“I feel that Moulin in Laguna Beach is a bit better than this location, but I still had a good experience here. One thing that has always disappointed me about Moulin is the size of their lattes—they're just too small. I wish they offered larger latte options on the menu. Other than that, everything was good, and I would probably come back more often if they served bigger lattes.“

“Had a great experience at Saffron Bakery. Everything was fresh, buttery, and beautifully made. The pastries had perfect flaky layers, rich flavor, and looked just as good as they tasted. The pistachio pastry and chocolate croissant were especially amazing.

You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients and put care into their baking. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere too. Definitely one of the best bakeries I’ve tried in the area, highly recommend!“

“I visited this store for the first time on March 5. Sam greeted me and immediately built rapport, making me feel so comfortable. I hope his manager realizes what a great employee he is. After I'd ordered my sandwich, he asked if it was my first time there, and he offered me a free pastry of my choice. How exciting! I chose the item that looks like a Napoleon, but the layers are not made of puff pastry (which was disappointing). The cream was delicious, and I enjoyed it immensely. It just wasn't as light an fluffy as I imagined it would be. And attempting to cut into it resulted in a squished dessert.

The vegetarian sandwich was one of those sandwiches that defies the ability to eat it like a regular sandwich. It was a roll so stuffed with veggies and a yummy pistachio sauce (I added fresh mozzarella for protein), I'd have had to unhinge my jaw to take a bite out of it. Since I was eating in public, I chose to be a bit more civilized. ;) I managed.

My favorite items on the menu are Almond Croissant, Cream Broiler and Almond Cake plus all the rest of the pastry they make. “Came here a few weeks ago with my little one, was purchasing a couple of donuts, a bottle of milk and a can of Coke. I didn’t realize they didn’t accept Discover cards, only Visa and Mastercard if I’m not mistaken. Long story short, my card declined and a sweet, older woman working that morning said I could leave my name and number and take my items, so long as I came back and paid what I owed. Of course I went back during my lunch break that very same day to get some cash and headed straight to the donut shop to pay my total. The kind lady didn’t have to do that, she could’ve just said “sorry, come back next time”, but she saw my babygirl with me and said she couldn’t let us leave without our treats ❤‍🩹 thank you so much for your trust and generosity. “I have had many of Shadi’s cakes for different occasions and celebration; I have to say, they are all so delicious and mouthwatering. Her apple Tart Tatin is to die for! Her cheese cakes are out of this world! Especially her Mars cheese cake is absolutely one of a kind. You have to try it to believe how delicious they are. Banana lovers, you must try her chocolate chip banana cake! It’s so yummy 🤤 Also as a person Shadi is as sweet or I should say truthfully sweeter than her Sweets 😉 She is always smiling and so pleasant to work with. “The cookies are delicious, definitely would come again. They have weekly flavors, so you never get tired of the same old cookies. I got the Benson Boone Moonbeam Ice cream cookie, and it’s amazing. My favorite cookie, however, is the original chocolate chip cookie, it’s super sweet and warm, and topped with sea salt. When we realized this location was closing in 10 minutes, we were hesitant to go in because the young lady was sweeping the floor. I work in a service industry as well so I understand how 'last minute' guests can be 😉. She was quick to make eye contact with us as soon as we walked in. She also stopped cleaning right away to service us with a smile. “Moulin in San Clemente is this adorable French bistro that's totally transporting. The vibe's cozy and it feels like a mini getaway. We sat outside and it was perfect, beautiful sunny day and the outdoor seating is gorgeous. I went for the omelette special with mushrooms and French ham and it hit the spot, eggs were perfect and the flavors were great. My wife loved the Croque Monsieur sandwich. Customer service was outstanding, the staff were super friendly and on point. Oh, and the fresh squeezed orange juice was amazing! They've also got this cute little market thing going on which was a nice touch. If you're in San Clemente, Moulin is a solid pick for a chill French meal. We'll be back.“

I had to wait in three different lines though one for food one for sodas and one for desserts. The pan Dulce was very good and made it back on Amtrak without crumbling. Someone suggested this as somewhere to go when visiting the mission or the petting zoo. Definitely worth the 5-minute walk out of the bougie area and the regular people area that's affordable.“
