two of it for myself. Aaa unfortunately i haven’t tried their alcohol menu yet. Overall, i love this place.🫰🏻🫰🏻☺️☺️“

“We had an amazing experience at Sushi Jin! It was my boyfriend’s birthday today, and we made a reservation in advance for their omakase. Both the chef and his wife were incredibly warm and friendly, which made the evening even more special. The ingredients were super fresh, and everything tasted delicious. We especially loved their wasabi and homemade ginger — such a nice touch! It was also a pleasure to watch the chef carefully prepare each dish — truly a beautiful and enjoyable experience. Since they only serve six guests at a time, it’s really quiet and private, which made it feel even more special. Highly recommend!“

“This is the best value sushi I’ve tried in Vancouver. The fish is fresh with generous portions, and the service is quick and attentive. My favourite is how big the sashimi portions are! The indoor seating is quite small so it’s best to eat-in during lunch or order takeout.“

“We googled and found this place. First timer to try this sushi place.
The Sashimi is very fresh and delicious! We ordered tempura, udon, grill mackerel, sushi roll…everything tastes really good.
It’s a small and busy restaurant. Service is great. In house Customers and online orders were nonstop while our visit for dinner. We’re so glad to find this new favourite restaurant in this neighborhood.
Parking could be challenging during dinner hours. Drive safely as this area has many pedestrians crossing road anywhere they like.“

“Wonderful sushi. They had Uni Nigiri at a very reasonable price. Saba Nigiri had Yuzu leaves on the top (not just green onion pieces) - that was a nice touch. Also real crab meat California Roll was very tasty. In addition, each piece of Nigiri sushi had a bit of wasabi underneath. That was excellent. I love this sushi spot. I will be returning.“

“Great sushi, very flavorful, fresh seafood, and lots of variety from traditional temaki to modern aburi styles. Single sushi chef so larger orders may take longer but the wait is worth it. Spicy sauce is on the sweeter side so can be enjoyed by all ages.“

“Such a positive experience! We were traveling with a 6 month old who was very fussy this day. The staff were so kind and reassuring, even trying to cheer him up. Our food was delicious - so so fresh, and the prices you cannot beat for this level of high quality sushi.“
“There’s a new Korean-Japanese restaurant on Davie Street with a simple and focused menu. They prepare their sushi and inari fresh in the kitchen, sticking to straightforward options like salmon, shrimp, beef, crab, and egg. The idea is easy but the execution is clean, and their packaging and design really make them stand out. One thing I like is how they handle inventory. From 8 pm to 10 pm they discount whatever is left by 20% and reset everything the next day. It’s efficient and gives customers a good deal late in the evening. Overall I enjoy their concept and think they bring healthy competition to Davie Street, especially for places like Sushi Society.“

“Where do I even begin. This experience was just that…an experience. Every single detail of our meal was meticulously thought out and considered. Chef Lee loves his craft and his passion for quality shows. From the moment you walk through the door it’s clear the night is one to remember.
Lee’s also assisted by his wonderful wife only making the experience that much better. It felt more like we’ve been invited to dinner at their home than at a restaurant.
Every ingredient, plate, cup and detail imaginable was carefully selected. You’re truly paying to watch someone prepare food they love and it last felt in each bite.
I haven’t left this wow’s after a meal in a long time and the recognition chef Lee and his team have gotten is well deserved.
We’ll definitely be returning again as the season changes to experience this again…CANT WAIT!!!“

“Joon’s Kitchen is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we tried had that perfect balance of taste and presentation, showing real care and passion in the cooking.
On top of the great food, the service was warm, attentive, and genuine. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and their hospitality added so much to the experience.
Whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal or a special gathering, Joon’s Kitchen is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended!“

“We got the teriyaki boxes, and everything was amazing! The chicken was tender and flavorful on a fresh bed of lettuce and bean sprouts, with crispy spring rolls, a citrusy salad, flaky tempura, a delicious roll (we had Dynamite and California), and warm miso soup. Everything was fresh, tasty, and made with care. Great service too! Definitely a new favorite on Renfrew!“

“From the moment you walk into this restaurant, you can feel the heart and soul behind it. It’s not just a place to eat sushi — it’s a reflection of a life’s work. The owner, who is also the sushi chef, has poured himself into every detail: from the way each roll is prepared to the way the restaurant is decorated. You can tell that everything here has meaning.
The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and deeply personal. Every piece of decor feels like a story — a timeline of the chef’s passion and dedication to his craft. You can sense that this isn’t just a restaurant, it’s his art studio, his life, and his heart on display.
And then there’s the sushi — absolutely incredible. The fish is fresh, the rice perfectly seasoned, and the presentation thoughtful in a way that makes you pause before taking a bite. Each plate feels handcrafted, not just made.
What truly makes this place special, though, is the feeling. The service is warm and genuine, the chef takes pride in connecting with guests, and by the end of your meal, you feel like you’ve been invited into his world. It’s the kind of place that puts a smile on your face and makes you wish you could stay longer — not just because the food is amazing, but because of the people behind it.
This isn’t just sushi; it’s a story, an experience, and a reminder of what passion looks like when it’s shared. I left inspired, grateful — and already planning my next visit.“

