“This is truly a gem of a hole in the wall!! Almost literally, and I say that with respect and appreciation. This cute little eatery is easy to miss, being tucked in a very small strip mall (if it even qualifies as that!) between a small pharmacy and a laundromat, just south of the Arco on the corner of PCH and Pacific. But once you have eaten here, boy oh boy is it hard to forget!I come here about once every other week when I'm on a regular work schedule. Became hooked immediately with their unique bahn mi sandwiches and their pate chaud. Now I'm completely obsessed with their plant-based shrimp spring rolls and their grilled pork bun bowl. That bowl is the perfect balance of light and filling, flavorful and refreshing. It is one of my lunch go-to options. And the plant-based shrimp rolls are AMAZING. Obviously I'm not vegan, but this is an item that I enjoy so much despite it all.I have yet to try their pho. Maybe one of these days. They do have seating inside, but no restroom. Also, parking lot is small and shared, so I avoid coming during peak lunch hours, usually after 1 to pick up my food, and I've had no issues.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, flavorful too!Parking: Parking lot is pretty small and shared with a pharmacy, laundromat and discount store.“

“Came here on a random morning with my kid after their doctor appointment and so so glad I did! Called ahead to see if they had a high chair & thank god I did cause they only had 1! No biggie, strollers exist for a reason. We got the 1. Catfish special - 2 filet catfish (fried to perfection btw) 2 over easy eggs and cheesy grits 2. Fried chicken with 2 scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes Grits were okay, I make them better at home so obvi I wasn't expecting home outdoors lol Chicken and fish were PERFECT. Tasty and crunchy. My kid ate it up!! Each plate came with a choice of toast, we got the sourdough (it already came buttered) that's customer service! Not to mention, the waiter looked like he was handling the tables and the register. He did so with kindness, attentiveness and promptness. I was never waiting for someone to check on us for very long. I love Inglewood and moved away from here a few years ago so it was nice to come back and feel that community feel again Prior to getting the check, a young lady checked on us (we sat outside) and promptly got us our check and some to-go boxes. 10/10 would recommend. Really appreciated the service and quality of food. Next time we're in the area, I'm bringing the hubsters“

“My friend and I had just finished a hot yoga sesh in the area and wanted something healthy to eat. Lucky me, she found Appu's! We were greeted by Chef VR himself! He made us feel so welcomed and gave us wonderful recommendations since it was our first time. We were not disappointed as the food was sooooo bomb! The vegan mango lassi is his own recipe and I was mind blown how good it was especially being vegan and having no sugar added (besides the fruit). The burritos were ???? and filled with so much flavor. I can't wait to come back and try all the other dishes! ?“

“AMAZING FOOD! Love that it is non alcoholic as it definitely invites a positive crowd. Very lowkey neighborhood as well. Service was quick and snappy. My friend did not like her original order but they exchanged it for something else on the menu with no issues. Will be returning often as a resident of signal hill“

“I was in the area for a tire and in desperate need of coffee. I asked the barista which to get and they recommended the horchata latte, I got it with half the sweetener, iced and it was perfect. I even splurged and got a the tomato & mozzarella empanada (also recommend by the barista) chefs kiss! Came with a chipotle sauce of some kind and so fresh. I also opted for the spinach, egg and cheese empanada which was also delicious. Will definitely be back when in the area.“

“A Haven for Bread Enthusiasts and Culinary Adventurers I've been eager to explore this quaint spot for some time now, and serendipitously, while in dire need of bread and passing by, we decided to pop in for a quick visit. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality from the staff. Their welcoming demeanor instantly made us feel at home. One of the first things that caught our attention was the impressive array of breads and baked goods on display. The selection was diverse, ranging from traditional loaves to more exotic varieties, each exuding an enticing aroma that hinted at their artisanal craftsmanship. It was evident that a great deal of care and skill went into the creation of these baked delights. But what truly set this place apart was its inclusion of various unique sundries, adding an extra layer of excitement to our visit. From locally sourced honey and preserves to imported cheeses and specialty spices, there was a treasure trove of culinary delights waiting to be discovered. It was a delightful surprise to find such a wide range of high-quality provisions under one roof, further showcasing the commitment to excellence that this establishment embodies. After much deliberation, we settled on a few loaves to take home, along with a cortado to enjoy on the spot. The coffee, in particular, was a revelation--rich, robust, and expertly brewed, it provided the perfect complement to our freshly acquired bread. Admittedly, the prices were a bit higher than what one might expect to pay for bread. However, it's important to recognize the value in supporting small businesses, especially those that prioritize quality and craftsmanship. In this case, the premium price tag felt justified by the superior quality of the products and the personalized service provided by the staff. In summary, our impromptu visit to this charming establishment proved to be a delightful surprise. With its welcoming atmosphere, delectable offerings, and commitment to artisanal excellence, it's a gem that deserves to be cherished and frequented by bread enthusiasts, culinary adventurers, and coffee aficionados alike.“

