“This is everything a Vietnamese sandwich shop should be. #1 or #3, iced coffee, a produce box on top of a milk crate for seating, and soap operas on the tele. It's a food stall. Nothing more, nothing less. Walked out of there with 3 Bahn Mis, iced coffee, and a soda for $25 (not including tip; don't forget to tip). Actually, I walked out without anything because...soaps operas. Just left with a memory of what I wish I had at home“
“This hole in the wall is amazing. The sandwiches were delicious and fresh. They have a diverse menu with different ingredients and breads. Their house made smoothies and drinks were so refreshing. I highly recommend this place and am very excited for it to be part of the HP community.“
“I just left Yo-Way Eatery about 30 minutes ago. Yo-Way did it again!!! My sandwich was huge and delicious. I'd like to go on and on but I would just be repeating what I said in my last review. The consistency of the deliciousness of their sandwiches ensures I'll be back next month. Thanks for a great meal. PS there's a really popular sandwich place in LA that has a reputation of being one of the best sandwich shops. Yo-way, you are second to none!!!“
“As nostalgic to Los Angeles as you are going to get. A Family favorite since the 70’s. Beef with cheddar full dip with plenty of their hot mustard (buy a bottle for home) is the go to, pickle is a must and all sides including pickled eggs are delicious and interchangeable. Arnold Palmer or a beer on tap. Get some Pie!Parking: Two free lots to choose from and metered street parking, weekends and Dodgers games will impact availability.Kid-friendliness: Total Family Atmosphere“
“First time visiting and first time trying a chopped cheese... loved it! It was very cheesy, had fresh vegetables, quality beef, and the bread had a nice crunch and chew to it. It's a pretty decent sized sandwich and cost around $17. The employee at the register was super cool and gave us a run down of the menu and gave their recommendations.Seating inside is kinda first come first serve, so just grab a table if you see one open. There might also be tables set up outside to eat right on the sidewalk, but it'd be a bit noisy because of Sunset. We went for lunch on a weekend and it was pretty busy!“
“Best sandwich ever. This place gave me delusions of grandeur because the chef is so friendly I thought I was special for a minute there. The line gets long but it moves pretty fast. If you only have 30 minutes for lunch you should go later on when it has cooled off a little and hope he still has mozzarella. No, I didn't forget! But I forgive because that is how special and magnanimous I am. Shoot. There I go again.“
“Oh gosh, a South El Monte Classic! Had lunch with my grandma here on a Thursday afternoon, wasn't too packed, but the weekends can get intense! I hadn't been there since years prior to pre-pandemic.Their empanadas are to die for and their submarine sandwich is delicious. My grandma really likes the new york style sandwich and the milanesa one is tasty too. I haven't tried their new style of waffle fries but their regular seasoned fries from the past were tasty- I'd imagine these too are very good!My grandma has lived in SEM for over 30 years, she reminisced when titos was only a food truck and there was no plaza surrounding it. A true Gem! ???Parking: Parking can be hit or miss dependent on time and day of the weekSince so many stores are no closed in the Plaza, seems it's a bit easierWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“I've passed the sandwich, place a couple of times before I finally placed an order for pick up because there's usually a crowd waiting inside when I passed by and I wanted to avoid that long wait. So I placed an order for three sandwiches for me and my department for pick up more than an hour in advance. When I get there, they seem busy, and I let them know that I am picking up an order that I placed online and it took them only a moment to find my order and tell me that it was gonna be another 15 minutes til it was ready. So I wait on one of the seats outside 15 minutes and then go back inside, and my order isn't bagged yet. As I'm waiting, someone else comes up because she had called a correction in to her online order. Yes, this review is a bit tedious, but that's what it was like to get my sandwiches which were delicious by the way. Short story long, order in advance and show up 20 minutes late.“
“One of the best sandwich spots in LA. I come here at least twice a week (or to the slauson location). The only sandwich shop that offers turkey pastrami and its fantastic. All their offerings are great as I tried everything on the menu. Highly recommended and great for lunch. I sometimes order two sandwiches so I can eat it after work as well.“
