“I love sweetgreen! I always eat crispy rice bowl, I’m obsessed. Regularly every Monday actually. I have to tell I don’t like the fact that some workers are more generous and some of them not. I feel full sometimes and I’m like not full at all sometimes. For 17$ of chicken bowl that should be fair amount of chicken. Some of them just put less protein then other and hopefully they can be more careful about that!“

“A lovely restaurant in Carlsbad, just a short walk from the beach, with plenty of parking nearby. If you’re craving authentic Nepalese flavors, this is a fantastic spot to try.

I ordered the goat curry, which was absolutely finger-licking delicious, paired perfectly with their garlic naan and a Himalayan beer. We also enjoyed the yellow daal, aloo parantha, and their warm, comforting chai.

“Me and my family visited this place after a day in the LEGOLAND on a Saturday.
It was not crowded at all.
The services are very polite and attentive.
We ordered 2 scallops for appetizers, a soup, and deer steak. My daughter loved the scallop a lot.

Mint ice cream with chocolate source for dessert. It was not too sweet. We liked it.“

Burgeon Brewery has set the bar high for craft beer in Carlsbad. We stopped by on a recommendation and were blown away by their IPA selection. The DDH Juice Press was so good we brought cans home! Other standouts in our flight included Turtle Power, Treevana, and Cloud Chaser—all bursting with flavor.

The brewery’s relaxed atmosphere paired with BBQ from the Thumbs Up Food Truck made our visit memorable. The brisket with spicy sauce was smoky perfection and matched the beers beautifully. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a true gem.“

“In town Camping at South Carlsbad State Beach and drove to check this place out. I had read they have really good fi as h tacos at s great price ( 11/7/24 $1.30). They definitely are good & filling ! I left happy & full. My wife got a Carne Asada Burrito that she really liked. Nice friendly prompt service and a Salsa Bar too ! 👍 it’s a smallish walk up and order type restaurant in a strip mall but that doesn’t distract from the good food at all with indoor & outdoor seating. We were there on a Thursday evening and the place was busy with lots of take out orders from the locals. We’ll definitely be back when in town“

Ordered Lettuce Wraps. Would have given 5 of 5 stars, but the LETTUCE in my LETTUCE WRAPS was ICEBERG LETTUCE.
Am I being a snob? I don't think so. The chicken mixture was delicious! Better than P.F. Changs (which iI give a 5/10 because i couldn't tell what i was eating and almost broke a tooth on something extremely hard which was sprinkled throughout). But you should, at the very least, spend an extra dime and use a small, sturdier leaf, even romaine.

“The food is quite good. Recently I’ve been disappointed with two things:

1) their removal of the Ahi Salad, one of my favorites which has been replaced by the Mediterranean Salad (just so-so)

2) the increase in prices since I first started dining here.

Otherwise, it’s a great spot for a burger and brew, to take the family or catch the game. I suspect that its proximity to Legoland is why their prices are so high. You can find similar or higher quality food for more reasonable prices.

For example, any salad here (that includes a protein) is going to be $20-25 which seems really steep. They’re not particularly gourmet im a way that would justify that price.

Pretty much any of their appetizers are $15 or over. Likewise, all of their burgers are $20 or over besides their most basic pub burger which is $17. Steep!

You’re looking at easily spending $100 out the door for two people: drinks, mains and an app. There are a lot of places I can recommend within a 15 minute drive that would either cost less or be better.

Anyways, I do like Karl Strauss. The food is good, the staff is great, you won’t be disappointed but your wallet may hurt. This functionally puts them in the $30-50 pp. range when they should be in the 20-30. Just my .02

The freshness in flavors, everything perfectly cooked, char grilled proteins and veggie skewers 🫠🫠🫠 I used to eat here every day when the original place was in San Marcos but I do not mind driving down a little more for my fix. “Ordered the Alaskan Roll for pick up. Excellent online ordering system with easy payment (and flexible options). I was concerned that the salmon would be smoked (I’m not a fan of the smoked variety), so I made a note about it. They prepared my order perfectly and included a note, “Not smoked… enjoy!” They even included the extra ginger I requested. Easy pick up and the sushi roll was excellent and very tasty! When I went inside to pick up my order, it was packed and the energy in the room was very happy and warm. Highly recommend this place!“
