“Probably the best if not one of the better all you can eat asian hot pot style place for miles, we drove 35 minutes to get here. Usually a smallish wait to get seated. Seating for small and large groups. Great base soup options, especially spicy miso. Great meats and sides to order, and great sauce options for dipping or added flavors. Also Great non-meat ingredient options (except fish ball options, just one there) where it fell to 4 stars was service. Now we know it was a busy weekday after new years, but long waits, and inattentive servers, wrong things brought. To be fair things like more base soup arrived quickly, everything else was slow and often not what we asked for. Here is the important question, would we drive that far again to this place? 100% yes, next time we all get a chance to go on a week day to their excellent lunch menu special, yes we will. This was our 3rd trip here. All the other hot pot aspects where totally worth it and we hope for better service and not worn out staff making excuses. I don't want to dissuade anyone from going, just know it may be 5 stars, or at worst 4 stars, but the food is worth it either way. Dinner and weekend is also excellent dining for hot pot, just a little more expensive, but includes more and often better ingredient, appetizers and meat options. Also this place has a definite Korean flavor spin, but still has the asian classics too. So when hungry, and love soups and food and spicy options, then this is a great place in this area. Thanks.“
“Absolutely loved Mad for Sushi! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The all you can eat menu was packed with fresh and delicious options. Every roll was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The appetizers, sashimi were all included and just as good as the sushi. The service was fast and super friendly; the staff made sure we were happy and our plates were never empty. The atmosphere was vibrant and clean—a great place for a casual night out or a special occasion. We left full and satisfied! Highly recommended for sushi lovers!“

“I recently visited Hana Japan with my family, and we had a blast! From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was so welcoming. Our chef was super entertaining, showcasing impressive skills while cooking everything to perfection. I loved how interactive the whole experience felt, and the flavors were incredibly vibrant! This is more than just a meal; it's what a Japanese steak house should be. Definitely coming back!“

“My daughter and I love this place...not just the food, but the restaurant atmosphere and staff as well. We come here once a month after school pick up and sit at the sushi bar in the early afternoon...the chef is great and the atmosphere is fun, and if that wasn't enough there the portions are fantastic, too...“

“Good food, friendly service, fun times. But when your table is done, move your crew along so others can also enjoy it!! We waited extensively even with a reservation. It stresses the staff and the system and prevents the restaurant from serving more patrons!“

“This sushi restaurant its so good! The deluxe uni handball is SUPER tasty. I could have eaten 50 of them.
We ordered soft shell crab, which was a smaller crab than I am typically used to at ither places, but it still tasted good and had a nice crunchy texture.
The mix tempura was probably the best tempura I've had ever. The texture was light and crispy and not soggy at all (which is very easy for it to get).
Then we ordered chicken udon for our 3 year old, who lodged the noodles and broth.
We ordered the Deluxe sashimi as our main dish and it was absolutely delicious! I loved the ice underneath the radish to keep the sashimi cold (my daughter loved it too and kept eating it).
They gave us edaname beans and green tea ice cream complementary which was nice before abd after the meal.
I highly recommend!“

“Absolutely amazing nigiri! They share a space with Jungdon Katsu which means you get the best of both worlds.
The nigiri was amazingg!! We got some to try their nigiri, we were mainly there for the Katsu. But the portioning was so good with the Tuna that we ordered more (and we even got a bit of a bonus from the chef).
The fish ratio to rice was spectacular.
I've seen poor reviews about the service/speed, which I could see happening if things get busy. There was one server for all the tables, the food is made to order so it takes a bit to get your food. We went on a Thursday night and had one party ahead of us. The food took 20 mins to get to us. However the KATSU was PIPING HOT! The nigiri was also quick to arrive.
You order via QR code and the server was polite so I couldn't see anything to complain about the service besides the speed.
The place is a bit hard to find but I liked the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant.
Overall amazing experience. I'll be writing my review for Jungdon Katsu as well!“

“Excellent quality healthy and authentic Japanese food at affordable prices. Service is fast (usually 10-15 minutes wait, but sometimes only 5!) And the place is very clean.
Very good spot for a date, or lunch/dinner with your parents. Also a great everyday lunch spot. I try to eat here once a week at least - when I need a healthy meal Asian style.
My favorite is the miso soup and side salad, add a rice and it's under $10. There are many food options in the $10-15 range for a full meal. My favorite soup is the vegetable udon noodle soup. I also like that they have soda pop available with no artificial sweeteners or high fructose corn syrup, so I can enjoy a soda sometimes without feeling too guilty about it.
The sushi is also great, and the teriyaki dishes yummy.
Best overall restaurant for healthy Asian food that isn't expensive and you can eat here any day, their open for business hours are consistent.“