“Food was great, server was amazing, little bit on a small size so if u come late you will have to wait. Only complaint would be meat being not enough salty but thats personal preferenc, so your milage may very. Will def come back... oh n price is good.Parking: Right next to the building“
“Went there for the first time today with the husband. The place was great had a good atmosphere. The employees where great handled the food properly, quick, friendly. The food was ok, nothing special about it. To me it lacks a bit of seasonings on their fries. We got a double cheeseburger, chili cheese fries with pastrami and pastrami sandwich. The pastrami sandwichs what what I felt was the best. And like I mentioned the service and their organization skills where great! Talk about teamwork. ?“
“You never go wrong eating at The Hat! Whether you're a burger or sandwich lover..you'll find something delicious to enjoy. If you love French fries..and who doesn't...The Hat has a variety of fries cooked to order... some to consider: pastrami fries, chili fries, chili-cheese fries, gravy-covered fries, and more.. plus any other toppings you can think of.. like onion, tomato, pickles... and it goes on and on. Enjoy!“
“My husband and I try all of the different bánh mì places in San Gabriel Valley. The sandwiches here are a great although I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily the absolute best, they’re definitely top-tier what I really liked with some of the other stuff they offered like the pork meatballs, and some of the other skewer items. It reminds me of the food I ate growing up in Thailand, and I really love the southeast Asian food it’s very authentic and taste great.“
“My office is at the Row. Took me months to try this place but so happy I finally did! Definitely my favorite slice on the West Coast! Favorites are the salami, red and lemon slices. Perfect crust and huge slices for $5-$6. Need to try a sandwich next!“
“Wax Paper Chinatown brings the same excellent sandwiches that you can get in Frogtown to a different part of LA. I usually go to the Frogtown location if I'm craving one of their sandwiches, but if I'm nearby or want a sandwich only offered on the Chinatown menu, then I order from here. There's some seating in the shared hallway area if you decide to dine in, and I've always found the service to be friendly and efficient. The Garth Trinidad is one of my favorite turkey sandwiches, combining a slightly spicy cabbage slaw with roasted turkey and aioli. Just writing about this sandwich makes me think I'm quite overdue for a Wax Paper order!“
“why go to open market for the bahn mi when u can go here, its literally so fire and 10x better than expensive open market. plus, open market shreds ur gums, i ate this bahn mi so fast i couldnt get a pic #thanks (also took like 10 min for my sammy, where at open market... it took 30+)“
“I love love love this place! The sandwiches are so simple but the ingredient pairings are just chefs kiss ✨ Tommy really knows what he’s doing. My typical go to is the Ironwood with turkey and I like to get the 43rd Ave as a dessert sandwich ?The 43rd isn’t always on the menu but I can confirm that they always have the ingredients.Parking: As of Mar ‘24, parking is free“
“A Latina and family owned local business with the best tortas in the business! I highly recommend The carnitas tortas, but anything on the menu is worth trying! On Sunday will have a seasonal dish for limited time only! A must try and the party subs are huge and delicious. Quick tip, you cal always call ahead to pick up your food!Just keep an eye out, because this place is located in the gas station!“
“The sandwiches are to die for. They use the freshest ingredients and it feels as though the sandwiches are made with love. I love eating a Banh Mi and although their interpretation is not traditional. It is really a home run and worth a try. I had trouble paying as my Apple Pay wasn't working. The guy working the register was so kind to me and said they can give one free sandwich per a day to those in need or whatever. It was my lucky night. I don't like to owe or receive hand outs. I returned with cash the next day I worked in that area. I offered to pay for the sandwich and he remembered me, but they couldn't accept the money because it would affect the till. I was insisting to give them the money to make it right. So the manager said that I could put it in the tip jar if I'd like and that's what I did. I'm not looking for praise or anything. This is what happened. I was really touched by their kindness and generosity. I will be sure to patronize this restaurant again and bring my wallet next time in case I mess up using Apple Pay again“
