“We were hosted by Katrina who took us on a guided tour through the vineyard followed by wine tasting. It was such an exquisite experience!!! Katrina gave us a feeling that we are the most important guests on earth, and was very knowledgeable about the wines and vineyard’s history. The wines and olive oil we tasted were fantastic, and the beautiful vineyard together with Katrina’s outstanding hosting - made it into a top notch experience. You should not miss an opportunity to do this wine tasting at Pence!!!“

“This spot is in a lot with other wine tasting rooms and it’s a solid spot. This review is from a casual wine drinker.I just had their tasting that had about 6-7 wines and it was a solid set of offerings. The interior was very welcoming and the outside patio is a good spot to take a date. Overall the wines were very good and solid customer service from Matt.I’d definitely come back again to try their future wines.“

Peake Ranch Winery Winery •
7290 Santa Rosa Rd, Buellton

“Peake Ranch Winery is an absolute gem in Santa Rita Hills and a must-visit for any wine lover. Their Chardonnay is outstanding! Beautifully balanced, elegant, and expressive of the terroir. The Pinot Noir is equally impressive, offering depth, structure, and refinement that truly honors the legacy of the region.
The tasting experience is relaxed and welcoming, never rushed, and perfectly curated for enjoying each pour while taking in the stunning vineyard surroundings. The tasting room itself is gorgeous, blending rustic charm with modern sophistication and creating an atmosphere that invites you to linger.
Austin did an amazing job guiding our tasting. His knowledge, passion, and genuine hospitality made us feel truly welcome and elevated the entire experience.
What makes Peake Ranch even more special is its history. This property was the original Sanford Winery site, a cornerstone of Santa Barbara wine culture. Richard Sanford is often called the godfather of Santa Barbara Pinot Noir, helped put this region on the global wine map, and his legacy is deeply felt in every glass poured at Peake Ranch.
Peake Ranch Winery seamlessly combines world-class wines, rich history, and an unforgettable tasting experience. It is a place where tradition, quality, and beauty come together.“

Rivahil Winery Winery • $$

“My husband and I came down for a visit to Santa Barbara from Sonoma. We wanted to experience Santa Barbara’s wines ( made famous by the movie “ Sideways” ) We’re used to exceptional wine produced in our Sonoma valley. Rivahill was a pleasant surprise! I could tell from the outside of their tasting room with their logo and the way the wine was displayed so beautifully, it had to be good ( I was right!) they mainly focus on Rhône varietals. Each crisp, refreshing, and full of fruit and not too heavy ( their Syrah 2016 is exceptional! As are all of their wines!) to summarize, run don’t walk! to Rivahill where you will be made to feel welcome and where you can experience exceptional wines ( yes even by our Valley of The Moon/ Sonoma standards!)“
