“Overall 6/10 (where 5 is average and 10 is the best meal I've ever had)
I got the Pickled Vegetables and Shredded Pork soup noodles and a Fried Tofu. Unfortunately the grill wasn't on for skewers (I dined early before dinner rush).
Pickled Vegetables and Shredded Pork soup noodles
- Broth wasn't that flavorful and looked and tasted a little like boiled dumpling water (which isn't necessarily bad). There was a lot of sesame oil and was too salty
- Noodle texture was the saving quality. Great chew.
Fried Tofu
- There was a lot of tofu in each piece which was great.
- It wasn't seasoned well. Quite plain; there was a sort of sweet soy oil at the bottom of the plate but being that it's fried tofu, it wasn't a great mix.“

“Was looking for a place to eat on my birthday new years day, my stepbro picked it out, he said he ate there 20 yrs ago, I was reluctant as it looked outdated and empty, but I was surprised when the food came in quickly, the staff was friendly and the plates of food were huge! I kept asking my bro if he accidentally ordered family size, nope. We ordered egg rolls, 1 order must have had 10 pieces! Delicious spare ribs, wonton soup, honey walnut prawns (jumbo!) Mongolian beef, they gave us almond cookies instead of fortune, that was a nice change, there was so much food leftover to take home, I'll be going back, I don't know how they can afford to give so much for so little $, very reasonable.the only thing was the place was so cold, we were both freezing. no heat!“

“This spot is walking distance from me, so on the days I feel lazy it’s affordable and the menu has healthy options.
3 stars because the quality could be better. I usually like to order a lunch special - the soups could be more generous with the egg drop. Also every now and then I bite into an egg shell in my egg fried rice - I get it happens sometimes with cooking eggs esp if they’re moving fast but not the most pleasant thing to experience when you’re eating. The service is friendly, and they pack the meal nicely to go.“

“Judging by its name you can't really tell what kind of Chinese food Ark Chinese restaurant offers. I think it was probably a noodle restaurant focusing on items from northern China. However it seems that the new owners have hired a cook that can also make Cantonese dishes. As a result the menu is more extensive and there are quite a few selections to choose from.
We ordered the pan fried green onion pancake, hand pulled beef noodle soup, tomato beef chow mein, beef stew noodles and sweet sour ribs. All were fairly good but I should note that the flavors were quite intense...as in too much salt or too much sugar. If you do pay a visit, keep that in mind. You may want to tell them to cut back on the salt and spices.
More importantly the prices are quite reasonable for a restaurant on Park Street in Alameda. Entrees, dinner items, generally run around 15 dollars or so.
The decor is ho-hum but the dining room is certainly quiet....perhaps too quiet , or maybe we were there too early. They could use some flowers or some paintings to liven up the place. Maybe play some K pop or something. The wait staff are friendly and helpful though.
if you're looking for an inexpensive place to eat before you see a movie or just in the area, give Ark Chinese restaurant a try. The food might assault your taste buds but the prices won't assault your wallet.“

“If they would stop using MSG in their food, I'd be a frequent customer.“

“It's a bit too noisy. It could be because the day I went was Saturday. Everybody went to get dim sum. Fast service. A lot of variety. Courtesy, and there was a parking lot. However, it was small.
Parking: Small
Kid-friendliness: It was kids friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: It does not have steps“

“The first thing I liked about China Villa was the location. Right by the water it was just soothing. Next was their Chinese decoration. It brings out a calm earthy atmosphere. Then the food and the price. The food was delicious. The veggies were perfectly cooked not soggy or hard just firm and delicious perfectly seasoned. And for all that dining experience surprisingly they kept the price reasonable.“

“I moved to the Island a couple of months ago and I haven’t found a real Chinese food spot. I finally gave this restaurant a chance and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, hot, good and great portions. It’s not my favorite Chinese restaurant on the island“

“I could definitely say Gim’s is my favorite to-go restaurant in the whole of Bay Area and that says a lot!! Everything is really good but my favorite is the sweet & sour pork over rice. Lunch menu is cheaper so it’s better to order around that time. Now they have knick-knacks on the side available to purchase. Definitely will keep coming back to this hidden gem in Alameda! 😋👍🏼“

“I’m not much in Alameda but their Hai Nam Chicken at Hong Kong City Restaurant was really good! Ginger sauce & peanuts tie up the whole plate! Worth coming ??. On a side note, chairs inside the bathroom was funny! ??
Will definitely come back again.“