“Tasty Banh Mis. I always get the sardine along with either the pork or chicken. All made fresh to order. They include a small au jus of the specific Banh Mi you order-nice touch. ? Parking is a challenge since it right on Hyperion so if you see a spot, take it.“
“Marie's feels like a little staple of DTLA lunchtime. Their sandwiches are superb. Salads are spectacular. Service is supreme. This really is a lovely little deli owned by some lovely people who deserve support so that they can continue to provide this wonderful service to DTLA as long as they want to.“
“Wrap and Roll has been great for our company's catering needs. They accommodate 10-50+ and have a great sandwich platter that is delicious and with great presentation. The Marilyn Monroe salad is the best. Such great feedback from our teams and Wrap and Roll has the best service around!“
“I never do reviews but after tasting Quiznos for the first time, I'd have to say it's an out of the world experience and I'm not exaggerating but probably one of the best subs I have had in my entire life, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, the employees were nice and patiently waited for me to pick out what I wanted in my sub.“
“Tony's has been a top sandwich spot for me. I don't usually eat sandwiches, but when I do, this place is the best. My top favorite sandwich is the pastrami with avocado. The Mexican tuna sandwich is excellent also. You can't go wrong with a sandwich from Tony's. The area is okay. There's plenty of parking in the back lot and street parking.“
“Than Huu makes an excellent Bahn Mi. The baguette is perfect, the ingredients are simple and fresh and there are basically two items on the menu. Bahn Mi and soup; the do have a drink and tea menu as well. The service is very kind, friendly and gracious. Than Huu does have little stools and tables in the middle of an asian bazaar in Chinatown.“
“Super great place. Came here for the first time yesterday to get some donuts for my coworkers and everyone loved them, I especially loved the crumb donut. Came by this morning and got turkey, egg, cheese croissant sandwich and it's huge, delicious, and very fair price! The staff are super friendly and very pleasant in the morning. It's really nice coming in the morning and being greeted by them. The guy working there in the morning was also very helpful and accommodating when I asked him to just give me a random assortment of 2 dozen donuts. I think I'll make this my go to spot if I need something to eat before work since it's way better food and WAY better price than Starbucks or McDonald's these days.“
“First off love the workers! Super fun, nice, energetic and way on pointIn a super convenient location and super clean restaurant! There’s inside and outside seating and best of all delciousssss sandwichesYou can build your own or order from their vast menu of delicious stoner concoctionsThey also give away free apple caramel lollipops and blueberry blow pops!Seriously my new sandwich place for sure“
“Patrick has the Best service ever compared to other locations they’re always welcoming making conversation my sub was great as well the bacon was perfect, these guys are well trained and need a raise!!! I’ll be making the extra drive from miracle mile just to this “
“Miss Patty knows her way around a sandwich! Magic for your tummy. OJ’s Submarine Shop never disappoints. The shop is always clean and the sandwich ingredients are always fresh & delicious. Love this place! Try it & you will too. Nom Nom Nom ?“
“Few places surprise me, this one was one of them. We ordered the Ira glass with turkey, which was amazing. One sandwich was enough for two, a bite full had tons of flavor. We also got the pepper flavored chips, which tasted home made, lacked the pepper flavor. However, they were still very good. They have plenty of food and drink options. This place closes early, so you need to get here early. Parking can be hard, and seating is only available for a handful of people. But the experience is worth it.“
“Haven't been to a Lee's in years and it's actually a pretty decent chain for what it is. Just a quick and cheap banh mi and a lot of other options that'll do the job in a pinch. We stopped by really early in the morning before a flight and it was short and sweet. We also grabbed some pastries too and they were very hot and yummy. It's not the cheapest in town but it's still worth it.“
