“Really fantastic gelato. There was a well-deserved line around the building and the guys working handled the rush wonderfully. Gelato worth the drive from SF, and the owner is lovely. I had espresso and chocolate. My husband had pistachio and ginger cookie (speculoos). The pistachio was in the top 3 of pistachio flavored things I have ever tasted. Bravo on the flavors. “What a fantastic hole-in-the-wall gem we stumbled upon! We were unfamiliar with the area, and found this place was open when most other sushi places were closed, so off we went. Did not know this was a tiny 12-seat strip mall sushi restaurant, but man... it did NOT disappoint!

Everything we had from the pork gyoza, tempura, teriyaki chicken, to the sushi (chirashi don) was perfect. A+ on the fish; large cuts of very fresh sushi, and perfect sushi rice. All at amazing prices.

If we ever return to Half Moon Bay, we will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this place.“

“This took me far too long to write, but I wanted to find the right words to say. My husband and I had been waiting two long years to get married. We postponed twice because of the pandemic and in the course of that time changed our venue to San Benito House. Let me tell you, that was the BEST decision we ever made. Not only is the venue itself incredibly beautiful and the food so delicious, but Kai and his staff bent over backwards for us and all of our guests. Kai is the ultimate hype guy and he took what normally would have been a stressful event to plan, and made it so easy and fun. I would (and will) recommend that anyone who is wanting a Half Moon Bay wedding, that this is the ultimate place to go. Our guests are still talking about the day and if we could, we’d do it 1000 times over just to experience the magic again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! “This is a Coffee House owned and operated by a local resident family. Yes, I’m a past employee from when the Granola’s opened. “Well prepared pizza with great fresh ingredients. The dough was just the right thickness, cheeses, sauces (garlic and pesto) were good quality, the ingredients were fresh and generous. Very friendly crew. In door dining clean and comfortable. Noisy fridge otherwise good. Parking very available and easy access from main roads (cabrillo hwy and san mateo rd). “I've craved a good NY style pizza for years here in Cali and recently had some when I was back in New England and was sad thinking it would take another year or so before I'd have some more but was SO happy to try some of this and it was SO good! It was perfectly crispy at the bottom and the sauce is exactly what I think of when I think of NY style pizza (went to college on Long Island so I really know what NY pizza is like lol). Even more amazing is they felt they over heated my slice so they didn't even try to give that to me and just apologized for it taking a bit longer but wanted to give me a good slice! Love that level of quality control ❤️ we WILL be back! I especially love that the prices are very reasonable for the bay area!

Update: we did come back and it's just as good, if not better than I remember! It's perfectly crispy, the sauce is exactly how I have tasted NY pizza while in NY for college, and my son ate almost a whole piece by himself, despite it being close to the size of his head 🤣 do yourself the favor and come have some fantastic pizza!“

“Outstanding food at very good prices. The scallops with mixed vegetables had a great white sauce with broccoli, snap peas, sugar peas, mushrooms, bok choy, zucchini, cabbage, carrot, and celery. Delicious! Shrimp and asparagus with black bean sauce was also very tasty with plenty of shrimp and lots of fresh asparagus. Service was quick and courteous.“

“We visited Flying Fish during the Pumpkin Festival weekend. Even with the crowds and hectic parking situation, our party of 10 was seated right away. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better.

We ordered a variety of dishes — calamari, fish and chips, clam chowder (both in a bread bowl and in a regular bowl), and the seafood cioppino. Everything was delicious! My favorites were the fish and chips and the calamari. Portions were great, the food came out fresh, and the flavors were spot on.

Overall, a fantastic spot for seafood in Half Moon Bay. We’ll definitely be back!“
