“Marufuku has some of the best ramen in San Diego! We always go for the Hakata tonkatsu dx with the thick noodles (it usually comes with thinner noodles but you can ask to substitute). It comes with juicy chasu, a soft boiled egg, pickled ginger, corn, finely shopped woo ear mushrooms, and a sheet of seaweed. The broth is rich and creamy - exactly what you would hope for in a tonkatsu broth. It’s the kind of broth that turns to jello if you leave it in the fridge because it’s so rich. This bowl of ramen also comes with a slice of their decadent marinated kakuni pork.

They have a good selection of beers and sake to accompany your meal. There are also some fun imported juices and sodas on offer.

The blistered shishito peppers are a delightful appetizer. Slightly spicy and smokey with a hint of freshness.

Marufuku is tucked in the corner of the sky deck which has many other options for drinking and eating.

“A nice ramen shop on the side of the Carlsbad mall. First time going and it was splendid to say the least. Customer service was excellent, food arrived quickly and was delicious! See images for what was ordered - it was about $80 for everything pictured before tax and tip. Next time we definitely plan to try their sushi!“
