From the spicy edamame appetizer to the complimentary miso soup, every bite is spectacular. What stands out most is the consistency. We’ve been here at least 10 times, and each visit has delivered the same exceptional quality and flavor. That level of consistency is rare and something we truly appreciate.
The service is also unique in the best way. Servers seem to work as a team. You might not have the same person bring your food or check in, but someone is always taking care of you. It’s clear the focus is on making sure the customer is always attended to, and it works beautifully.
Huge shout out to the cooks! Their attention to flavor and quality shows in every dish. And equally important, the cleanliness of both the restaurant and the bathrooms is always top-notch. That says a lot about how the place is run.
Ahi Sushi is one of the best spots in Bakersfield, hands down. Please never change a thing. We will continue coming again, and again, and again. This place has never failed us and truly deserves the title of hidden gem.”

Staff was very friendly and helpful, since was first visit, we had questions. I ended up with the lunch special, fried rice, with orange chicken and an egg roll. Food was really good. The over all theme and vibe of the restaurant was cool, definitely a good place to come with a group. Will definitely be back again, and recommend it as well.”

The first time I sipped their coffee was as I stepped out of the quaint cafe on my way to work, but I had to immediately stop walking and take a moment to reset because I could not believe how good this coffee was. Been stopping in at every chance I get, and each time it’s been equally good. The staff is kind and knowledgeable, and the Roaster/Owner knows what he’s doing and is more than happy to converse. Hoping for many many years of expertly made coffee and that Beanies becomes the local staple that know it could be. HIGHLY Recommend.”

The ceviche was delicous and had so much flavor, in one bite it had so many flavors and they all went complemented each other. The green sauce on the enchiladas was tasty and perfectly cooked. To end dinner we tried a coffee cake with ice cream that was bursting with flavor. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Up and coming new spot to check out. “Mauricio the cook deserves a damn raise and a party. I accidentally left my purse yesterday because my child was upset and I carried her out while my husband paid. I called this morning and the waitress said it wasn't there and sounded Shakey like she was scared so I felt suspicious. I came in anyway and the waitress was nowhere to be seen but Mauricio immediately said it was there and handed it over. I cried a little and tipped him for his honesty. Real gentleman are rare these days, he's a real gentleman. His honesty is refreshing and he really saved my ass today.”

Visiting Bakersfield, I decided to enjoy a steak dinner with lobster. I rarely eat shellfish but this entire meal was past a 10 and off the charts with deliciousness! ??? Major yummmmm!! I also enjoyed the brownie dessert that was topped with ice cream and scooped whipped cream. Oh my goodness gracious delectable. I also decided to order a slice of carrot cake to go and enjoy for the next 2 days. I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert being sent home with me as compliments from the management. The carrot cake slice was huge and sweet and delicious and I ate off of it for the 2 days of my visit. I know this is long but y'all must try the Stockdale location of Outback in Bakersfield, CA. “O'Hennings is truly a hidden gem. I tend to go either Tuesday or Wednesday nights. The bartender, Sheila, is the sweetest person. The drinks were poured perfectly, and she got everyone at the bar to play games. Due to its location, I was sort of hesitant to go in, but once you step inside, it's very inviting and calm. The parking lot is well lit, and theres a Taco truck right outside with their own seating area, or you can take your food into the bar. The only downside is that it's kind of dated inside.”

It’s slightly cheaper than the other Korean restaurants. I really enjoyed coming here over the other places in Bakersfield.
I’m going to be honest, the walls are a little dirty, but I’m not expecting perfection from a place with food and as long as the table and utensils are clean, I’m not going to make a fuss. I also feel that the menus can be updated since it seems that there has been menu changes. They offer a lot of options to pick from, though. They really have a bit of everything and everything we tried was really good. Really enjoyed coming here.”

“Just sharing a quick review of a new venue for us. Every town has their local gem whether it be a restaurant or a venue or even a park. We were invited to STARS, a local small dinner-theater in old downtown Bakersfield to see the production of, In The Heights. Think Lin-Manuel Miranda from Hamilton. Wow! They have a newly decorated bar & lounge where the vibe is spot-on 1930s style. The theater itself has various levels w/linen covered dining tables & everyone has a great view of the stage. The dinner: green salad, dinner rolls & nice entrées + yummy desserts. We chose tri-tip & it was very good. The service was exceptional. The production, all local talent, the singing, dancing & the acting …they did NOT disappoint. Some stood out with exceptional talent. Lin-Manuel Miranda would’ve been very proud of this production. The city of Bakersfield should be very proud of this local gem & I’m sure they are. We are definitely returning as the upcoming shows look to be equally delightful & entertaining. Sadly, not many dinner theaters around anymore. The band was so smooth even though you know they’re there, the meshing of the show numbers & the music was seamless. “This may have just became my favorite taco spot!! Met with smiles at the window, I had questions beyond my Spanish capabilities and the lovely woman’s english, yet the cook/owner/ man behind the counter was so descriptive and patient. Tuesday had tacos for a Buck!! So I ordered some carne asada and el pastor. I also needed to try the rice and beans, they tell a lot about a business. We added two canned Pepsis and for under $15 fed both of us well. The asada tacos were perfection!! Melt in your mouth perfection, the produce was fresh, the salsa was dynamite, and I could have put down a dozen. El Pastor was delicious only dimmed by the excellence of the asada. Then the tell all… the rice and beans l… they were done by a perfectionist taught by a grandmother, or Abuela in this case. Whole pinto “pot” beans were seasoned to perfection and the rice was what I’ve been searching for since my favorite restaurant closed a few years back. If you haven’t tried this truck, Do It! After hearing the love coming from the cook as he described what things were, I’m coming back, going back, may never leave. There’s so much more I need to experience. I’ll keep you posted. Good no no, I take that back, excellent food!! Great prices! Lovely customer service!! Don’t miss out!!”
