“I haven't had a real good torta in years! We saw a food truck, Tacos El Rummy that had a sign tacos y tortas. I ordered the torta adobada. When it arrived I took a bite and couldn't stop eating it. The adobada had a unique homemade flavor full of flavor and juicy. It was so good I forgot to take a picture. The owner, Israel came out and checked on us. I let him know we enjoyed our lunch including the homemade salsas and Horchata. Can't wait to go back to try the tacos. Congratulations, Israel!“

I squeeze lime into every bite with their salsa habanera (it is HOT but delicious!). “The Restaurant was called El Rinconcito, under new owner. We stopped here after a visit to Sesame Street Place, hoping to have some authentic Mexican food. We were not disappointed! “I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south.

I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.

Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.

I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…

The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.

“I been following Chris and his dad before they got this taco truck for a few years now, glad to see them still going strong. They have some bomb tijuana style tacos. I like to get the asada and adobada tacos. My friend is obsessed with their asada papa loca (baked potato). I haven't tried it but I will order that next time. Don't forget the habanero onions and the chiles/cebollas toreados, So good! P.s. Check their Instagram to see when they are open because sometimes they do special events and I've shown up and they are not here because I forgot to check if they were there.“

“The birria is so good! I’ve tried several places in Imperial Valley, San Diego and Chula Vista and this is the best birria I’ve had. The only bad thing about this place is that they do not have a changing table for babies, so I had to change my baby on the floor.

Parking: There is only two parking spaces. You have to park on the street.“

“I enjoyed a nice breakfast from this taco lounge. I had the ham and eggs break burrito which also came with beans, cheese, and fries, but I axed the fries. Not a fan of fries inside burritos for $10.99 plus tax. All their burritos come with a small side of rice and crispy tortilla chips.

The breakfast burrito was very good. It was average size and came nicely filled with all the ingredients. I liked that they used a thicker variety of ham. The eggs were well scrambled and the beans were tasty. The burrito came on a good quality buttery flour tortilla.

The side of rice was very good. The rice had a good loose texture and great flavor. The tortilla chips were crispy and lightly seasoned. They were good at eating with red hot sauce.

The service was quite friendly and welcoming. They offer a good amount of seating inside and outside. Good breakfast!“

“San diego has a great food truck. After the rodeo, it hit perfectly. 2 regular tacos de asada and al pastor with 1 of tripas. Bomb. Came all hooked up, salsa, onions, cilantro guacamole, delicious. Tripas was reqlly good as well but I prefer them crunchy.
The quesa tacos were bomb also. There was al pastor fries and and birria tacos. I will definitely go back. The pricing was a bit much but it was worth it.
Parking is not the best, so get there early.
