Felton Music Hall Burgers • $
6275 Hwy 9, Felton

“The music hall is really cool. However, the dirty veggie tots were drowning in cilantro but didn't have cilantro listed on the menu, which was really frustrating for a cilantro-soap gene person. If you love cilantro you'd love them.“

“Fried chicken meal always seems solid and usually provides some leftovers. Chicken strips on the other hand were terrible. They were tough, stringy and the coating blows. You'd think it would be the same as the fried chicken but it's not even close. Service is fine when I've ordered take out never stayed to eat.“

Georgie's Cook House Burgers • $$
Felton

“Open daily through Spring and Summer and on weekends during winter. It's a great pitstop for before or after the Roaring Camp train ride with food that is quickly turned around. Our kids would not have lasted the drive to Santa Cruz with no lunch so this was very convenient for us.They serve burgers, nuggets, fries, ice cream, chili, and coffee.Cheeseburger, slightly on the smaller size so not so good for sharing. Tasted OK, would be good to pair with fries or chips for a more complete meal.Chicken Nuggets and Fries, these were also OK. Nuggets needed a bit more seasoning but the fries were hot and fresh with a good amount of salt.Extra stars for staff who dealt with a super-rude customer. He was cursing at them for letting someone "cut" in line in front of him literally only taking a minute to order and he was waiting in front of the window instead of to the side like everyone else.“

“I had the cheese burger and even though it didn't come out prepared as I ordered it (med-rare), I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and taste of a charcoal kissed beef patty chard to perfection,of which I had not tasted in, so very, very long. The regular style fries were also seasoned and delicious on their own without the help of ketchup. After tip we still ended up spending more than $20 per person (almost $50 for two) which is rather high in my opinion. I'd love to be able to enjoy this regularly, but it's going to be every once in awhile at these prices.“

“I took my neighbor's daughter at UCSC here for brunch. We got two Cali Croissants, one with regular bacon and one with turkey bacon, a ginger beer, and a Kombucha. The Cali Croissant is HUGE and will not fit into your mouth, unless perhaps you are a teenage boy. The Croissant was lightly toasted and delicious. My fruit side came with a nice mix of fruit: actual strawberries and blueberries, as opposed to just the standard grapes and melons. I really appreciated that. Service was friendly, but they don't really check on you when they're busy. They just brought us our food and the check. The only drawbacks are that it's crowded inside and the prices are not student-friendly. Not prohibitively expensive, but a little pricier than your typical breakfast and brunch spot. The quality of the food was great, though, so the pricing is somewhat justified.“

“Such a great quirky little spot with incredible food. “It is SO GOOD and conveniently close in driving distance to the Boardwalk! The only thing that I didn't like is the parking because it is super tight. Only 6 cars can fit in the lot, otherwise you will have to park on the side street. The staff is really nice and restaurant is clean. So many great burgers to choose from.“

“Friends and I had brunch at this new jewel of a spot in Capitola. Right off the freeway with service being quick allowing us to get in and out. The calamari was lightly breaded with the best homemade cocktail sauce I've ever had. The onion rings fried to perfection and the veggie omelette was soooo cheesy. The food was mouth watering and then I took a bite and my taste buds did the cha cha cha. Cha Ching! I scored, food is is dynamic and well priced. The servers came back three times but didn't hover. The restaurant is colorful and vibrant just like the food. I couldn't resist taking a bite out of my friend's hot pastrami too!“

The he bbq sauce was perfect, not too thick, just right and flavor was fantastic. We had a large party and everyone loved their choice. The server Clay, was friendly & attentive. The restaurant was busy and the volume was quiet and relaxing. Definitely a wonderful experience overall. Can't wait to go back. Thank you to the complete staff.“

“Love traditional burger joints. I have been coming here my entire life and though its changed hands a few times, the current family is really sweet and helpful. I wish they took down some of the decorations and opened it up more but its cool as it is. It works for what it is. They make the food really good and are super sweet. I buy treats for my grampy and friends (I dont eat this kind of food) and the food is always top notch. Careful in the parking lot, there are cactus with a vendetta. Oh, get the hot fudge sundae and boss burger. Both great.“

“Divey place which is exactly what you want in an old fashioned burger joint. Burgers were pretty good, and that's a compliment from a self professed burger snob. So far this is the best old fashioned burger in the Santa Cruz/Capitola area. Service was great. Plenty of seating.“

Seaside Fish & Chowder (formerly Fisherman's Galley) Seafood • $$

“Our visit to seaside fish&chowder was a delightful treat. The fish was cooked to perfection with bomb tartar sauce to match. Also, we pleasantly surprised about the quality of the French fries tasted was like they were freshly peeled potatoes. The service was excellent; our waitress was very attentive. The decor matched the beach boardwalk theme, especially since we were on the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk with sand just a few feet away. You can easily make your meal a beachfront dining experience! 5-Star rating on experience, taste, and service. Thank you, seaside fish&chowder!“
