“Stopped in this mall tired in the evening on a long drive, desparately in need of a coffee. I happened to meet the owner Sherri as they were wrapping up for the day. She could have said no, we're closing, we're all out of coffee, but she made me the LAST cup of coffee in the entire mall at any restaurant inside, and dressed up with cream and sugar exactly how I asked. She gave me a free sample of her cookies while waiting, said it will be 2.95 for the coffee. I handed her my credit card and said PLEASE charge me extra for your fantastic service and hospitality, I don't have cash for the tip jar right now, at least charge 7 or 8 bucks if Starbucks wants that much!
...She refused to take any extra of my money above the $3. And that cookie was the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had in my life. Thank you so much Sherri! Your cookies, coffee, and hospitality and friendliness to a stranger are all world-class. I would come back every single day if I could.“

“This place was bustling when I went and for good reason- so many great options! They have my favorite brand of vegan cream cheese (Tofutti) as well as house made tofu spreads. The New Delhi was especially good, but also liked the tofu Tom and the Tofu del Fuego. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-02“

“We came in on a Sunday morning, and this place was very busy. The nice young guy behind the counter was patient and sweet to everybody even though he was working alone and getting slammed. The food was good and the coffee was hot. Props to that guy for holding it down!“

“Secret's out, kids. Best tamales anywhere. Lots of meat vs masa. Grab some Mexican sour cream while you are there. We've been doing this nearly every trip for years. You won't be disappointed. Will run out on heavy tourist days, so get them 1PM or so.“

“Got onion with jalapeño cream cheese and garlic bagel with veggie cream cheese. Mostly good but had large cheddar cheese chunks in the the jalapeno cream cheese for some reason. Felt weird , threw them away. we like the cream cheese bit dense, it was liquidy. Also it would be nice if they cut the bagels in half, easier to eat em.“

“As a vegan, finding a truly delicious birthday cake is tough to find. But Black China Bakery outdid themselves! My husband ordered the vegan raspberry chocolate cake for my 64th and it's the best I've had in a long time. Kaitlin outdid herself with the decorating as well. As a long time vegan cook and baker, I'm not sure how she manages such a delicious frosting, but it was divine. I wouldn't hesitate to order from Black China Bakery. They were kind, accommodating to my husband's requests and all around a business that deserves our support.“
“I found Rebecca's muffins at Campbell farmers market. They are so delicious and you can't really tell whether they are sugar free, soy free, gluten free and vegan. I have some health problem so I have to be on an anti inflammatory diet and I just look forward to every Sunday where I can go buy her muffins. God bless her!“

“We came as a big party... One girl was exceptionally amazing here. Wish I caught her name (short hair and working in the kitchen)... Somehow the child's avocados toast was not ordered and they were closing and everyone else got their food and she made sure to bring her food out regardless of if it was on them or us that it wasn't ordered.. then for that hassle they gave us a couple freebie cookies to make our day a little less stressful.
The food was made with deliberate care... My potato leak soup was exquisite and so was my plate of breakfast with poached eggs, bacon, toast made in house. I'm normally super picky about breakfast because I feel like i can just make it myself for a tenth of the price, but here I just felt so happy to eat their organic, yummy fresh food.
Also, they served our hot coffee and hot matcha in cutesy mugs which I really appreciated“

“Stopped into Companion Bakeshop Aptos and had a much-needed experience. The staff were friendly, and the barista who made my flat white did an amazing job — absolutely nailed the espresso pull. The coffee had rich notes of chocolate (my favorite), and the milk froth was smooth, silky, and perfectly balanced.
The pastries looked incredible — and it’s clear why this place is known for them. I wasn’t in the mood for one this time, but I’ll definitely be back to try them out. The space is quaint and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and I loved being able to watch the pastries being made in the back corner of the shop.
If I’m ever in Aptos again, this will be my go-to spot for a morning flat white.“

“We just had our daughter’s post wedding brunch on the lovely private lower outside deck. Worked with Naomi to come up with the perfect buffet menu which they set up beautifully. They put flowers out on the tables and cleared plates regularly. Friendly lovely people as well.“

“Came to Ferrell's twice for breakfast sandwiches during a recent stay at the Four Points Sheraton just a 3 minute walk away. - It's a tiny little place that felt like a throwback to a bygone era. Simple, cute, clean, and charming. Had good service from the same nice gentleman both times I was there. If you're looking for some simple morning fare while staying nearby, I would definitely recommend you check out this Ferrell's location.“

“I might recommend this place for its pies & pastries, but not their coffee offerings. I guess they don’t get many requests for mochas because what I got was mostly milk with a splash of coffee & zero chocolate. Getting it iced costs another 50¢, which I’ve never seen before. They really don’t promote their coffee beverages, so…. Hopefully your experience will be better.“

⭐️A HUGE selection of pastries, sandwiches, breakfast, sweet treats and more! I got an Italian sandwich, a shrimp artichoke salad (delishhhh!), and a lovely mini pumpkin cheesecake. ⭐️
We are definitely going back here this trip! Parking is somewhat difficult to find, would recommend parking around the block.“
