“A proper French bakery right on PCH is such a gift to this town. The croissants are legitimately incredible — shatteringly crispy outside, buttery and layered inside. The quiches and tarts look like they belong in a Paris pastry case. When I'm meeting clients for a morning coffee before touring SC homes, this is my spot of choice now. It's charming, relaxed, and sets a great tone for the day. Highly recommend.“

“I rarely write reviews unless a place truly deserves it, and this Moulin Café location at the Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point absolutely does. We visit weekly and even go out of our way just to come here.
The coffee is consistently hot, fresh, and delicious—and they’re one of the few places that still serves great old-fashioned brewed decaf. We usually order it half decaf and half regular, and it’s always perfect.
The pastries are excellent, and the customer service is outstanding. Antoine, the manager, is always friendly, respectful, and welcoming, and the rest of the staff is just as wonderful.

“Saffron Bakery is easily the best bakery in the neighborhood. The baked goods are outstanding, especially the insanely flaky croissants, rich savory pastries, and fresh, high-quality bread made with excellent ingredients you can actually taste. Everything is baked fresh and the textures and flavors are consistently perfect.

Their breakfast and lunch options are just as good, filling, flavorful, and made with the same level of care. On top of that, the prices are incredibly fair for the quality.

“I visited this store for the first time on March 5. Sam greeted me and immediately built rapport, making me feel so comfortable. I hope his manager realizes what a great employee he is. After I'd ordered my sandwich, he asked if it was my first time there, and he offered me a free pastry of my choice. How exciting! I chose the item that looks like a Napoleon, but the layers are not made of puff pastry (which was disappointing). The cream was delicious, and I enjoyed it immensely. It just wasn't as light an fluffy as I imagined it would be. And attempting to cut into it resulted in a squished dessert.

The vegetarian sandwich was one of those sandwiches that defies the ability to eat it like a regular sandwich. It was a roll so stuffed with veggies and a yummy pistachio sauce (I added fresh mozzarella for protein), I'd have had to unhinge my jaw to take a bite out of it. Since I was eating in public, I chose to be a bit more civilized. ;) I managed.

The broth was nothing memorable, and the rice noodles were excellent. A good addition to the herb plate would have been some mint and additional beansprouts.“

Banana lovers, you must try her chocolate chip banana cake! “The cookies are delicious, definitely would come again. They have weekly flavors, so you never get tired of the same old cookies. I got the Benson Boone Moonbeam Ice cream cookie, and it’s amazing. My favorite cookie, however, is the original chocolate chip cookie, it’s super sweet and warm, and topped with sea salt. Luckily, the original chocolate chip is always a choice of cookies you can buy.“

When we realized this location was closing in 10 minutes, we were hesitant to go in because the young lady was sweeping the floor. I work in a service industry as well so I understand how 'last minute' guests can be 😉. She was quick to make eye contact with us as soon as we walked in. She also stopped cleaning right away to service us with a smile. She was friendly & patient and said we would be able to get another coupon like the one we used for my birthday if we complete a survey. “Moulin in San Clemente is this adorable French bistro that's totally transporting. The vibe's cozy and it feels like a mini getaway. We sat outside and it was perfect, beautiful sunny day and the outdoor seating is gorgeous. I went for the omelette special with mushrooms and French ham and it hit the spot, eggs were perfect and the flavors were great. My wife loved the Croque Monsieur sandwich. Customer service was outstanding, the staff were super friendly and on point. Oh, and the fresh squeezed orange juice was amazing! They've also got this cute little market thing going on which was a nice touch. If you're in San Clemente, Moulin is a solid pick for a chill French meal. We'll be back.“

Most days my coffee is already at the counter by the time I make it to the register. Nice job guys.“

“They didn't have much of a selection when I went, but all I wanted were the pretzel bites and they had those. Otherwise the options were cinnamon pretzel, cinnamon pretzel bites, or regular pretzel bites. Seemed odd, but maybe it was the timing of my visit. If I'm craving something specific I'll probably try calling in advance next time before making the trip“

“This place has a crazy variety of meats, different cuts, styles, you name it. Prices are pretty much on par with regular grocery stores, but just a heads up, the meat is frozen. Props to them for having good spices and making it a one-stop shop, especially if you want to put together a small charcuterie board or just whip up some pasta for dinner.
They do have a small selection of fresh produce, or maybe it was frozen… honestly, I forgot! But for certain items, I think it’s a bit overpriced. This time, I grabbed the Argentinian Bombon sausage, paired it with some crusty bread and chimichurri, super tasty!“
