They have a limited and pricey alcohol menu, but the servers know almost nothing about drinks.

If you find the right dish, and aren't looking for drinks, it is an ok place to eat. Servers are friendly.“

“This place was way too empty for how incredibly delicious it was! First thing was the service was just lovely, such a nice lady who immediately offered a free appetizer and drink with a big smile. The Thai iced tea came first, and I know I’m a bit of a sweet tooth, but it was probably the best one I’ve ever had outside of Thailand. So incredibly creamy and rich! The chicken was tender but the broccoli was a bit tough — I think Chinese broccoli would’ve probably been a more suitable variant. The sweet and savory sauce was pretty typical for pad se ew! The portion size made for a nice leftover meal and the pricing was more than reasonable.“

“I have been meaning to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. Located in a beautiful white store front the food is just as good as the whole aesthetic of the restaurant.

I got Khao soi curry and a seafood noodle dish. It was fast delicious and fresh.

The service also was incredible. Totally mom and pop vibe where everyone hustles, is friendly and delivers just a great experience.

The Massaman is crave worthy as I have now had this several times and each time, it doesn't disappoint and you can ask for whatever spice level you can manage. “I visited Sawaan a couple months ago now and I still remember the fondness I felt after leaving the meal. They are a new modern Thai restaurant with a fresh take on a thai cuisine menu and trendy decor. The staff here are so sweet and considerate.

We ordered the tofu cloud, spicy drunken heaven, and the lemongrass catfish. The tofu cloud came with this thick and sweet peanut sauce. I enjoyed the aromatics in the drunken noodles. Our favorite was definitely the catfish. Make sure to eat everything while it is hot! You can taste the freshness in the catfish.

Food is most important at a restaurant, yet I’d like to highlight how well decorated Sawaan is. They put a lot of effort in the design choices from the ceramics to the light fixtures to the menu.“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“Sometimes you’re in the mood for Crab Rangoon AND Tom Kha Soup. Both of these dishes exceed expectations at Bangkok Garden. I’ve only ever done take out and have had quite a few of their dishes - all of which have been solid. But their unique and kind of tangy sweet Crab Rangoon and their Tom Kha Soup really are special. I also appreciate how their spice level is consistent and real (like a 2 has some heat to it!). Definitely recommend.“

Every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced — especially the green curry, Massaman curry, and fresh salads. My girlfriend has a mushroom allergy, and the server was incredibly attentive, offering her mushroom-free options without hesitation. That level of care made us feel very comfortable and appreciated.
