“Basque style tapas (pintxos) in a stylish little restaurant. What’s not to like? Stop in for a couple of small bites and a drink like a Spaniard would, or have dinner.“

“From the moment we stepped into La Catalana, we were transported to an authentic Spanish-Catalan experience. The atmosphere exudes warmth, passion, and attention to detail, making it the perfect place for a memorable evening. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish crafted with care and rich in flavor. The tapas were exquisite, and the hand-selected Spanish-Catalan wines perfectly complemented our meal. Rodrigo, our server, went above and beyond, providing exceptional recommendations and ensuring we had an incredible dining experience. His attentiveness and knowledge truly elevated our visit. A special highlight was meeting Monserrat, the owner, whose kindness and hospitality made us feel at home. Her love for the community and dedication to creating a welcoming space is evident in every aspect of La Catalana. We visited to celebrate friendship and an award received by one of our friends, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. As community leaders, we wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to everyone. La Catalana is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience filled with passion, culture, tradition, and heart. We have found a new favorite spot, and more importantly, a new friend in Monserrat and her team.“

“A new Omakase Group restaurant that brings the art of foraging to Japanese-inspired Californian cuisine. Connected directly to their Dumpling Time restaurant.
One of the best dining experiences ever! Chef Nik with Chef Griffin have truly brought the magic of foraged local ingredients, allowing the quality of the ingredients to speak for themselves. They creatively pair the ingredients with flavors and textures that bring out the essence. Love that the menu will be ever changing and evolving with the seasonal availability.
Both chefs and their GM Nick have such personable and charming personalities. For such a small intimate setting, they genuinely care about the experience for their guests. They have such an easy rapport with everyone at the table and they run a tight but smooth ship despite it only being their third pop-up weekend. Their warm, friendly and attentive demeanor truly elevated the experience.
Overall, AMAZING! From the food to the service, what an incredible journey. Cannot wait to return!“

“I had a fantastic experience doing the tasting menu and the wine pairing. Lots of small perfectly executed dishes, served at a good cadence. Lots of the ingredients were foraged, including some of the seafood. The wines in the pairing were great, especially considering the price point of the pairing was very reasonable - for so many pours of wine. I understand that the menu is constantly changing - so I'm sure I'll be going back soon.“

“Editing this a year later
This spot has become our favorite destination for a relaxing wine night, whether it's a casual evening with friends or a date night. The cozy atmosphere is consistently a hit with everyone we introduce to the place.
What really sets it apart are the owners, Nici and Ty. They are incredibly friendly and offer great recommendations. It was a pleasant surprise that they recognized us months after our first visit and even remembered my girlfriend's preferred wine! We also love their flexible flight concept, which allows you to sample any of the wines available for a single set price.
It's also an excellent choice if you're looking for a laid-back wine bar before heading over to a Sharks game!“

“Excellent food and service! Some of the most authentic Chinese noodles I ever had. I have traveled to China before and had these dishes. The food here is just as good. Further, the dishes here are regional based (Central China). That means not many Chinese restaurants have these wonderful spices/ flavors. Highly recommended!!“

“This bar is pure vibe. I was visiting San Jose from Boston with my wife, who works in the natural wine world, and we brought six friends with high expectations. This place exceeded all of them.
First, the wine program is outstanding. Thoughtful, diverse, and clearly curated with real care for the natural wine spectrum. Every bottle we tried was excellent. Prices were shockingly fair for the quality. Even with the $15 corkage, which we do not really see in Boston, the value was hard to beat.
The food was just as impressive. We had the arancini, a tantanmen-style butter pasta, chips and dip, and the pork belly. Every dish was crave-worthy. Serious cooking happening here, and we cannot wait to come back and dig deeper into the menu.
The space itself was cozy and transportive, somehow pulling you out of the downtown setting entirely. We started on the patio, where the hostess effortlessly set us up with a table, linens, glassware, a bench, and a space heater so we could settle in and catch up. A DJ was spinning an immaculate set that my wife perfectly described as “Bay Area classics.” Inside, the layout was warm and inviting, with a front-window den of couches, a communal table, and enough seating to comfortably fit our whole group. By then, the wine was flowing and the energy was just right.
And finally, the service. Ming behind the bar and our hostess were absolute standouts. Warm, attentive, and genuinely engaged, even while handling a full bar. From accommodating a walk-in group of eight to keeping glasses filled, plates flowing, and the overall vibe dialed in, they made the night feel effortless.
10/10. We will absolutely be back, and I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a truly great natural wine bar experience.“

“I don’t know what’s better - the food or the service. PHENOMENAL menu executed perfectly and changes frequently. The sake list is exquisitely unique and changed the way I think about sake. Everything is plated beautifully and it’s hard to pick a favorite dish. Cannot recommend One Fish more highly.“

“I’ve been coming here since they reopened most of the people here that work here are from flights in Campbell so it’s like all my regular friends are working here. Still I come Tuesdays and Thursday nights home away from home. He can’t go wrong. Food is good. Beers are good. The only thing they need is a second bathroom and happy hour And everything would be perfect“

“We love this local gem and we always try to support them.
Our experiences have always been wonderful.
I do want to point out that I saw an additional “Operations Fee” surcharge of 5% levied on my bill. I personally think this is poor taste and reflects badly on the Management who should be able to run a profitable business with any and all “operational cost” built into their financial models.
You might as well have labeled this “charitable contribution “ or “donation”, or just raise your prices by 5%.“