“I ventured out this morning on my day off for coffee that wasn't Starbucks and found this coffee shop through Yelp. What drew me here was the Cajeta Latte. I got it iced and it was delicious. The right amount of sweetness and it was honestly unique to anything else other shops offer. Employees were pleasant and the inside is cozy with lots of different types of seating for business, studying and a good casual first date location. Cute artwork and an inclusive space for all. They offer mobile printing services which was something I have never seen done before! Parking was a breeze on a Thursday morning and I definately will add this coffee shop to my list of rotation.“

“I ordered the chicken fried steak and it tastes was savory, fresh and crispy. The gravy was smooth, creamy and not so salty. The service is very responsive and respectful however this place does get packed so expect a wait time. Ambiance feels like a hole in the wall type dinner as the location is in between many other shops in a shopping area. Well worth the wait.“

However, it's dark and doesn't taste like caramel.I scrape it off and use my own syrup. That's my only gripe about that particular cheesecake.I would recommend people try them.**I would also love for them to have more flavors available.“

“Last minute search for a breakfast/brunch type spot and found Marin Cafe. It's located in an area off of Rosmead that shares a small parking lot with Zapien's Salsa Grill. It is a small lot but there's parking on the other side. I went while it was raining in the morning around 9 so it was pretty empty. The cafe is a small shop with 3 four-seater tables so not good for huge groups. But the decor was really cute and cozy. A mix of cafe and small bakery. Love the painted walls with the cake and bakery items painted on. There was a large display case of various bakery good from conchas, to croissants, to cakes and cake slices. Everything looked so good. Brisa (I hope I didn't spell her name incorrectly, apologies!) was our barista and she was lovely. Very friendly and let us take our time, she answered my bf's questions about the food. We chatted here and there and then placed our orders with her. She kept us updated on our food as they made the wrong sandwich for me and needed to remake it which was no problem and appreciated. The food was delicious! We ordered a concha, with an Abuelita hot latte, a mocha hot latte, breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. Recommend the Abuelita hot latte for sure, perfect on a rainy cold day. The chocolatey spice from the Abuelita was so good with the espresso, the mocha was great as well great blend of chocolate and coffee. Now the breakfast sandwich was bomb, presentation and taste were great. Eggs were hot and fluffy, bacon crispy, with ham, and refreshing tomato avocado and lettuce with a honey mustard type sauce. It also came with a side of potato salad, pickles and banana peppers. The potato salad is EXACTLY how I like it, not mayonnaise-y and sweet. Brekfast burrito was nice and filling too, bf said he'd definitely add bacon next time as mine was crispy in my sandwich hash browns were crispy and the creamy lime cilantro sauce was so good with it. I also ordered a slice of the mocha tres leches cake...so good not overly sweet and mocha wasn't too strong. The cake was overly saturated with milk which I would've like but it had the right amount of moistness so not to make it soggy. All in all definitely reccomend this little gem of a cafe. Owners and staff are all friendly and the food and drinknwere fantastic. Definitely coming back for more cake!“

“Excellent lunch spot. Was pleasantly surprised by this lunch spot. The food to price to service is excellent. The prices are reasonable. The portion sizes are reasonable. The quality of the ingredients is great. And the service staff is on point. I highly recommend this place. Parking is convenient. Note this is not a stand alone restaurant. The restaurant is located within a business plaza. They also offer a half sandwich and soup combo. My friend got the mushroom soup and half a sandwich and said the soup was excellent. Another friend got the Cobb salad and said it was great. I got the club sandwich and was very pleased with my order. We also got an order of the hummus to share which I highly recommend. “Short: Charming café with down to earth people, no frills menu. Staff is friendly & the environment is calming. Dog friendly patio. Long: Parking is abundant in the marina lot. Exterior vibe is boaty lol as the café is tucked away between the Wilmington Marina & surrounded by boats. There are booths & a counter inside but why would you sit inside if the outside is refreshing? Lol There is usually a pup or two on the patio that is generally calm. There are occasions the pups go a little nuts over the birds or ducks around. Lol Yes, there is a small menu for dogs. Staff is friendly, professional, & efficient. Food is simple but good. A couple surprises: the French toast & the menudo. Both are delicious! WC: Key required, separate facilities for ladies & gents.“

