“We visited this cafe twice during our 4 days in Carmel Valley. This cafe was close to our hotel, and my husband needs his morning coffee/pastry so we checked this place out. And i'm glad we did because all of the pastries were delicious! We tried so many. The blueberry scone, blueberry muffin, lemon pound cake, coffee cake, chocolate chip walnut cookie, sugar brioche, and caprese sandwich. I never have high hopes when I try new places in the area, but this cafe was super cute and had great pastries. We bought a box of pastries to bring back with us. Looking forward to coming here often on our future trips.“
“Just your run-of-the-mill diner staffed by the loveliest locals you'll ever meet. My boyfriend and I stopped here before our wine tour in Carmel Valley, and the Traileside Cafe provided the best hearty food to fuel us for the inebriation that lied ahead. We split the fish and chips and tuna melt which were both good. Albeit, not the best food we've ever had - maybe w notch above Black Bear Diner. But, not bad at all! What made this experience even better was our attentive, amicable waiter.“
“Astonishingly great pizza. The sausage pizza with pickled shallots and calabrian chilis is almost perfection. I don't think there's a single thing I would change about it. Bread with roasted garlic is an exercise in simplicity and deliciousness. I think my only complaint there would be to salt the butter - all the ingredients were great, but a little seasoning made it exceptional. Corkscrew was about an hour away from where we were staying and it was well worth the trip. Absolutely a must visit if you're anywhere nearby.“
“Absolutely loved this little hole in the wall gem!!The girl who helped us was so nice and welcoming.The art that is displayed was beautiful. I wanted to just stay and stare at the art and read all day. I loved it!We purchased a cheese danish and an almond croissant and aMoroccan Mint tea and some cookies.The cheese danish was so light and delicious but the real star of the show was the almond croissant!! Sooooo delicious!!We will def be back.“
“The baristas here are the cutest girls! They are all so friendly! The coffee is amazing and there are always new drink specialties! They have the cutest gifts for holidays and birthdays. Definitely my favorite coffee shop in the area! My favorite drink is the honey cinnamon latte, so delicious!“
“Husband plays pickle ball here and has brought me for dinner twice now. What a pleasant surprise! Tonight, (granted I've been dieting since February so "bland" has been my thing) I treated myself to a chicken quesadilla. Silly me expected a kid's meal type thing but what I got was SO good! Chicken, sautéed with red peppers, red onion, zucchini, light cheese. Grilled tortilla too! I had to thank the chef! Inexpensive, lovely dining room at a very pretty courts/pool club. Definitely will be a regular.“
“This place is beautiful, and it was tulip season when we went, so you could pick your own tulips. They have different garden sections, including a children's garden with a swing set and a giant wooden chair. There's also a deli like cafe where you can easily grab a bite. I came here with my dad and my 10-year-old. This place is great for all ages - for the whole family, a date, or just a solo self care day.“
“Consistently one of the best places for breakfast in this area. Usually busy, parking is always a problem, but it's well worth it. My go-to is the huevos rancheros with chile verde and it's the stuff I dream of. It's not always on the menu, unless it's the weekend. Tortilla with a slather of beans and cheese and another tortilla on top. Pour on the delicious pork chili verde, add your eggs and a sprinkle of cotija and cilantro. Delicious! My husband loves the chicken fried steak, and theirs is the best locally. Their gravy tastes homemade and the steak is seasoned and cooked perfectly. I would add photos, but food is usually devoured so quickly after arriving that there's no time. Staff is friendly and does a good job. The same people have been there for a long time, so they must treat their staff well. Appreciate this place and highly recommend.“
“I always have lunch at cafe del monte. The staffs are nice and kind. Especially the chef and the man who gets orders. Their cheeseburger is one of the best. I think there are 3 number one burger in LA. Innout, five guys and Cafe del monte. I highly recommend you to try their cheeseburger.“

“What a nice surprise! This restaurant had a Mexican vibe, and we wish there were more Mexican dishes on the menu. We had a burrito bowl and a steak quesadilla, and both were delicioso! The wait staff were attentive and kept our drinks filled.“
“If you are visiting the area, this is a must stop place. It is my favorite restaurant in the county. Every ingredient in every dish is intentionally used, there are no lazily picked side dishes here. The small restaurant is very charming and half of their seating is outside, well covered and heated nicely. Make sure to make a reservation!“