“Best and most underrated ramen in the Bay! The broth is so flavorful, the texture of the noodles is perfect, and the pork belly is so crispy. Good portions for the price and the owners/service are great. My personal fav is the TanTan! Can be a little salty so request less salt :)“

“Hanabishi Japanese Cuisine is an incredible restaurant. The environment is relaxing, and inviting, and the service is remarkable. I was also amazed by the affordable and fair prices they charge and the outstanding service and attention to detail. This is easily the best affordable sushi restaurant in Livermore. Thank you, Hanabishi, I look forward to my next visit!“

“The beef broth ramen is absolutely delicious and highly recommended! We also enjoyed the sushi, especially the yellowtail roll. While they don't have a specific kids' menu, we easily created a great meal for our child by ordering a mix-and-match of side noodles and grilled shrimp.
Lastly, the green tea ice cream was so good!“

“Low key, family-run sushi spot out in the burbs. I usually get sashimi or one of the rolls. Now if you want to throw caution to the wind, get the roll called "I don't know". It's chef's choice, and it depends on the ingredients on hand that day. Sometimes it's great, sometimes less so. Regardless, the portion is always generous, and it's always a surprise.“
“It can get busy really quick and for a great reason! This was one of the best ramen in the area, flavorful, great portion and amazing all around. It was not heavy greasy and the noodles were perfect.
Hubby and I only got the ramen but will def come back for the mazemen noodles. Their sides were vary flavorful too.
Good atmosphere, clean, small and the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable of the food, really appreciated that too.“

“It's small, so the wait for a dine in table can take a bit, but the food quality is worth the wait. Our family has loved everything we have tried. this is one of a handful of local restaurants my 10 year old some will never complain about!“

“Tried Matzip recently under the new management and wow — everything was amazing. We ordered the buldak fried chicken, soy-garlic fried chicken, and jajangmyun, and each dish was spot on.
The fried chicken was crispy to absolute perfection — the kind of crunch you normally only find at top spots in Korea. The jajangmyun noodles were perfectly chewy and flavorful, exactly what you’d expect from an authentic Korean Chinese restaurant in Seoul. Even the side dishes, especially the kimchi, were fresh and balanced just right.
Overall, the food exceeded expectations. Highly recommend giving it a try and experiencing it for yourself. Matzip under new management is definitely worth checking out!“

“Very impressed. I'm a bit of a sushi connoisseur. I travel for work and usually find the highest rated sushi restaurant in each town I visit. While this wasn't the highest rated, it was walking distance from my hotel and convenience won out. I wasn't expecting much from a strip mall sushi restaurant, but the quality ended up being on par with some of the higher-end places I've been to. The fish was very fresh with generous portions on the nigiri. The chef and hostess were both very friendly. I didn't eat inside but the place looked very clean and decorated well. Prices were very fair, especially considering this is the bay area.
I'm only in town one more day but I will definitely try to return. Highly recommended.“

“Chose to come here on a spontaneous Wednesday night and ordered the nigiri and sashimi boat for our table of 3. We could see the chefs carefully crafting the boat while we enjoyed some of their appetizers. Food and service was amazing!! One of the servers saw us playing a game on our phones and striked up a conversation with us, he was so incredible friendly. Will definitely come back again!!“

“Randomly walked in while I was looking for food during a stay at the hotel next door, and was very happy I did. Place was only 20% occupied in a Friday night, so service was very personal and attentive. The food was among the best sushi I've ever had in the Bay Area. Also pretty unique and just a little different from other places. I will say they the price level is also just a tad higher (rolls around $20 and some significantly higher), but I totally see this justified by the quality of the food. Overall, very highly recommended. I would certainly go back if I was staying in the area again.“

“Delicious and definitely fulfilled our sushi craving. I highly recommend Pocket Sushi no chopsticks required easy to eat, full of flavor, and so pretty to look at. I stopped by after work to pick up a few different types of pockets, the service was great and the food was fresh and made quickly. I waited no more then ten minutes for them to make my six item order and they brought it out to my car which was also very nice. We will for sure be back for more!“

“This place is such a hidden gem. The sushi is incredibly fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The caviar just melts in your mouth, and the rolls are perfectly balanced.
It’s got a cozy, unassuming vibe, and the service is super friendly without being overbearing. It feels like one of those spots you want to keep to yourself but also can’t wait to tell your friends about. Definitely worth checking out if you love good sushi!“
