“This is an interesting place, primarily known for their omakase (I think), but we came for the tsukemen. The tsukemen was tasty and presented with a dipping sauce warmer set up. I gotta say the egg was perfectly cooked, but I don't know if we really needed the bamboo shoots and mushrooms given the dipping setup.

The ambience is good and there is a unique water and condiment setup that makes it standout, although it also crowds the table a bit. Nevertheless, it's unique and adds to the charm of the place.

Service was great and we chatted a lot with the lady who was covering our table. She gave us a lot of background on the work they did to get the current menu in place and tweaks they are planning going forward.

Overall, this place was a refreshing change of pace. Tsukemen is not that common, the ambience is different, and the service was super engaging. I will definitely go back to check on the evolving menu. Highly recommended.“

“The manager made certain the restaurant was still open for us as we could not arrive until 10:00pm from our flight.We quickly selected our appetizer and main courses. The food was brought quickly. It was very tasty and served hot. The waiter was very nice and quite attentive. Great place! It is rare for a restaurant in an airport to be so good.“

“This is the best Nepali food in the silicon valley. The food is 100% authentic and fresh. They had the best thali I've had in a long time. The Thali comes on a brass dish just like in Nepal.

The tea and kheer are very flavorful.

The service is impeccable and welcoming. The staff will chat with you if you wish and are so happy to share Nepali culture.

The music is what actual Nepali people listen to instead of just Nepali classical

“This place is so good and cheap (for downtown Palo Alto). It's a great place to grab a quick, delicious bite! The onigiris are soft and flavorful, and the karaage chicken is perfectly crispy. I love the selection of flavors, and some of my favorites include the poke salmon, spam and miso beef. I did try the strawberry cream puffs and they were nothing special. Other than that, you really can't go wrong :)“

“Why has it taken me so long to write a review of Noelani's? I first encountered this little slice of island paradise because I joined an ukulele meet-up group that would play here together pre-COVID. Lots of selection of Hawaiian staples and favorites, always served up in generous portions. My favorite is the bar menu, which is also extensive and fun - haven't tasted them all (yet), but what a great value for the glass full of fun they pour. Live island music is always a treat and everybody is friendly.“

“Earlier this week on Sunday, I was craving some Korean fried Chicken, which I never had before. I did a search on Google and came across Bonchon in San Mateo. The first experience I had, I was not happy with my order because it was not accurate. I ordered an 8 piece, but only received a 4 piece and because it’s through a 3rd party nothing could be done. I decided on Monday I would order this time directly from the restaurant. Everything worked out, and I have to tell you even though my order was not right the first time? This did not take away from the quality of the food. I ordered the drumsticks extra crunch? No sauce, and the first time I ordered with fried rice, both were excellent. The seasoning, it was rich with flavor, and I have absolutely no complaints. The second time on Monday I ordered the same chicken a 4 piece, the corn with the mayonnaise, cheese and red pepper flakes, with a side of steamed rice. Everything was just perfect. I’m not kidding you it’s taking everything in me to control myself from ordering more today, and it’s just Tuesday. It’s just that good! Whoever the chefs are, you can taste the love in their cooking, it’s not just thrown together. There is Love in their food, and know this because my Mom’s food is just the same. Every bite is good. I don’t say these things lightly when it comes to restaurants. There’s not too many that impress me like this. All I can say is keep the love in your food, and don’t change the quality even if you have a million customers, don’t change your food. 5/5 for me, it’s a must try if you love fried chicken or Korean food. I don’t have pictures this time, maybe next time if I can upload I will. The chicken is so crunchy that even when it’s cold it’s still good and crunchy and not soggy. “I catered an event for over 80 people with Roost And Roast. Everyone raved about the food! The owner, Branden, was extremely generous and kind and made a special delivery to our event, after closing hours. Each tray was generously filled, and we had an abundance of food. I will definitely order from them again. It was a pleasure working with Roost And Roast and I highly recommend them!“

I tried their vegan breakfast and it was surprisingly flavorful and satisfying. the pancakes are a must. The homemade fruit spread with the pancakes is yumm ! My family ordered the huevos rancheros, fried chicken with eggs Benedict, and steak, and everything was delicious. The flavors really stand out.