“This place is excellent for getting nutritious and satisfying meals. Whenever I visit, I consistently choose the south of the border wrap, and it never disappoints. The portions are generous, and the taste is both delicious and fulfilling. I suggest trying their mango habanero dressing on the side – it adds a perfect spicy kick to the wrap. I highly recommend it, a solid 10/10.Food-10/10Service- 8/10Ambiance- 8/10SOUTH OF THE BORDER - spinach tortilla, grilled season chicken breast, romaine, black beans, cilantro, crunchy onions, avocado, tortilla chips, corn, cotija cheese, chipotle ranch dressing or cilantro pepita dressing“
“Hole in the wall, real deal Armenian fermented meat shop. All beef hand made meats, similar to pastrami but not quite, I had the basturma sandwich to go served by 2 lovely gentlemen at the cashier who prepared and toasted my sandwich. Would recommend as an authentic experience“
“Asian Chicken Salad: 2/5Skip it. Anyone can make this at home. Nothing special.Ultimate Chicken Sandwich on Ciabatta: 4/5The bread was crunchy and all the fixings inside made for a great tasting sandwich. I would reorder this any day.The staff here are very friendly. The order came out quick. Great spot overall. I'll be coming back often.“
“I stumbled upon Mendocino Farms, and it was a delightful surprise. The ambiance is cozy with a touch of sophistication, making it a perfect spot for a casual lunch or a special occasion. The service here is exceptional. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to explain the different sandwich options and even suggested a unique combination that turned out to be a new favorite. Now, onto the food. The sandwiches here are a true culinary adventure. Each bite is a burst of flavor, and the attention to detail in crafting these masterpieces is evident. It's clear that they take pride in serving top-quality sandwiches. If you're a sandwich enthusiast or someone looking for a great meal in a charming setting with excellent service, you won't be disappointed here. This place exceeds expectations on all fronts – ambiance, service, and food quality.“
“Cannot thank the excellent staff at this Mendo Farms location enough! I placed a large order of over 14 different meals and drinks on a short notice and the staff made and fulfilled each meal to perfection. The excellent customer service didn't stop there - they packaged all the meals in one large bag for handling and accommodated two last minute meals in a timely manner. Thank you very much to the Mendo Farms staff!“
“Truly a gem of a sandwich shop. The decor and atmosphere feels straight out of a 70’s movie and I felt like the main character!!I ordered the half All-cheese sandwich with everything on it and it was extremely satisfying! Perfect option for a vegetarian (which is hard to come by at other sandwich shops)I also got a mini size of the Chocolate fudge stout which was a rotating tap for the month to honor Porters and Stouts ? It was amazing and only $2.50I left feeling so pampered and so well taken care of! ? Can’t wait to make this my regular spot and I already find it impossible to place another sandwich order anywhere else.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options!Wheelchair accessibility: Parking in back lot with a short walkway to the patio entrance“
“I've gotten a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich and coffee from here a couple times now, and it always hits the spot. This time around I got an Ube latte that I will dream about tonight. It seems like a Vietnamese coffee base with a dalgona-style ube whip that sweetens the coffee. Service is always nice and simple. Sometimes there's a wait for your order if it's crowded, but it's definitely worth the wait.“
“Ordered the Firehouse Salad for lunch on a Tuesday. I was told that they’re missing tomatoes and bell peppers. Not a good sign. I said that it’s fine. Opened up my salad and it was just basically lettuce and cucumbers with topping of ham. Tasted ok with honey mustard but I kinda felt jipped!Vegetarian options: Salad options availableKid-friendliness: Good place to bring kids. Very casual environment.“
“This review is for the 2 people who were working this evening by themselves. They were both patient with my order, and took their time building our sandwiches. Thank you to the both of you tonight that made our experience a nice one considering the day I had. Had to post pictures of our sandwiches because they really took there time. Our sandwiches were delicious.“
