“Gift card scam. Mikunis implemented a new protocol in 2022. Any gift cards that were purchased before a certain (unknown) date, and now utilized, will be zeroed out. Back story: I attempted to use a gift card today (April 2023) and was informed it had a zero balance. The server kept my card. I had a gut feeling, asked for the card back. I spoke to the manager about how I could have a zero balance when I had never used it. The manager informed me that corporate zeroed out all gift cards that weren’t used. In order for me to get my money on the gift card, I have to call corporate headquarters and “request” an inquiry; which I did to no avail. It’s not about “expired” gift cards. It’s about not informing consumers ahead of a new rule that gift cards be zeroed out before a certain date. I’ve used 10 year old gift cards at other restaurants without any problem. Biggest scam ever.“

“Absolute gem of a sushi place. I have lived in Japan and this is the most authentic look, feel and taste of a sushi place I have visited stateside. It's certainly not fancy, but it would not be out of place in a back alley of Osaka. Authentic prices too, very reasonable for the quantity and quality.

“Came in without a reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. Staff was friendly and quick. The food is the same standard that you'd expect so no complaints. Overall it was a good experience.

Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled vegetarian options. I'd recommend the vegten roll.

Parking: It's a pretty busy plaza so it was pretty hard to find parking.“

Prices vary from lunch to dinner was $27, plus drinks and takeout box was $6 time a tiny box that only fits 8 shushi. Order digitally from the table. This place is always packed, arrive early. Ice cream is one scoop per bowl, so order two for each person. Same with appetizers 2 pieces per order, so order more than one! Not bad for the prices. If you love shushi this is the place for you!“

We have been there a couple times now and will continue to go back. The lady in the back we overheard her being a little sassy but maybe that’s her personality type. Ide suggest if someone isn’t doing something correctly being a little quieter when reprimanding because your customers can overhear you speaking. The food is absolutely delicious.“

“I had sushi 2x today from two different places. I found this place on the second go around, and I think it was even more delicious than the first place.

I had the yellowtail, salmon, and tuna nigiri as well as the miso soup, and I definitely recommend. Everything tasted fresh, there was intentional presentation even for takeout (cute little flower and sliced lemons added), and the front desk woman was very kind and welcoming. I walked into the restaurant and was greeted by a young man behind the counter. I thought it was nice to see the menu very large on the wall. Easy for someone who wants to take-out. The establishment is nice and was very clean. I don't think I would have stayed because it was very hot inside. Almost as hot as it was outside. I think this restaurant needs better ventilation. That was my only issue. I ordered the Folsom Lake. It was VERY GOOD and the presentation was also very good. I will be going back to get this sushi roll again and getting it for take-out. Enjoy!“
