“Staff is very friendly and helpful, as far as I can tell, 5 tastings for 15 bucks is the cheapest tasting around and the wine is great!Not to mention, if you decide to buy wine, that 15 is taken off of your transaction of $25+ bottle or more.“

“My mom & I visited just the other day for a quick 3 day weekend in Monterey & Carmel-by-the-sea & just casually walked right on into the Shale Canyon Wine tasting room
& couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing & informative tasting experience! We unfortunately didn’t get the name of the extremely kind woman behind the counter but she more than made our experience memorable & magical and we hope to be back in the future to try more wines!“

“Great central Carmel location amongst galleries, bakeries, coffee shops, bookstores etc. In good weather ask for the patio they take reservations by inside vs outside. Great atmosphere out there… old building, stucco, vines, etc. It was cool but they have plenty of heaters. Great food… had bruschetta appetizer which is loaded with diced tomatoes and smoked flavor (grilled bread). Also the di stefano salad, it has crispy goat cheese, roasted beets and fig-balsamic dressing. Excellent, highly recommended! Had the cioppino which was excellent. Good wine list. Eat here lunch OR dinner.“

“This place was magical from the second we walked through the turquoise-colored door with its old fashioned door knob. We had no reservation & we were coming from Fieldwork brewing (so my hubby really needed to eat). They had no spots available (reservations are nearly necessary here on Fri. & Sat. they informed us later). However, they promptly set up backyard heater & provided blankets for our quickly provided outdoor seating. We ordered 2 shots of mezcal (cause we were outside & it was kinda cold), which the manager informed us they only served the best ;) They sent out it a waitperson who informed us “I’ll be taking care of you tonight.” Which turned out to be true from the service to dinner/dessert recommendations, and packing up our leftover beans to take home. Eventually, they moved us inside because of a cancelation. And I haven’t even started on the carefully crafted cocktails & food. So meticulously crafted, and presented. I rarely favor restaurant food over my own cooking ability, but I can confidently say their food is way better than my own lol. Again, everything was beautiful, perfect, & delicious! Also, I’m thinking the line for coffee & morning eats at their sister bakery Alta can attest to amazing, soon to be Monterey culinary fixture. Thank you for the memorable night & dinner Cella! “Loved absolutely everything about this spot!! Not only is the food amazing, the drinks are delicious and the patio is perfect. They are also the most dog friendly spot I have ever experienced. Water bowls and a dog menu are provided for your meal if you bring your dog(s) with you. I had to take advantage and I’m pretty sure the dogs would give it 5+ stars as well. Heidi took care of us, but the whole staff came by and said hello and made myself and the dogs feel so welcome.

“An unassuming European bistro with beautifully-done dishes that will leave your senses delighted and your belly happy! Every dish that we had was delicious — escargot, FOS, lasagna (special,) gnocchi, profiteroles (special,) and Pistachio cake — and we couldn’t stop raving about the lovely, airy texture of the handmade Italian gnocchi and the deep richness of each of the dishes that we tried. A favorite now in the area, that every local should try! The owners, Frederico and Sabrina were such gracious and beautiful hosts, and they made us, and every guest in the restaurant, feel as if we were treasured family coming together for a meal. A must-eat-at establishment!“
