“Taste of Lao Thai was one of those wonderful restaurant discoveries that completely exceeds expectations.
The service was exceptional—warm, caring, patient, and genuinely personal. They took the time to explain the menu, answer our questions, and help us choose dishes without ever making us feel rushed. You could really feel the hospitality and pride they have in taking care of their guests.
And then came the food… absolutely spectacular!
From the appetizers to the main dishes and all the way through dessert, everything was above and beyond. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, rich, and beautifully balanced. Every dish seemed to come alive with flavor, and you could tell that a great deal of care went into the preparation.
We came in for lunch and left feeling like we had discovered something truly special. Great food is one thing, but when you combine it with such sincere and personalized service, it becomes a memorable dining experience.
Taste of Lao Thai is truly a hidden gem and deserves to be discovered. We will definitely be coming back and bringing family and friends. Very highly recommended!“

“I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and I’m so glad I finally did. The food was very fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced for the quality. The braised lamb sandwich had soft flatbread, crunchy herbs and vegetables, a tangy sauce, and perfectly tender lamb. The service was friendly, warm, and the food came out quickly. Fava is a lovely lunch spot and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant lunch in North Berkeley.“

“Was really sad to see my favorite unique + quality brunch spot in the bay change format to being fast casual. It was such an easy brunch pick to take out of towners or friends to.

Now instead, they've become easily one of the best fast-casual food in the bay. So I really can't complain. I guess their format changed worked because I've eaten here more often than when they were full service. The value for the money you get here is pretty nuts. Still just as good ingredients & just as good preparation, all at a more approachable price point & form factor. What really gets me is I'm truly getting restaurant quality cooking for a unique cuisine I don't see very often, just a version that works better to-go. When you compare to some of the other casual lunch/dinner places in the area that have a similar format, it's really no competition. You'd be hard pressed to find a better way to spend $20-30/pp. I also love that they kept some of my favorite guilty pleasures from when they were a full service restaurant, like the knafe pancake.

Their in-house online ordering system is pretty slick and a good deal too. Works just as well as doordash without any of the bloated prices. Wouldn't mind seeing this spread around to more restaurants.“

I like the fact they have options to get smaller pick and choose items as well as having fresh rolls and momos, which the other similar Tibetan places don’t offer. “This place is absolutely incredible! I ordered pizzas for a big family ranging from 12 to 90 years old and we were all ecstatic!

I love the way the ginger comes through in the tandoori. The plain cheese is like a little black dress; goes with everything and everyone loves it! The old guy kept saying, “This is delicious!” and the kids gobbled it up.

It was also lovely to meet the owner. This is going to a new family favorite for sure!!“

“One of my go-to sandwich shops on Solano Ave. Great paninis – can vouch for the shrimp & avocado, tuna, or vegetarian. Comes with a decent side salad and packaged in a convenient, highly portable, reusable, compostable box. Service can be a little slow at peak times, but not too bad.“

“Jen and Cecy and the team at Cafe Soleil catered our wedding at the Brazilian Room, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, they took care of *everything* in the venue, and they were truly a joy to work with. Cecy was very responsive, professional, and patient with our many questions and requests. During the reception, the staff was wonderful with the passed appetizers and the bar, and the servers took care of us (bride and groom) with special attention. At the end of the evening, once our guests were done with the bar, the bartender even came out on the dance floor to teach us a line dance. :-) Jen is a treasure: her professionalism is suffused with genuine warmth, and we felt well taken care of from the very beginning of the process. I’ll even DoorDash it to my house when I’m craving it, but when I’m in the area, I like stopping by to eat inside. The restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is fast and efficient.

“Been to Barney's several times. Fantastic burgers and shakes. But be ready to spend a pretty penny (been getting more expensive). Got the Moroccan burger with chicken, and chicken patty was really well done. Highly recommend curly fries. Best part of the meal was the impossible mushroom truffle burger! Really good sandwich. Truffle fries and classic chicken were ok, can skip IMO. Turkish coffee and pink guava shake were excellent. Portions were huge, we had meals for the next day as well.“

We just love Jerusalem Organic Kitchen for a consistently well prepared meal, friendly staff, and really good ingredients! They serve a quick, casual, healthy, and absolutely delicious meal. Everything we have tried is great with balanced seasonings. My personal favorite is the Shawarma Platter. Don't miss the perfectly prepared salmon platter with a generous serving of salmon that won't set you back an arm and a leg. The salad with chicken shawarma on top is great too. And they, of course, prepare a great middle eastern platter and falafel platter. And if all you want is a sandwich or burger - you won't be disappointed. Get the idea? We like their food and for good reason - they don't try to be all things to all people - they do middle eastern cuisine and do it really well. Try it - you'll like it!“

“So glad to find out they reopened after being closed a while during the pandemic. Currently you have to pre-order a day in advance for pickup so it takes a little planning but so worth it.Their fried chicken is so crispy. I ordered it with waffle fries and they say they only fire up the fries just before your pickup time so that they're fresh. When I went to pick up my order, they let me know it would just be a few minutes because the fries were finishing and when he came out with my order, he said he accidentally made the salad but included both the fries and salad and threw in a vanilla pudding. Everything was so delicious. Even the bonus pudding had flecks of vanilla bean and tasted so much better than the instant stuff. The chicken and fries were enough for 2 meals.“

“I came to Olive Garden for my birthday with a group of 10 and Brian took SUCH good care of us! He juggled so many orders and questions with ease and a big smile. He was also so funny and vibed with our group so well! He not only made our night but multiple of my friends said that they’d never had an experience like this at Olive Garden and that they’d be back on the future.

We had a great time and really recommend this Olive Garden location (especially the “Chocolate Lasagna”)!“

They said yes and it was a very nice bathroom. There is also a courtyard outside of the restaurant with outdoor seating and shade. Very cute, quite comfortable. Highly recommend!“
