“I might recommend this place for its pies & pastries, but not their coffee offerings. I guess they don’t get many requests for mochas because what I got was mostly milk with a splash of coffee & zero chocolate. Getting it iced costs another 50¢, which I’ve never seen before. They really don’t promote their coffee beverages, so…. Hopefully your experience will be better.“

“Very good overall. Pizza is consistently to my liking - thin bubbly crust, not too heavy on the toppings. If you love Oak & Rye, Del Poppolo, Manresa, Bantam then this is closer to those than not. Excellent Caesar salad, and the fried appetizer (usually green beans or cauliflower) is always spot on.

I’m not huge on dessert, especially brownies, but the brown butter gelato, and the brownie a la mode, are worth eating.

And the service is always friendly.

February 2026 - still going strong. Caesar remains one of the best three in town. My new favorite pizza here is the Nduja; have had Nduja pizza elsewhere but the combination of the black olives and arrested onions works very very well.“

Was expecting a different pie from the online menu I checked before arriving but they had the Beetaroni instead. Delicious and filling. Toppings were layered properly and everything was balanced. They have a vegan salad on the menu as well as an appetizer. Great drink options for all as well. Beer and NA options. Convivial atmosphere, was packed when I was there but got a nice spot at the communal table.“

The sauce is the real standout, it's light, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced, complementing every bite. It is simple, unpretentious, and exactly what you hope for from a neighborhood pizzeria.

Service is fast, and the pricing is fair. I had three slices of pepperoni pizza and three water bottles for $13.81. What struck me most is how Pizza Mia manages to deliver both nostalgia and quality, proving that some local favorites are timeless. The only downside is that I noticed the seating area is now closed, which is a bummer as that was a place to sit, eat, and enjoy your pizza and maybe play an arcade game.

“I come get a slice here often. It’s unfortunate that the price has gone up so much in recent years but I guess that’s true of most places. When slices were $1.50 it was a great deal. Now it’s just about average. The pizza isn’t the best, but it’s consistent and it will satisfy that craving you have for a slice. I like that you can get just a slice or two if you want. The dining area is usually quiet, with plenty of seating for just yourself or you and a couple friends. They have some games for the kids. I like that you get the sweet smell of the breads being baked at the panaderia next door. Parking is usually no problem. The staff is friendly.“

“I've been meaning to leave a review for Pleasure Pizza (Pacific Avenue) we visited Santa Cruz in March and decided to try this eatery as natives of New York we are super picky about our pizza, we were pleasantly surprised that it was what we expected.