“After a long day managing errands I was craving something good and filling. Thus I remembered this sandwich place that I pass occasionally when I head to work. Also I remembered it when my work place served sandwiches for a small party. The restaurant is small and the staff were very nice! First time getting something from here. What I ordered was the Handsome Owl, the sandwich I remembered eating at work. The Handsome Owl with vegan chicken and sour dough bread. I'm not much of a vegetarian person but that was a delicious meal. Got the combo with chips and a drink. Lovely meal ! The bathroom however is very funny. Gotta go through a maze, hey it's my first time here. But the bathroom was clean indeed. I enjoyed it and would like to come back to take something for lunch if I have the chance.“
“The owner of this subway is the kindest person I've met in ages.. I came in in the morning just to get a coffee and charge my phone so I could call triple a because my car and phone are dead. I wasn't trying to vent about my dilemma or anything just find an outlet and buy some coffee, but he read the stress on my face and was so kind and compassionate.. cares about his business and most importantly the customers. he was so kind he didn't even let me pay for the coffee. Idk if I'm just being emotional but I feel like this man just restored my faith in humanity“
“This is my second time at The Munch Company and I adore it here. They play quiet and peaceful music and make a delicious sandwich! I particularly enjoy the fact you can pick your own bread. I don't think there is free wifi, so I just use my hotspot if I need to get some quick studying in. The service is great and the workers are so kind. I really recommend this place and the hot in the club sandwich if you want a good sandwich!“
“I love Charley's, the staff was really helpful and friendly. Thank you again to the two staff members who were there on 1.20.24 during the afternoon. They made my experience that much better because the two worked well together, and they looked like they enjoyed their job, which is always a plus for me when I go out and eat in at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend this location to everyone. I like the classic philly cheesesteak, but today I tried the chicken philly steak since it was on special, and it tasted great. This location offers a military discount for those vets out looking for good discounts when eating out. It is located in the Azelea shopping center in South Gate so there is plenty of parking.“
“Ordered through DoorDash craving a Vietnamese sandwich for lunch, I got the special sandwich and iced coffee. The sandwich was a decent size for the price, really affordable. Honestly it was a good sandwich, perfect amount of meat and veggies. The coffee was great as well, will be ordering from them again!“
“I love this place!!! The girls are super friendly. They were 9mins to closing time & they still attended me!! I always try to come here when my folks have a Doctor's appointment across the building Roybal. This place never disappoints has fresh quality sandwiches & delicious soups. I highly recommend. Thank You Daves Deli “
“I love this place! It use to be my go to when I lived across the street. Always getting my viet coffee and my steam buns mmmmm. They have the egg in there lol prices are really reasonable, place is clean and staff is friendly. It is a place to try! Eat a bunch for me too!Kid-friendliness: It's kids friendly bring the whole familyParking: Parking sucks 100% here try to park on the street don't even enter that horrible parking lot“
“Good food, so far I've had three sandwiches and sushi. All of my sandwiches were fresh and made to order. Same goes for the sushi. Hole in the wall environment. Makes it feel cozy. Also pretty cool that the soda machine has some old logos on it. The two people working are very friendly. They seem to recognize when you are a new customer and a returning one. On my last visit the lady asked if I enjoyed my sandwich from the previous visit. Very sweet couple. Stop by for a quick bite !“
“The surprise ?I almost floated to soda heaven! When I noticed : "@stubbornsoda" had the self-severed soda fountain on lock. In this sandwich deli shop? My favorite brand for soda right now.Anywho I ordered a hotlink and yes it's the real deal spicy with an reminder from your favorite bbq.I also ordered turkey chili, which could use more beans, it has a little yum. Rather than that there is dining open space and quiet so you can do your homework. If around I'll stop by.“
“This particular Subway is open 24 hours a day. My food orders have always been good. The service has always has also always been good. My only issue is that they run out of meatballs after 12 midnight. So when I get off of work at 4:30 AM and try and buy a meatball sandwich, they can't make me one. They start making meatballs at 6 AM.“
