“This restaurant was a destination stop in my youth. They are not in my state, so I had to visit them again when I was out of town. This restaurant is clean, but I did notice several wet stains on their ceiling, which could be roof leaking. We ordered a 3 piece meal and a chicken taco. The sides were corn and beans. Everything in the meal was good tasting. My only complaint is chicken pieces are too small. The taco with visit sauce was also good. Prices are a little high for a fast food meal.“

“To me, this is the best mexican food spot in Escondido. I've been coming here for 40 years. The food is very traditional with wonderfull taste and big portions. My go to is the adobada burrito with whole beans. Little hole on the wall spot traditionally decorated. The ladies taking your order are always polite and friendly. You'll have your food in less than 10 minutes from ordering it. Highly recommend this place.“

“This is my FAVORITE Mexican food in all of North County. The food is AMAZING, horchata is amazing, the employees are really kind and I appreciate that they are following COVID guidelines not letting anyone inside...food is either ordered to go or there are a few tables outside you can sit at. Definitely recommend ❤️“

“We only had burritos, but holy cow! This is a gem. We live in L.A., and I honestly might drive down here for lunch again. This is the kind of business that should be patronized during these times, so that it survives to provide REALLY GOOD FOOD.“
“Do you like Mexican food? how about fresh chicharron and meats? fresh tortillas? OMG! the best anywhere. I travel from chula vista san diego up to this place for some chicharron! then i take advantage and get some tortillas. I always get a burrito because its fresh! FRESH! they have a butcher place so the meat is fresh all the time not frozen for their kitchen. you can get freshly cooked tortillas still warm from the thermal. they have lots of mexican candy and chips! my favorite place to go!“

“Hey, hey the pollo asado burrito with potaoes. Oh boy - fat and delicious. But BEST OF ALL is the green salsa - my, my. They gotta extra large container for sodas but i get that green salsa in that container. Oh boy. I keep a container in my fridge at all times. I go in there, ask for salsa only she automatically gets me the big container. My daughter lives in NC. i have to freeze at least 5 burritos to take to her on the plane. Its embarrassing, I tellya. If i don't my stay there is a nightmare. Its a good spot.“

“First time coming here tonight with my husband after living here for four years now.... Such a great place to eat along with authentic food and Mexican mariachi band playing. “3/15/2023 - Came randomly ( was starving )I was asking for recommendations and Ariamna and she said try the Que Torta (has all three meats ) was not sure what to expect but I was impressed! ( The bread ? is so fresh and toasted nicely . I got it with everything on it ♥️???Everything was made with fresh products and ❤️. I also got a fresh ( pineapple ?, orange ? and carrot ?) it was made fresh !It was so delicious ?Hands downs one of the best tortas I’ve had in a long time . I ate the entire thing lolPlace is clean They have a lot of tables and chairs .Customer service was great ??Bathroom was clean !Will come again ♥️❤️❤️❤️

“The cheese it not real cheese. It tastes like plastic. For the price you pay for, you should have real cheese.. The cheese is rubbery. I almost choke on it.. But don't get me wrong. The rest of the food it tasted good. Next time, I get no cheese.. I put my own KRAFT cheese on it..“

“This was the first place we found when we were staying in Escondido. The breakfast burritos are good but there is better in the area. I tried their rolled tacos yesterday, and it wasn't good. It's just really bland. The Carne asada Burrito was good.Service is great here. Staff is always friendly. Service is quick. They have indoor seating. They also sell ice cream.Overall, it's not a bad spot.“

“Type of food that is going to be available 24 hours in abundance. I’m glad that it’s this type. Most of these 24 hour. Tocas are good but this one is a little bit above the rest. Got the chicken tacos and they were hot and delicious. What more do you want at 3:39 in the morning?“

“Have you ever been to a taco shop? In my opinion they all share a lot of common ground, which shouldn't really surprise anybody. What set this one apart, and the reason I will return when in the area, is the lady who worked the front counter/ relayed what we wanted to eat/ cashier. She's probably been doing her job for a long time. I wish I could remember her name. Very nice, very friendly, very competent, very professional. I feel compelled now to go there and get her name and then complete this review lol. The food was good. I got two burritos and it felt like the bag weighed ten pounds!! The guy ahead of me got a couple of tacos that were about as good looking tacos I've seen (outside of Old Town).
I highly recommend Kotija Taco Shop. And don't forget to check back for Part 2 of my review!“

“The food here is absolutely amazing—they’ve got a little bit of everything, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. I’ve been working in Escondido for the past couple of weeks, and I have to give a big shoutout to Maria. She’s been incredibly welcoming, helpful, and always provides outstanding service. “Went through drive through late at night. Was worried it wouldn't be fresh since it was late but the man who took our order was very nice. I got the veggie burrito, my son's got carne asada burrito and rolled tacos. It took a minute but I could hear him cooking and cutting up the meat on the stove so it was fresh. Good flavor. Very nicely wrapped. Clean. It's attached to an am, pm.“

“• The Menudo does the job. Fair price for what your paying. A lot of food and condiments. 4/5 !Very Delicious!
• Preferably pay with cash unless you want to pay that extra $1 fee for debit/credit cards.
• I recommend trying their Tortas. Good size and a variety choices to choose from.
• The Lack of spiciness in their salsa it's kinda of a setback. Overall pass! 3/5

The girls who work here are all great, especially the one with the somewhat wavy hair and cute nails. They’re always kind and welcoming. I spilled my soda once and they didn’t even trip, but it still haunts me. Embarrassing lol.“

“I live in Temecula but every time I head south to San Diego I stop here in Escondido the food's good and they haven't raised the prices. So outrageously high like most places you can get a bean and cheese burrito and a quesadilla for about 10 bucks and that's plenty of food“

“One of my favorite Mexican spots in Esco. Last time I ordered a plate of fries (big enough for like three people!!)a fish burrito, and a medium tamarindo. The tamarindo was really fresh not too sweet. My food was done like 6 minutes after I ordered. Everything tasted incredible like it always does. I truly enjoyed the creamy Chipotle Salsa with my fish burrito.“
