“It was my first time here, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. We ordered a variety of dishes, including dhai bata dev puri, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, kulchas (onion and paneer), chole masala, and kadai paneer. The service was excellent, and the food was simply amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful, while the chaat was a delightful burst of taste. The kulchas were soft and fluffy, and the butter chicken was perfectly balanced, not too sweet. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience.”

“Oh G Burger is a cozy place tucked on A Street in Hayward. With a wide seating area and bright, red, white and blue walls, it brings a more retro atmosphere, helped by the selection of 80's, 90's and 00's music. Aesthetically, it's somewhere between an old-school diner and a cafeteria, and I greatly appreciate that.

During my visit, the owner made sure to meet my needs in a timely and respectful manner. Ice for my drink was available on request, as well as water (and water cups). I noted that the owner was also very close with his regulars, but also willing to give a customer space if he felt that they wanted to be alone. It seems that management is in good hands.

On this first visit, I ordered the Hayward Burger combo. To be honest, I didn't take a closer look at the menu and just picked on the spot - almost none of the ingredients in the burger itself were anything I would have normally had. Based on its individual ingredients, I should have hated what I ordered... but I didn't! The combination of flavors made what would have been an unpleasant experience in lesser hands, a pleasantly surprising one. Even if I don't know whether or not I will order another Hayward Burger, it's certainly changed my opinion on bell peppers for the future. For that, I have to give a 5 star rating for the food - at any other place, I think I would have hated it.

“Quick & delicious— Came here two days in a row for lunch!

This restaurant has been here since 1988 & is the definition of a hidden gem. They are tucked away in the hills of Hayward, but also close to Cal State East Bay.

I am a sucker for quick lunches. At China Best Restaurant, not only is it affordable, you get massive portions. Each meal is cooked to order so you’re getting steaming hot & homemade food. You should expect a ~15-20 minute wait for your food, but I promise it’s worth it!

Their menu is quite large, but very easy to read & makes sure that everyone has something to eat. I was excited to try their beef with bitter melon combo (comes with chow mein & steamed rice)! I chose the black bean sauce. The second day, I ordered the same combo, but asked them to sub the beef with chicken. They happily accommodated my request & quickly took my order over the phone.

I was not prepared for the amount of food that was piled into that takeout container— and for only $15 too! Each combo could easily be 2-2.5 meals.

Both days, the beef and the chicken were succulent but still had the right amount of chew. The bitter melon was cooked exactly how I like it, still had a nice crunch! The noodles were seasoned lightly, which was a nice change of flavor for typical Chinese restaurants where everything is overly salty!

They have plenty of seating if you’re looking to dine in rather than order takeout. The restaurant presents itself as a fairly standard place to eat because the food speaks for itself. No need for fancy decorations. I will say, the restaurant is very clean which I appreciate. Next time I’m around, I’ll dine in so I can try out a bowl of soup.

Make sure you ask for some chili oil, I’m not sure if it’s house made but it’s a nice Szechuan style chili oil and it goes so well with the chow mein!”

Finally, a Mexican restaurant that had what we loved at El Jardin's while I lived in Manteca ... The taste of Authentic Mexican Food !!!!! I love this little cozy spot. I have actually been here to eat by myself which I never ever do, have called in an order to go 15 minutes after they opened because sometimes, I just feel the need for some "Little Mexico's" Cheese Enchiladas with rice and beans. (best refried beans around) My BFF orders either the Chiles Verde or Chiles Relleno plate. Price friendly, clean, good service, awesome food. The parking area is a little challenging however, I'll wait for a spot, their food is well worth the wait in my opinion. Try this place and share your experience.”

“Backstory. My partner and I have been regular visitors or semi-regular visitors to the IHOP next door for over 20 years.
They must have been a lot of takeout because every time we went to IHOP there was hardly anybody in the Great River parking lot.
Well we decided this weekend to actually go and check it out and funny enough, quite a few cars in the parking lot.
We kept it simple because we really didn't feel like eating much. So we just got chicken and vegetables, and chop suey because it is pretty much all veggie, and a couple of bowls of rice.
Everything was nicely cooked, the chicken was tender. Very nice lady waiting on us Yes we will return because we always like to find a nice Chinese restaurant where we can just relax and chill out for a while. We used to have one of those in Fremont but it closed. Sad to say so. We've been on the hunt for a while. A good find.”

These guys came into my wife’s work at Buffalo Wild Wings and since then I said I had to try it. I have to say I was impressed. It’s very comparable to Dave’s hot chicken however, I think their chicken was more juicer and their french fries are very well seasoned and they give you a whole lot of them. I got their Medium level spice and it was just the right amount of heat. You have to put the honey on it with some extra sauce, it hits good with that combo. Plus the sauce is a good french fry dipper. Definitely want to try a spicier level next time the heat didn’t take away the flavor and I love that”

“It's a place of it all, sweet breads and mexican food too. Sometimes you can buy bread from them at a low price. There's a lot of options for the sweet bread though, sometimes with jelly, some with a whole lot of sugar, which are my favorites. The staff don't walk around, you just order, they give you your bread and you're out. Easy, but if you order genuine food, it'll take around 7 minutes for them to serve a basic meal. They have a lot of options for a bakery. And their cakes look nice, I've never eaten one but they have some for display and they look pleasing. Overall, 4 for me, I love going there for either bread, food or ordering some bread to eat at home with things like beans.”

That's the way I like them . The burgers are generous for the lettuce and tomato and there are plenty of condiments. You can get sodas or shakes or both.
There are other locations around the East Bay, not as many as there used to, but they're all pretty much equally good including the two that are on MacArthur boulevard, one near High Street and one near fruitvale.
All in all, one of my go-to burger places.
Pro tip, have plenty of napkins ready or just bring your roll of paper towels that you keep in the car.”

I had the super taco carne asada, super corn quesadilla (similar to a taco but different & a super quesadilla) I got it without the pico de goya to keep it from getting soggy. That's the way I like them . The burgers are generous for the lettuce and tomato and there are plenty of condiments. You can get sodas or shakes or both.
There are other locations around the East Bay, not as many as there used to, but they're all pretty much equally good including the two that are on MacArthur boulevard, one near High Street and one near fruitvale.
All in all, one of my go-to burger places.
Pro tip, have plenty of napkins ready or just bring your roll of paper towels that you keep in the car.”

“Highlights:. The restaurant diningroom was clean but the kitchen could use a tidy up. Now it was dinner time so there was a bit of a wait but we received nice fresh n hot chicken sides and biscuits, even our french fries were hot! The down: someone ordered a chicken sandwich in there order and when picking up at the counter I over heard that they were out of the product. It would of been nice to know at the time of the ordering they were out instead paying and finding out later. Grant it, it was busy but I did over hear the supervisor several times attend the cash register. I am Latino and I know Spanish, but there was a lot of talking going on in the kitchen. I believe out of respect for the customers talking should be to a minimum. This could be the reason for their inefficiencies.”

“Don't mind my child's photo bombing hand, but it's a reference for how big their servings are I suppose. Most items are in the $20 range, but the servings are huge, so I think that makes it worth it.

5 stars also because I would like this spot in general to do well as I am a fan of food courts. I would like to try out the other restaurants here as well. But all that said, I thought the food was pretty good as well. My family enjoyed the kimbap, jajangmyun, soondubu, and teoppokki.

It was completely empty when I came, so the seating was comfortable. But if this spot gets popular, that'll be a problem as there are only like 4 tables. I suppose it's more like a takeout food court though.”
