“I have now been to this location at least 5 times. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere cheerful, with enough seating both inside and out. I like that they have self-serve water. I keep wanting to try something new -- they have lots of options -- but every time I order the avocado smash toast, I am always so satisfied and delighted that I can't bring myself to order something else! The avocado is ALWAYS fresh and never past its prime. That must be hard to do. I appreciate their quality assurance. (I can recall from other restaurants or sandwich shops the disappointment of paying extra for avocado but getting fruit that has that weird/bad taste of old avocados.) The smash has these scrumptious little marinated cherry tomatoes and microgreens and the tiniest hint of heat from a little chili oil. Yum. A feast the the eyes, too. Toastique in Danville is a great place to have a leisurely breakfast with a friend or a post-workout snack. “Our family has known Peni, Sherry,there kids and grandkids for over 12 yrs now. Once I saw and smelled the bbq over 12 yrs ago I gravitated towards it and have been a huge fan since. Their island q is the best on the mainland and I recommend trying it all since I don’t have a favorite. You can see the passion and love that this family puts towards sharing a little bit of their heritage through their food with all of us. “Great local bbq/deli/meat market. You can get any type of meat from raw brisket, their famous marinated ball tip, I've even seen gator for sale here before. They also have packages that are great if you're going camping that will contain eggs and other protein so you can pay one price and head out. They make one of the best breakfast sandwiches around. Not into meat? They also have salad options and seasoned fries in various flavors. The staff is very friendly as well as knowledgeable and will gladly assist you with any questions.“

“Real, honest BBQ. I had the 2 meat combo with brisket, ribs, mac & cheese and potato salad. Best BBQ I have had since I was in Austin Texas! The owner was working hard with the rest of his employees and was the one to take my order. He seemed very nice and was helpful. I work within walking distance so I can see myself becoming a regular here. Canyons is an excellent addition to Castro Valley's food scene.“

Ricky and Amanda are the absolute best. Patrick is a great manager, and Jerome is also great. We eat in the bar area or restaurant depending on our mood, or how busy they are. “First visit, weeknight, not crowded. Food very good to excellent. Beet trio appetizer superb. Not clear if the 3 dipping sauces were for beets or brisket but good either way. Fiancee had wagyu burger, excellent. I had the combo plate…brisket a tad dry, fried chicken very good, corn bread muffin & cole slaw great. Extensive wine list, top labels. We shared a flight and each had a glass of bubbly. Portion size good … I had leftovers for breakfast. Server Jeff casual but on the ball with advice. Menu somewhat limited, especially for vegans.“

“I have had dinner with my family of three here a number of times now and we have not been disappointed! The staff have always been nice and the food has always been delicious. We always get the fried chicken platter with one extra side. This results in the perfect amount of food for us. Even with drinks and tip we are able to get a superb meal for, in my opinion, a reasonable price! I would definitely recommend stopping by this place if you are in the area. “I appreciate that this restaurant is open late. Our waitress was very helpful and kind. The food was freshly made and was well seasoned. My only complaint was that a lot of the food tasted similarly because of the spices used. I would have liked more variety. The sour and spicy noodle soup was very good, it reminded me of a dish a friend used to make for me. The grilled meats were also nice.“

I was blown away by the customer service to start, everything was explained in a way that was easily digestible(literally) and the Ball-Tip sandwich recommendation was right on point. Sandwich was probably one of the best I’ve had in my life ,next time getting extra meat. Before heading out I was greeted by a different cashier, a young lady ,and asked her could I buy a single rib to try, after trying the ribs I know for sure this place is a favorite of mines now for sure! 5 stars!“

However, if you want Coke Zero, they don’t have it so every time I go there, I always ask for Coke Zero just to place a seed into their minds to try stocking it.“

“I've been eating here for years. I love the expanded menu, but the food is just not as good as it used to be. The Tri-Tip used to be really exceptional. Lately, it's been fatty and just ok. The grilled chicken breast was also not as flavorful as before. You get the feeling they are either cutting corners or not caring as much anymore.“

“I only got 8 ban chan, that's still ok. Just the side dishes alone made coming here worth it. The Yuk gae Jang spicy beef soup was very delicious, I use it as a barometer to determine the level of the chef kind of like you can use plain fried rice to determine the level of a Chinese chef.

1/2026- The potato ban chan is my personal favorite, followed up by the bean sprouts and kim chee.

“Came here on a Tuesday night around 7pm. Probably only 4 other parties and got sat immediately. Older lady serving us came with waters and took our order within 5 minutes or so. After ordering, she came by with silverware, plates, and the apps (bon chon) which was pickled radish and kimchi. We ordered the cold noodles and hot stone bibimbap. About $20 per entree and came out to $46 after tip and tax for just 2 people. The perfect amount of food and made just right. Would definitely recommend if you love a local Korean spot that isn’t too crowded.“

The bbq Hawaiin chicken was so good both times, but the chicken Katsu lacked seasoning but was crunchy and hot. I loved the macaroni salad! I will still eat here, but I will order the bbq chicken

“Pleasanton, CA. Onolicious kalua pork, not too salty, zero fat or grease, it was great! Nice cold fresh Hawaii-style mac salad and rice. Perfect L&L taste.I’m a kamaaina and I stumbled across this L&L while charging my electric car behind the nearby store. Was i super happy to find this!
