“A great place to get Chinese BBQ skewers in the Richmond.
One of my favorite items to get are the chicken and beef skewers. Also for veggie options, I like to get their chives and corn *ask for extra toasty :)
Service is quick and friendly. Recommend coming before 8pm so you can beat the rush!“

“I visited Mashita Galbi Jjim on a Sunday evening around 6 PM with a party of four, and to my surprise, there was no wait—we were seated right away. With only two staff members working the floor, the restaurant still managed a steady rhythm of service. The space itself is inviting, with a high ceiling that makes it feel airy, a clean bathroom (always a plus), and a generally cozy environment that sets the stage for a comfortable meal.
For food, we ordered two dishes: the pork tonkatsu and their signature galbi jjim. The tonkatsu arrived quickly, golden and crispy, delivering the kind of satisfying crunch and savory bite you’d expect from a well-executed cutlet. The galbi jjim, however, was a different story. It took about 30 minutes to reach our table, which seems to be the norm based on observing other tables. While the wait did build anticipation, it also disrupted the pacing of the meal. When it did arrive, the flavors were solid—rich, hearty, and braised with care—but not quite at the level of depth or complexity I’ve had elsewhere. Personally, I still prefer Daeho’s version, which leans more memorable in both flavor and overall experience.
Service was professional and efficient given the limited staff, though not particularly warm or engaging. It felt more functional than personal, but everything we needed was taken care of without issue.
In terms of ambiance, Mashita balances casual comfort with a slightly polished feel, making it a nice spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family.
Value-wise, the restaurant is fairly priced for the quality and portion sizes. While the food is solid and the dining experience smooth overall, I didn’t find it compelling enough to make this my go-to spot for galbi jjim.
Final verdict: 4/5. A reliable option with cozy ambiance and decent execution, but not quite distinctive enough to stand out in a city with strong competition.“
“On days when being in the kitchen is a chore; Clement BBQ is a life safer. For a rice box with your choice of white, fried rice, or various fried noodle types, you get to choose two entrees from the cooked foods. All for $9.50. there might be an additional dollar or two for the occasional more expensive fare. It feeds two people easily. Great deal. Two meals and done. No leftovers.“

“Saw this place in Instagram and pinned it to my list to go to in Chinatown.
The menu is extensive and has a little bit for everyone’s craving for the day. You know it’s a good sign when you walk in and you hear the uncs and aunties yappin. It just means this place is authentic !
The Satay Beef Noodle soup was great. It has a spice in it I can’t pinpoint, but it made it unique to any other beef noodle soup I’ve had. I was expecting a taste closer to bun bo hue, but no it’s something different. Still very tasty! The cucumbers innit was a surprise and it worked very well.
The chicken wings came out piping hot and crunchy. The chicken itself didn’t have much flavor tho.
The chow fun is something I’d order again. The beef was cooked with a Smokiness flavor to it.
This spot accepts card for payment, so I am happy that I didn’t have to pull money at an ATM. The staff is very friendly and can give recommendations“

“Fantastic standard Hawaiian fare. The chicken katsu was fried to perfection - crispy breading on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside. The chicken teriyaki was solid as well. The macaroni salad was solid.
Everything here was well-prepared and priced reasonably.
Service was helpful and kind.
If you're hankering for some Hawaiian food in the North Bay, this is your place!“

“This is our local, “go to” place whenever we’re craving Korean food. It never disappoints. At night, they generally project K-pop music videos onto a large wall, which brings the whole room to life. Lotsa fun!“

“The food was truly authentic and exceptional, with incredible flavors. I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and decided to try the BBQ pork plate. It exceeded all expectations and has likely set the bar so high that standard ‘Chinese food’ places will never compare.“
“I had dinner with my family at Chef Xiong Kitchen yesterday and we ordered several dishes: green peppercorn stewed fish, stir-fried potatoes, pig feet and chicken skewers, cold spicy noodles, beef noodle soup, and stir-fried green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the cold spicy noodles, which were a standout.
The portion sizes were very generous and offered great value for the price. Each dish was packed with flavor and had its own unique flair. The service was impeccable; the staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our meal.
I’ll definitely be coming back, whether for dine-in or takeout! I will also be telling friends and family to try this place out!“

“Food was good 👍🏼 portions were standard, the customer base was awesome! We sat at different tables but everyone was talking... kinda like if an episode of cheers was shot in a BBQ joint. I was in town for work. When work brings me back, i will eat and hopefully bump into the same kind souls again.“

“Absolutely fell in LOVE with this place and this will be my go to place for dim sum in SF from now on. I discovered this gem when the line at good mong kok bakery was too long. There seemed to be plenty of locals in the restaurant so I decided to give it a shot. I spent around $40 got plenty of dim sum for the family to go around. The dim sum was hot, plump, and filled with meat!
We tried new moon last time, and was extremely disappointed because it was cold!! Plus, the have seating in the back. We will be coming back here. Bring cash!“

“This place serves some of the best Chinese cuisine I've had in a while—absolutely delicious and incredibly reasonably priced! The portions are generous and shareable, making it perfect for friends or family, and you can really enjoy a variety of dishes without breaking the bank. The only downside is that if you split an entrée, there's a $2 share charge, which is a bit of a bummer, but overall, the food quality and prices make up for it. Highly recommend for anyone craving flavorful Chinese food at a great value!“

“I’m kind of sad tourists have flocked to this place as it is a local favorite for cheap eats and now it’s not so hidden anymore. I don’t think the decor changed in over 20 years but it’s ok. It’s not the cleanest pf restaurants, but I always come back for the roasted duck.“

“I love this place, favorite bbq shop on Clement. I only wish they were open Mondays because that’s the easiest day for me to get there. Been going for years when I can, service has always been just fine. As for atmosphere, it’s takeout so what do you expect.“

“I am visiting from NYC and I just ordered some food as minute meal through Uber Eats before I return back. I never expected this to be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and that’s coming from someone who frequents Ktown in NYC. I got the creamy rice cakes and cheese sticks. Absolutely the best meal I’ve had in SF. Food came so warm and tasted amazing. Extremely lucky to have tried this place right before leaving, and just goes to show how they value their quality as the food was perfect even as late as 12 AM. Didn’t even get to take pictures because the food was devoured so quickly! Must visit for sure!“