“After hearing about this place, I’ve wanted to visit, and I finally had the chance to do so. The owner and staff greeted me warmly, which made me feel comfortable.
The Miso Soup wasn’t too salty, which I liked, and the dressing on the fried chicken and vegetables complemented the dish really well, making it delicious.
The Salmon Aburi melted in my mouth as soon as I took a bite. It was so tender and flavorful.
Next time, I’d like to try the CUPBOP.
A note: The sign is small, so you might miss it if you’re not paying attention. It’s a good idea to keep your eyes open and look carefully when you’re nearby.“

“Sushi dragon is one of the last laid back, comfy fast affordable and GOOD sushi spots in van. I find usually I have to go to fancier places these days to get a good roll, however sushi dragon feels like old Vancouver sushi spots are still alive! They are a local family watering whole in the city and the quality is just as good as it was 5 years ago.“

“This is a very standard sushi place with limited seating, maybe enough for around fifteen people. The staff were friendly and the food was okay. We were driving from Richmond to downtown and were really hungry, so we decided to stop here. My cousin had just helped me with my move and I wanted to thank him by paying for lunch. The sushi itself wasn’t anything special and the bill felt high for what we got, but the moment was still memorable because of the day we were having.“

“Volcano Sushi and Grill is hands down one of the best places to eat if you love high-quality, flavorful food and great service. Everything I’ve tried has been incredibly fresh, from the sushi rolls to the grilled dishes, and the presentation always looks amazing. The sushi is generously portioned, well-balanced, and clearly made with care, while the grill items are cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. On top of that, the staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which makes the whole experience feel comfortable and enjoyable from start to finish. The service is fast without feeling rushed, the restaurant is clean and well-kept, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed but still feels special. Whether you’re going for a casual meal, a night out with friends, or a family dinner, Volcano Sushi and Grill never disappoints and consistently delivers great food and an excellent dining experience.“

“Great sushi! the price is reasonable and the portions are big. I enjoy the unagi roll and sashimi and the favorite of my family is yaki udon. The waitresses always remember that my daughter likes tempura sauce for her sashimi and brings it without us asking for it.“

“We have lived in this area for 25yrs and never tried out Dami....don't know why. Maybe because nobody we know recommends it here. Glad we came out on a Saturday for lunch on a rainy day because my eldest daughter was craving for Korean seafood pancake.
The seafood pancake is thick and looks like pizza hut pizza! If you like crunchy and fluffy dough then this is good. The best value for your money is the chicken katsu and chicken don rice bowls. Very tasty and lots of chicken!
The sushi rolls are priced well too. Mow we have an extra place to go for food near by. Convenience is nice when going out with 6 ppl. Very spacious inside and they play Japanese music.
Our meal for 6 of us only came to $79 + tip!? And we had take out....I spend that much sometimes having lunch meetings fir 2 ppl. We will be back!“

“Pleasantly surprised at this accidental find when the place we were planning to go to was closed! Cozy space with tasty fresh food that was beautifully presented with good value and generous portions (had lots of leftovers). Highlights were the chicken karaage, which was super tender/moist (like Korean style) and the melt in your mouth fresh sockeye salmon sashimi. The pumpkin croquettes were perfectly crisp, but the pumpkin spice flavour was unexpected and while not unpleasant, a bit too dessert-like for my preference. Service was also outstanding... another pleasant surprise as it seems hit & miss elsewhere these days. Will definitely be back!“

“I learned so much about caring for infants here; it's such a welcoming, warm, and safe place to hang out with your friends and talk about what really matters in life.

“The best rainbow roll in town. It is their sushi rice that really makes a difference. It is a tiny little place, but the service is always good, and their food is top notch. In my book, this is the most authentic and best Japanese restaurant that I have been to. Thank you, Hitoe, for my weekly delicious rainbow roll!“

“Great little spot for an elevated sushi experience. It’s a very small restaurant so make a reso. The attentive but non-disruptive service is appreciated, as the tables are quite small so the tidying is a nice touch. The prices are not cheap, for example, my nigiri set was $65. Pay street parking is available so arrive early for your reso to snag a spot nearby.“

“We had a lunch at Momo Sushi House, great atmosphere, you can see the chef cooking.
The miso soup as well as the gyoza and box C were really good, fair price, also took on top of that some chicken rolls, a bit disappointed about it, no flavor.
Small bad point, there is no washroom in the restaurant.“
