“I really appreciate this KFC for being one of the few truly accessible drive-through spots in Oakland. It’s easy to get in and out, and the staff are always patient and respectful — that goes a long way.

The food’s consistently solid, too. The biscuit with gravy is my favorite — warm, simple, and satisfying. The three-piece chicken tender meal with fries and a root beer always hits right.

It’s just nice to have a place that feels dependable, both in service and food. Thanks to the team here for keeping it that way.“

The roasted cauliflower with red beet tahini, broccoli with chimichurri and toasted garlic, and sweet potato with chimichurri were all delicious!

The whole rotisserie chicken was just OK. It was a little dry and not very seasoned on its own. It came with two sauces, and I chose the chimichurri and chipotle yogurt. The sauces definitely made the chicken much better, but I wouldn’t want to eat the chicken by itself.“

“Was told by a gentleman operating the gondola at the Transit Center to try The Bird. Said it was the bear chicken around. The prices seemed okay but when we got the sandwiches, the price was even better. Biggest piece of chicken I'd ever seen on a sandwich. Taylor tots were great and the drinks allowed for multiple refills.“

“Okay wow. My kids love this spot and I never tried it bc I thought it was just whatever but I finally ordered a single tender for myself to see what the hype was all about and it was so good!!! I got mild which is just a tiny kick but not where you need to find water and it was so good! Amazingly crispy even after waiting after I had driven home to eat it and the pickles and super soft slice of bread was the perfect complement. The batter is very tasty with a hint of sweet and the chicken itself felt like great quality and wasn’t dry. Okay I get it now! Will order myself some food the next time the kids ask for this!“

“The buffalo chicken sandiwches are A1 👌 super crispy and flavorful. I also had the mac n chicken bowl which was good, but I dont think it was good enough for me to crave it again. I was disappointed with the lemondes. On doordash it said it was homemade, but I didnt really get that taste of homemade lemonade. The strawberry sunshine one sounded interesting but the flavor was not there. The strawberry kiwi had a better flavor profile, however I would skip it next time I order. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant itself was clean. They also had cheesecake 😋 which I am definitely trying when I go here again.“

As always, everything tasted great. They give you a spoon and fork because you will want to eat the gravy you have left with a spoon it is so good.“

“Ok, I really want to give them 5 stars, but it's gas station fried chicken y'all, 😆 so it can't get 5 stars. The chicken is unexpectedly delicious! Perfectly fried, no batter, just flour and amazing seasoning. Has a slight acidic, spicy vein running through the seasoning. Really quite satisfying at 2am when the bars close, or buy a bucket for Sunday picnic. It's a franchise, so you can find it in most cities, at least in California. But again, it's in a gas station convenience store, so it's not a dine-in, seated meal. Some of the best fast food out there! I mean, who doesn't crave fried chicken every now and then?!“

“Hands down the best overall lunch spot for me in the area. It checks off all the boxes: fast, healthy, affordable (SOMA <$20), quality, and delicious.

I’ve been coming here for 6 years and ordered using multiple ordering platforms, and they always get my order accurately and prompt.

Usually I take my order to go, but a few times I’ve eaten in, and their tables and seating is favorable. A few spots indoors, and several outdoors in the garden plaza with some shade.

Everything is good. I never had their vegetarian option, but I guarantee their chicken breast is moist and minimal gristly parts. Their KMG sauce is to die for, and their other sauces is a plus.

And now they have COLES LAW! Buy gas, buy beer, buy fried chicken to go. Thanks, Mike, for bringing me. After my second visit, this quite possibly is “America’s best-kept fast-food secret.”

“I like the chicken here ots just as good buying in person as it is being delivered. The pieces are big, food is always hot when I get it. They could do better on the sides tho. They are too small in size and the Mac n cheese needs more seasoning aka more flavor. I just get the 8 piece chicken and I got my own sides. Overall it's really good chicken and I will continue to eat at this spot. I love chicken so this 1 is right up my alley. I really appreciate his tentative approach. We enjoyed the chickens very much. Temperature hot and crispy while the meat was juicy. We waited for a fresh batch of muffins and they were excellent.