“I went to try the new lunch menu at Tanto Izakaya in Sunnyvale that started last week. I’m a huge fan of Tanto and their authentic Japanese menu, so when I saw they had new lunch set meals, I just had to go right away. I tried the Bara chirashi set meal for $33 and while it seems pricy, it is worth the price due to the huge portions and I left feeling very full.
Times have changed, this is the economy we are in for prices. Portion wise, I think it’s even enough to share. Come hungry!
The presentation is like a chirashi bowl I had in Hokkaido earlier this year. If you love Japanese food, I highly recommend a try. Service is quite fast. I was the first customer at opening. They have been around 25 years, so the vibe is always good and nostalgic.“

“Aloft Sunnyvale on its own is good enough value for money spent. However, what truly stood out was the customer ser ice of its front desk. Shoutout to Michelle for helping me out a ton when I was trying to extend my stay. No excuses were made and she found a way to get it done even under difficult circumstances. Roy was also great with the room upgrade when he saw that I had brought a friend and might have needed a bigger bed. 10/10 Customer Service!“

“First visit. Had lunch of an Insulate di Tonno and an Arthur Ave panini. Both were excellent. The EVOO on the salad was very good. The bread on the sandwich was perfect, not too big to suffocate the delicate flavors of all the thinly sliced meats inside. We were unfamiliar with the wine list so the server offered us a couple of tastes until we found the perfect match. Can't wait to return and try their dinner menu.“

“2nd time here. First time was for brunch and we enjoyed the food, had most dishes from the menu to share. Last Saturday was dinner. The ambience is so beautiful at night, big fireplace, just enough light inside the restaurant to relax and enjoy a good and relaxing meal, no rush. We had champagne, very good beer that smelled a little floral. We loved crispy quinoa tuna poke so much last time so we ordered it again, still enjoyed it a lot. We had Wood fired Branzino, wood fired eggplants, olive focaccia was excellent, solf crust outside and fluffy inside, delicious. Chickpea fritter and mango sticky rice with coconut cloud. We love the food, service, food came in perfect timing, not piling up all at once giving us time to enjoy each dish. Excellent staff. Thank you. Looking forward to our next meal there.“

“Our first time at Broma and it was great! James, our server, is a real pro: knowledgeable and unobtrusive. The menu is very multicultural. I had the chicken liver mousse - delicious! Then the very yummy chicken sandwich. My husband had the tasty crab dip and then the lamb ragout with pappadelle! Outstanding. We had no room for dessert. It's a perfect place before a concert at Shoreline. We will return.“

“On a warm, clear, windless evening fabulous views of the sunset from this rooftop bar. My wife and I ordered cocktails not on the menu, and they were well made. We had marinated olives with the drinks were large and meaty, The server Jessica was attentive and kept our water glasses filled. We expected the bar to be crowded on this Saturday evening but there were no crowds, perhaps because of an upcoming Stanford football kickoff, and the the noise level was low even with a DJ playing in the background. Definitely worth a visit. Reservations recommended.“

“Great atmosphere, we had team lunch on a Friday. Lucky that we had a reservation. For parties more than 11, they say each person’s spend must be minimum of $55. The place gets busy and extremely hard to find parking here. Plenty of vegetarian options available. I highly recommend the Cali-Flower and Churros. Everyone was happy with the ambiance, starters and drinks. All our Paella were average, they could taste better.“

“We went on Friday at 6:00 pm. There were only a handful of tables occupied, and even when we left around 7:30 pm, the restaurant was still less than half full - a bit surprising. Palo Alto now has three upscale Indian restaurants, so that could be a factor, along with New Year party fatigue and cold weather. Ambiance - 4.5/5 Beautiful, upscale, modern decor. A great spot for a date or a special celebration with friends or family. Also kid-friendly, which is a nice bonus. Service - 4.5/5 Excellent service throughout. Our glasses were always full, and the hostess checked in multiple times to make sure everything was going well and if we needed anything. They also included badam kheer on house for my wife's birthday which was a nice gesture. Food - 3/5 Overall, the food is good. Some dishes were outstanding, while others were decent but a bit subdued in flavor. Nothing was below average. The menu has similarities to Yellow Chilli, though I would personally rate Yellow Chilli higher in terms of overall flavor. Presentation across dishes was excellent. Outstanding Beet Coquette – Excellent texture and flavors Garlic Naan – Fluffy, crispy, and full of flavor Shaam Savers Kofta – A signature dish with a nice twist on classic malai kofta; creamy, tangy, and with just the right hint of spice Good Papaya Slaw – Great ingredients, but the flavor profile felt restrained Gol Gappa with Soul Curry – Beautiful presentation, but underwhelming taste; very little kokum flavor and almost no edamame presence Saag Burrata – Essentially saag paneer with burrata instead of paneer; since burrata is quite mild, I was hoping for bolder spicing in the saag Raita – Standard fare, similar to most Indian restaurants Motichoor Cheesecake & Badam Kheer – Both were good and enjoyable Overall I would return for special occasions, but for this to become a regular spot, I'd like to see a more bold and confident approach to flavors across the entire menu.“
