This place has been around for a long time in LA and is a well-known spot for Cantonese cuisine and dim sum, the quality and flavors are definitely still there. I usually come here for dim sum, so I was pleasantly surprised by their dinner specials. A lot of dishes were only $12.99–$15.99, which is a great deal. they were offering a free chicken and duck when you spend more than $80“

“We had such a satisfying meal at Wayang Restaurant Halal. Everything was flavorful, generously portioned, and clearly made with care.

The nasi kuning komplit was beautifully presented, with fragrant turmeric rice and a mix of sides that balanced each other well, especially the egg and perkedel, which stood out.

The sambal mercon absolutely lives up to its name: pedas, rich, and addicting. It woke up the palate without overpowering anything and paired perfectly with the rice.

The satay kambing was tender and juicy, with a nice bit of char and a savory-sweet peanut sauce that brought everything together.

The ayam nasi goreng felt like comfort food at its best, well-seasoned chicken and fried rice that had that nostalgic, homestyle flavor.

We’ll definitely be back to try more, this spot brings the warmth and depth of Indonesian food in every bite!“

Originally I was here to park my car and wanted to have lunch at other restaurant nearby. But the sign shows “parking Lot is for customer only”. That’s the reason why I have my lunch here.

I am very pleased with the amazing dim sum and the old-time atmosphere. The portion of food is huge and the price is reasonable. Definitely I’ll come back again!“

“My wife and I popped in MJ Valley Restaurant on. Weekday for lunch, a popular Chinese restaurant with a curious name and a long line to match. Their lunch specials are incredibly affordable, with over 100 dishes under $13. My personal favorite is the fried whole fish — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside — and the stir-fried string beans with minced pork, a comforting classic done right.

The wait was about 30 minutes, and while service was fast, it wasn’t especially friendly — pretty typical of many traditional Chinese spots. This location has changed hands several times, but hopefully, this version will last. It’s not a huge place, but it seats about 100 and delivers great value for the price. A satisfying reminder that even in a simple meal, there’s grace to be found.“

“Must try. There are dishes here that I’ve never even seen before like mega sized glutinous rice balls (tong yuan) and fried glutinous rice mixed with soy milk. Get the pan fried buns and Shanghai moon cakes (savory with a flakey crust)! Juiciest dumplings and buns. Can’t go wrong here.“