“Quiet little coffee shop with a welcoming owner. Ordered two regular coffees with a dirty chai latte. Hot drinks and good size cups for a medium. Ordered a regular butter muffin and the owner took it to warm it up and slice it for us as well. Never received that kind of service from a smaller end coffee shop before. Definitely not from a chain either. Lovely outside patio tables and chairs and the greenery surrounding the area is lovely. Highly recommend. Very clean bathroom as well“

“TMJ Café - A Haven for Donut Lovers If there's one thing you must try at TMJ Café, it's their Maple Bacon Donut. This delightful treat is nothing short of phenomenal. The donut itself is pillow-soft, providing the perfect canvas for the rich, sweet and savory toppings. The maple glaze is expertly balanced - not too sweet, just perfectly syrupy, complementing the crispy, savory bacon on top. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that leaves you craving more. The ambiance of TMJ Café adds to the experience, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's clear that they put a lot of love and care into their baked goods. And if the Maple Bacon Donut is anything to go by, the rest of their menu promises to be just as delightful. In summary, TMJ Café is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. Their Maple Bacon Donut is a standout, and I am eagerly looking forward to indulging in the rest of their delicious offerings. “Came here to work a bit on Friday after my morning workout. They are located next to a church I believe and they have a large parking lot. The place is spacious and there was hardly anyone there when I arrived. They have a variety of options when it comes to snack and food. I opted for a egg and cheese croissant and a cup of coffee. The croissant tasted really good. The coffee wasn't too strong which is what I enjoy. I was going to use the 15% yelp check in but the lady at the counter didn't understand what I was talking about. BUT the prices here are so reasonable compared to other coffee shops, so really there is no need to use the check in option. Definitely on my list of places to work in the morning.“

“This cafe shares a space with the lobby of kodo hotel, and is beautiful Japanese minimalism at its peak. That being said, it must get slow because both the lobby reception and cafe barista were looking bored and on their devices when I stepped in. It was a bummer that they were already out of pastries to not have a little sweet something to accompany my usual espresso, so I opted for an oat cortado which was lovely. The coffee and ambiance in their mini outside patio was nice.“

“The food was good But I didn't get my correct order. 2+2+2, I only received 1 French toast, I guess 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon. They brought me 1 slice of French toast/bread and cut it in half (as if to say it was 2). I went there after my senior workout class with the ladies (I was the only black person out of our group). So, I'm not sure if it was intentional or what because how are they going to think that was a 2+2+2? They were really nice and I previously went there 2 other times and their omelettes were delicious, I hope my order wasn't right on purpose because I like the place. I should have said something but didn't want to feel like I was trying to start something. I think I'll stay away for a few weeks. ?“

“The tuna apple sandwich and salad combination is a unique and refreshing twist on a classic sandwich. The combination of the savory tuna with the sweet and crisp apple creates a delicious flavor profile. The salad that accompanies the sandwich is usually a simple green salad with a light dressing, such as a vinaigrette or lemon juice. The salad provides a nice contrast to the richness of the sandwich and adds some freshness to the meal.Overall, the tuna apple sandwich and salad combination is a satisfying and healthy option for a quick lunch or dinner. The flavors complement each other well, and the combination of textures adds interest to the meal. It's a great choice for those looking for a lighter and more unique sandwich option.“

“Bites & Bashes is a cute little breakfast spot run by a mother-daughter duo, using produce from their family farm. The menu comes off as Asian-Mexican fusion with burritos and bulgogi items. We had the ube lava pancakes, Korean breakfast, crack fries, and the CFO. The ube lava pancakes comes with three moist, fluffy pancake generously drizzled with ube syrup and coconut flakes. This was soo good! The Korean breakfast is a skillet of beef bulgogi, onion, peppers, and two eggs over rice. It was a very satisfy and delicious comfort food. The CFO is a burrito with scrambled eggs, pork, beans, rice, and scallions. I tried a little of it and it was pretty good. The crack fries are a great appetizer. Service was really great and we got to meet the owners: Crystal, the daughter, and the mom, Chef Julie.“

“4++ great neighborhood coffee shop that has fun, chill vibes, and enthusiastic service. There's fun decor inside and looks like a place where people can hang out or get some reading and/or work done. I only got an Americano or drip from here (with added cream), so I can't really speak to the food items or any of the more complex, possibly more sugary drinks here. It looks like they roast their own beans here as well. I had a lot of coffee at home at the time of my visit, so I didn't buy a bag. I might have to come back and grab one. Parking was easy to find. There's a lot on the side of the building. If the lot is full, I'm pretty sure you could find street parking close by.“
