“My husband selected Fat Cats for lunch on vacation because he used to be a regular 30+ years ago. I can't rave enough about our experience! We actually got there between the lunch and dinner rushes and were met by extremely friendly crew! The diner was pleasantly decorated and the seating was comfortable. However nothing prepared me for my meal. I ordered the ahi burger. It was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and accompanied. Definitely will stop by every visit to this part of Cali!!!“

“Our first time here, at first we were a little confused as we were debating going here or custom house only to find out they operate together. Clam chowder was amazing. The bloody mary and beachfront drinks were amazing. We love it so much we went back two days later and listened to live music. Lots of pigeons outside but the don't really mess with you. Friday nights during this time of year, farmers market and live music right outside the restaurant. A great gauge for a good place is will you be back, we will definately be back.“

“At first I was sketch about this place as it was located in a liquor store. But when we pulled up we saw some people eating outside on the bench, which lifted my hopes of eating/ordering from there. My wife ordered a Greek salad with chicken skewer and I ordered a Cesar salad with chicken skewer. We were not disappointed! This chicken was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and flavorful! We highly recommend! You won’t be dissatisfied nor disappointed. I even bought a $10 scratcher and won $200. That was definitely a bonus. We stayed in Pismo overnight and even grabbed another salad with chicken skewer before we left home. Next time we are in town we’ll have to try the beef.“

“Yes, you will need a reservation, but they were kind enough to reserve a special table for us to honor our 10th anniversary! We were greeted with smiles and staff was quick to offer either still or sparkling water [nice]. Our water pourer, Maddie, was ahead of our thirst all evening and our glasses never were empty [we went through three bottles!]. Our server, Haley, was attentive and professional. She very capably poured the Justin Isosceles and went over the menu to answer any questions. My tuna tataki was exceptional...it may be an appetizer, but it was incredibly tasty and filling. The lady thoroughly enjoyed her local sablefish [first time] and its yummy accompaniments. The wine list is strong and reasonably priced. Beautiful views of Pismo Beach enhance the dining experience. The restaurant is on point, clean top notch restrooms and obvious elegance. We couldn't believe there wasn't any dress code...folks showed up looking like they just walked off the beach without a wink. Ahh...the beach life in Pismo is quite relaxing.“

“Had a large group (12) of close family. Celebrated a birthday, had 10-12 drinks served and ordered up Pollo Las Brisas, Lomo Saltado, Tacu Tacu along with El Mixti and ceviche's. All the food was excellent and very high quality. The saltado was with filet mignon and was delicious. Several family raved about the multiple fish dishes and the Las Brisas was some of the best chicken I've tasted anywhere. The desserts, and we tried 4 of them were all very good. Delicious to the point of being almost decadent... not a bad thing either. The food out did the drinks, so kudos to the chefs for winning this round! Only disappointment was no “Machu Picchu” dessert available on the menu. We'd enjoyed one several years ago and were hoping it was still on the menu. Overall; excellent food, beautiful ambiance and music in the background, average drinks, great desserts and the price was not outrageous for the quality of the evening.“

“The staff at Ada's was very friendly and accommodating. They were able to make adjustments to dishes if requested. Ada's clam chowder was different from other places I have ordered clam chowder (comparing with Ivars and Moe's); added fresh chives, gave the broth more flavor than usual. The potatoes in the chowder were the right consistency. Creamy soup without seeming like gravy nor thin. The portion was about 1.75 cups. Ample side sourdough bread. The crust was soft and not dried out. The staff was accommodating, providing peppermint tea and plenty of hot water in a teapot, which I found charming. Parking is an issue, but welcome to costal CA. Everyone has consisdered the limits of possible parking and made diagrams in compensation. The indoor dining room tables are fairly close proximity, so be prepared to possibly know the topic of your neighbor's conversation.“

