“This place is tucked away on Park Street and is definitely a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves no-frills Chinese food. The atmosphere is quiet and casual, making it a comfortable spot for a low-key meal.
One of the must-haves to order here is the cucumber salad. We also tried the zhajiangmian and the braised pork over rice bowl, both of which were very tasty with a lot of flavor. What I appreciated most was the portion sizes; they're satisfying without leaving you overly full.
The service was really good, with staff who are very helpful in guiding you through the menu. The restaurant recently changed ownership, which seems to have improved the overall experience.
The pricing is very affordable, especially given how expensive eating out has become these days – this place offers the best value. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a tasty and affordable meal while craving Chinese food.
A few things to note: street parking is the easiest option in the neighborhood“

“Reasonably priced tasty dinner of Shanghai Soup Dumplings, Sweet fried chicken wings, and beef stew noodle soup. Delicate XLB and juicy. Wings were crunchy, meaty, and lightly battered and fried. It’s one of our “go to places” for Chinese food in Alameda. Small local neighborhood place with nice service.“

“The food is great. Bring this to-go to someone born in Shanghai 90 years ago. He says it’s the only food that tastes like what he remembers.
The team is very attentive and thoughtful. Very accommodating of vegetarian requests. This is more of a to-go place than eat in. Highly recommend.“

“Was looking for a place to eat on my birthday new years day, my stepbro picked it out, he said he ate there 20 yrs ago, I was reluctant as it looked outdated and empty, but I was surprised when the food came in quickly, the staff was friendly and the plates of food were huge! I kept asking my bro if he accidentally ordered family size, nope. We ordered egg rolls, 1 order must have had 10 pieces! Delicious spare ribs, wonton soup, honey walnut prawns (jumbo!) Mongolian beef, they gave us almond cookies instead of fortune, that was a nice change, there was so much food leftover to take home, I'll be going back, I don't know how they can afford to give so much for so little $, very reasonable.the only thing was the place was so cold, we were both freezing. no heat!“

“The first thing I liked about China Villa was the location. Right by the water it was just soothing. Next was their Chinese decoration. It brings out a calm earthy atmosphere. Then the food and the price. The food was delicious. The veggies were perfectly cooked not soggy or hard just firm and delicious perfectly seasoned. And for all that dining experience surprisingly they kept the price reasonable.“

“5/5. Came here for late night food pick up. I was greeted promptly and the gentlemen took my order. I could understand his English perfect (not sure why other reviewers say they can’t?) Food is definition of local Chinese gem. Mongolian beef, Orange chicken & Bbq fried rice was gas. If you’re an orange chicken snob you’ll probably not go anywhere else after“

“We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we found this delicious restaurant which friends told us about. We enjoyed a lovely time there with superb dishes and a professional stuff and a great cuisine. We put this restaurant in our phone list and we shall definitely go again very soon. Highly recommended.“

“I've been coming here a for a year or two and it's never failed to disappoint! There is a bit of a wait to get seated but the staff are quick and friendly, plus they are used to accommodating large parties of people. It is a bit expensive, but the food is absolutely delicious! My plus 2's and I ordered a lot of food; I recommend trying the House Special Siu Mai. They're really big and it tastes good as well! They also serve tea and complimentary spicy sauce. The only downsides are the staff used to be slightly rude (however this problem was fixed a few months back), it's very chatty and noisy, it's hard to find parking especially during rush hour or on weekends, and you might also have to wait. Generally, for a group of 3 people you have to wait around ten to 15 minutes during rush hour. However, despite these, I recommend going to this place! The food is really good and I can't wait to go back!“

“Food is always good and consistently made to taste each and everytime we order a dish we've had during a previous visit. The owner is very nice and is always busy at work either helping up front or assisting in the back. The pot stickers are the big juicy hand made kind, with quality ingredients. It's surprisingly hard to find a good quality one that's not solely at a dim sum restaurant lately.“

“I could definitely say Gim’s is my favorite to-go restaurant in the whole of Bay Area and that says a lot!! Everything is really good but my favorite is the sweet & sour pork over rice. Lunch menu is cheaper so it’s better to order around that time. Now they have knick-knacks on the side available to purchase. Definitely will keep coming back to this hidden gem in Alameda! 😋👍🏼“
