“Soooo good! My partner is English so grew up eating Indian food, and I lived there for a few years and would eat it regularly. We’ve been looking for a top-tier Indian restaurant in the Sac area for years, and we’ve finally found it with this place! An instant favorite.

We got chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken biriyani, samosas, and pakoras. All perfect and so delicious. Literally no improvements needed.“

“Tried Mantra in Folsom recently and really liked the vibe—nice, warm ambience that makes it easy to sit and enjoy your meal. The food was honestly the best part. The samosa chaat was a standout, super flavorful and well put together. Both the masala dosa and rava onion masala dosa were spot on—crispy, fresh, and really satisfying. I especially loved the peanut chutney, it had way more flavor compared to the sambhar for me. Service was okay, not bad but could definitely be a bit more attentive. Still, I’d go back for the food without a doubt.“

“New Owners! Delicious Persian and Pakistani (alternate pages of menu). We had their paneer appetizer). It had big cubes of soft Pakistani cheese in a tomato based cream sauce with finely chopped ginger. Fabulous. We also enjoyed a grilled eggplant with a Persian yogurt cultured from sheep and goat milks. The butter chicken was exceptional: he grills his chicken, chops it, then adds the juicy chunks of meat into his delectable sauce. His ground beef kabob was juicy and tender. I enjoyed an inhouse, freshly made mango lassi. Wow! We have enough leftover to enjoy a shared lunch tomorrow.“

The food was so delicious, it definitely hit the spot! If I were to critique it a little it would be the fact that they do not automatically include rice (and free refills of rice) with all their entrees. That was also something different from every Indian restaurant I have been to so far. I have been to one that charges extra for additional sauce, but never for rice.“

The Fish Tandoori was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of smoky flavor, tender on the inside with a nice char on the outside. The White Sauce Pizza was rich and creamy without being too heavy—each bite was packed with flavor. And the Baingan Bharta? Easily one of the best I’ve had, with that deep, roasted eggplant flavor coming through beautifully. On top of the great food, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re in the area. Will be back for sure!“