I'm happy they offer my favorite wine, Austin Hope Cabernet by the glass... I've only known Ember to offer it!... My son ordered a Ni Rada? Martini that tasted how I imagine a household cleaner to taste, he reluctantly sucked it down... we didn't bother to complain but we wouldn't recommend it... he later ordered a Paper Plane Martini which he liked better... After reading other reviews, I see we didn't get the initial bread w/Ricotta offering, probably for the best since we've cut down on gluten and wanted to try a pasta dish... We started with a (not pictured) POLPETTE (large meatball) and it was moist, flavorful, & yummy... alongside PAPPARDELLE RAGU, I was hesitant about it due to not being a fan of lamb... however, it was cooked perfectly without any hint of the game flavor I dislike... my only complaint is there isn't a gluten-free pasta substitute option... It may not be Michelin standard... but it would be great to have some gluten-free Ancient Harvest pasta with any of those yummy ragu/pasta sauces available for the many people with gluten sensitivities... MARY'S 1/2 CHICKEN was flavorful and yummy with the silky mashed potatoes... and the melt-in-your-mouth OSSO BUCCO and tasty polenta did not disappoint!... The atmosphere is cozy with home-style elegance... From the initial welcoming greeting, the friendly & timely food service, the "in-tune" staff that directs you to the restroom without having to ask, the constant spotting of Nate's friendly smile as he ensures his operations are running smooth and the thanks for your patronage as you leave... our experience was pleasantly memorable... This was my 2nd visit to Nate's... the first time I had the pork chop which was flavorful, tender and simply superb... We will return!“

“Absolutely wonderful Thai food if you're looking for a great place to eat for lunch or dinner in San Luis Obispo you have to check out the Thai Palace which is right downtown tucked away in a little alley. A lot of their food can be prepared gluten free and it's clearly marked on the menu. I would say Don't just settle for the pad thai but get something really incredible like the Pad Gra prow. Also if you like ginger you definitely have to check out their hot ginger tea it's very similar to what we make at home very strong Ginger flavor very healthy just delicious. The service was phenomenal the food was awesome and the atmosphere was very cool. I will definitely be back with my family. I don't think there are any Chinese restaurants in the area in Pismo or SLO that offer gluten-free but I think this place is even better. Also if you're vegan I think they have options for that too.“

“I am a huge fan of Kokku! I crave their California rolls, best in the county. I like the texture, they make everything fresh and it shows. It comes with a super tasty slaw and the portion is great. It is located right near California Fresh in Pismo, just off the 4th St. exit of the 101. It is very clean, quiet and relaxed inside, with a couple of tables outside. The staff is fast and friendly. I am happy to support this fine local business.“

“We are from the Bay Area, but Zorro’s is probably my top restaurant for Mexican food among all we frequent. Tastes are exquisite. A very large selection. Staff is friendly and efficient. I wish we could go there each week, but alas, we would have to travel 200 miles to do so. You will not regret this. Enjoy and savor the experience.“

“We had the most tasty Peruvian food in downtown San Luis Obispo at Coya in their new location at 851 Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. The chicken saltado one of the best I have ever had. The beef empanada large. The passion fruit drink, Maracuya, refreshing. All house made authentic Peruvian food. I hope you will visit Coya and enjoy the food as much as we did. The ambience beautifully decorated with traditional Peruvian products, clothing, hats, purses, dolls, cookies, coffee and lamas. Large dinning room and outdoor seating nice. “Was curious to try this place out, especially as it's bit of a ways off from more heavily traveled corridors like US 101. Though it is next to Route 1, so it does get its fair share of traffic.

I ordered the BBQ Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, and after a few bites, I can see why this place is rated highly. The sandwich tasted fresh, and the chicken was juicy. I also ordered some Creamy Pesto Pasta a side to complement the sandwich, and the dressing and veggies in the salad really held it together.

I haven't had a delicious sandwich in awhile, and I'm glad I decided to try out this place on a curiosity. I'll be definitely coming back in the future.“

“BEST RAMEN IN SLO !! We ordered the Seared Pork Belly Tonkotsu, Pork Shoulder Spicy Miso, and Cold Ramen. Overall, the ramen was super yummy and I really enjoyed the nice atmosphere and ambiance of the place. 😋

Although the food is on the pricier end, I believe it's worth the price.

There's also indoor and outdoor seating available but we sat outdoors with the heaters on since it was a little breezy that day. We placed a reservation but they take walk-ins as well.
