I’ve been to Sushi Ken in Fremont several times now, and every visit has been absolutely fantastic. This place truly never disappoints. The staff—both the servers and the chefs—are always so welcoming and kind, which makes the dining experience feel extra special every time.

One of the first things I love is the free appetizer they serve right away—usually edamame, fries, or sometimes both! It’s such a fun and tasty surprise to start your meal. The sushi itself is delicious and always priced at a great value, which means I usually end up ordering several rolls (no regrets!). The best part? “First time here. Spoke with the owner who recently did additional renovations to the restaurant. Ordered their Chile Rellenos for lunch. Tasty and good sized portion with a reasonable price. Interior decor is very rustic with a horse theme throughout. They even have life-size horse statue in front. Great for families. Very casual with an extensive open bar area. Free parking in front. Very good Mexican cuisine. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.“

You order at the counter and they give you a beeper that alerts you to come pick up when your food is ready. There was an indoor patio and they allowed me to bring a dog. Huge interior.“

On a good note, the rice was mixed with black rice which is nice. Accommodated my diet request, greatly appreciate that. Veggies are pretty good and tasty.

The food portions are a bit too big (I know complaining about that seems snobbish, but we're talking about breakfast) and it needed some more seasoning. I do not recommend you order eggs Benedict on bagel bread; it's too much bread and takes over the plate. But overall a good place for breakfast and brunch, just mind the lack of parking.“

The restaurant itself looks pretty rundown, however, with a lot of the decor being leftover pieces from the thai restaurant that occupied this space several years prior to Pho Lan. The ceiling also has a lot of visible mildew and sealant or something spread around that makes it look like it's in the process of being renovated, and the overall atmosphere is slightly dull. Other than that, however, it's quite clean. Staff was super friendly, however, and service was fast since there was only one other person other than myself there at the time as it was a weekday. I enjoyed the egg-salad sandwich with ham, cucumber, corn, and buttered wheat bread quite a lot. The pork bulgogi onigiri had great flavor, and I was quite impressed by the inventive wrap that separates the nori so that it doesn't get damp.

I was not quite so excited by the bacon kimbob, in part because I like my bacon crispy and this wasn't quite there. It's also quite dry.

Other Rice Junkies in the Bay Area have a specialty wrap with macaroni salad and a range of sauces, but this seems to be the first one that they're experimenting with toast-based items more. I did not try the Issac toast, which is their signature item here that features an omelet inside of bread. I would go back to try that.“

“We always enjoy dinner at Olive Garden. Recently we were here with a group of people and everyone liked the experience.
Breadsticks are always a good idea! We also had various Dips for the bread sticks. In appetizers we had Spinach Dip which was tasty and good quantities too.
Two of us shared an entre of Make your own Pasta. By the way, if you are planning to share it, it's better to tell them while ordering so they will bring it in separate plates.
Service was good even though it was a busy day. However out of 10, only 2 people were coming in another car and they were a few minutes late to the restaurant, others were all present but we still had to wait for them to get a table. So just a heads up for your reservations, that entire party should be present at the restaurant on time.“

Their shawarma sandwiches are pretty good too, though they seem to be inconsistent with how much meat they put in as sometimes there's only a small sprinkle of meat in there.