“A no-frills place for authentic comfort Chinese (and a few other non-Chinese but still Asian) dishes that is very convenient for those arriving late at SFO airport (they open past midnight). Walking distance to a few hotels or to a bus stop along El Camino Real, which passes several hotels in the area. I ordered the beef rib pho and fried oysters. I was satisfied with my meal and the beef rib was tender and flavorful. If ever I arrive in SF late at night on another trip, I won't hesitate to eat at this restaurant again.“

“Stopped by The Mandarin Chinese while hoping for some great Chinese food in town. The location was convenient, and the space itself is quite nice, with the added bonus of upstairs seating. Service was smooth; we came on a Friday evening, got seated right away, and dishes arrived in a steady flow.

Unfortunately, the experience was a bit mixed. The sizzling rice soup was disappointing; it came out lukewarm and didn’t sizzle at all, with a watered-down broth. Definitely underwhelming.

That said, the rest of the meal was much better. We ordered Spicy Beef Tendon, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Garlic Snow Pea Leaves, Eggplant in Spicy Sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. Every dish was flavorful, and the Szechuan-style seasoning really stood out. The beef tendon dish, in particular, looked and tasted great.

Overall, while not everything hit the mark (and prices felt a bit high), the main dishes were strong enough to make it a solid option for Szechuan cravings; just maybe skip the soup.“

“Café Bunn Mi in South San Francisco is hands-down one of my favorite spots for comfort food!

Their garlic noodles are absolutely delicious full of flavor and perfectly cooked every time. I pay for extra noodles! I spoil myself like that all the time!

The imperial rolls and egg rolls are always crispy, fresh, and packed with goodness. For the imperial rolls I always pay for extra lettuce! They come with the vermicelli noodles and fish sauce!!!

Their fried chicken sandwich is another must-try: crunchy, juicy, and so satisfying.

And of course, you can’t forget the Thai iced tea sweet, creamy, and the perfect drink to tie it all together.

“Really good Chinese BBQ place. All of the bread items we tried were flaky and tasty, highly recommend the brown sugar one. The skewers were all solid, and I appreciated that the beef had a more teriyaki-style flavor, because too much cumin starts to get a bit sameish. In that regard, you should consider getting an order of the lettuce leaves to use as a wrap for the skewers, it's a great palette cleanser and adds some nice texture.

Would love to go again, but it's a bit far from my house and Chinese BBQ isn't something you can do too frequently.“

“We had a great experience at Yeobo, Darling. As first timers, we appreciated the suggestions that Linda provided. She explained the menu items well and provided great service! They had a grilled *Duck Breast special that we had to try & it was delicious and well-prepared. The duck jus and carrot gochujang served with it was so flavorful. (I'd recommend ordering the rice or the ssam greens to complement if you order this or the kalbi.) We also ordered the *YD Kalbi, which was perfect, as well. Like others have mentioned, the price point for this dish is a bit high at $76, but we enjoyed the dish and finished it. Other dishes we tried: *Anchovy Rice, which went well with the proteins. It wasn't overly salty and the crunchy texture at the bottom of the serving dish was wonderful. *Scallion Croissant - the crunch, the flavors, the butter with pork-floss - definitely a must order for the table if you love bread service. *Amberjack - Appreciated that this dish was light and refreshing, especially since we had duck and kalbi coming. *Milk Soft Cream with Misugaru Donut - I'm a sucker for fancy soft serve and this did not disappoint! The brittle was my favorite part of this & I'd definitely order this again. My husband tried the *Natural Oasis soju tea cocktail, which was light and refreshing. The restaurant is beautiful inside, though the space can seem a bit cramped. We were seated in a roomy area, so it wasn't an issue for us. I also appreciated the custom? tables. Each table appears to have a pull out drawer with extra utensils if you need them! I thought that was a nice touch. Overall had a great experience and looking forward to trying more of their menu. Spent about $345 for 2 people pre-tip, so take from that as you will.“

“This place has very tasty and authentic Hong Kong style food, even though it’s name makes you think it’s Vietnamese. In particular, the breakfast sets are a good deal. One of the sets that I like in particular includes a big bowl of rice porridge and rice rolls or steamed Chinese greens. If you pay one dollar more, you can get a Hong Kong style milk tea. All for around 13 or $14 dollars. You have to come before 11 AM. What I really like about the food here is that they don’t overwhelm the flavor with spices. Most dishes have very little or no salt and even the sugar is moderate in the Hong Kong milk tea. So basically this place seems very healthy. And if you need more soy sauce or salt or pepper or whatever you can add your own.“
