I thought this was a mom and pop place, but it turns out they have at least six locations in the Southern California area. Go to their website and check it out. You will not be disappointed in the atmosphere, the quality of the food, or the quality of service - and the prices are reasonable, too!“

“One of the busiest and best spot in Hermosa combining great food with a young fun atmosphere and cool decor. The outside patio is usually packed and you should def get a reservation at peak times. Inside has really nice comfortable boot and nice wall treatments that stand out on the pier in a good way. You really can't go wrong with the good here.. of the ceviche trio the cabo is our favorite.. being more of a traditional flavor. The shrimp taquitos are not only delicious but visually a great presentation. We have had tons of the dishes here and the seafood is wonderful as are the more traditional Mexican dishes and combination plates. The menu is pretty deep and the kitchen puts out great food pretty quickly even when its packed. This is one of our favorite places in Hermosa because it has such as great buzz and also excellent service, food and drinks. Has to be our #1 option on the pier.“

“I was looking for a quiet local place to ask my best friends to be my bridesmaids. I came across Slay and immediately booked a table! They were so accommodating when I arrived and poured me a much needed glass of champagne. Food was amazing! Bottomless mimosas were fantastic and you even get to choose different juices to add. My favorite was guava! Thank you Slay for helping me with such a memorable moment.“

“We had the Caeser salad and their famous burger. The burger is REALLY good. The patty’s meat quality is excellent and of a large size. The burger is tasty and juicy. They have a good selection of wines. We had a skin contact wine that paired really well with our meal.“

“Amazing food! I haven’t had a good meal like that in a while! I recently checked out some of the well rated restaurants in LA, such as RVR and I have to say this is hands down superior. The food, the vibe, and the server was also very attentive and friendly. The portions are very small and I felt like for the price, they could be a little larger.

“I had a wonderful birthday experience! Kevin made me feel truly welcomed and celebrated. The food was excellent — I especially enjoyed the calamari. I was surprised with a birthday dessert and candle, and the chef, Whitney, even came out to greet us with a rose and champagne. It was such a thoughtful touch. I would definitely come again!“

I went with a group of six, and we ordered a variety of dishes to share, giving me the chance to sample several entrees. My top picks were the ceviche marinero, langostinos, camarones a la diabla, and the tacos gobernador. The only area that could use some improvement was the service. Our waiter only checked in when we placed our order and when the food was delivered. We had to get up to request napkins and order additional drinks.“

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.“

“Blue SALT is absolutely best seafood in L.A. Not only do you get a generous portion of grilled fish or shrimp, but you get a choice of two sides and the price is super reasonable (hopefully they’ll keep it that way). Two of us paid $30 for a lot of great seafood. Two locations both amazing!!“

“We come here at least once a month. My usual go to is the mojarra frita, the seafood soup, the oysters and one of the shrimp dishes.

I really like the tostalitos with shrimp and octopus ceviche but that dish along with the other ceviche dishes including the new sashimi dish all have too much salt. Recommend ordering a side order of rice with any ceviche order to counter the salt.“

“Very good fish and chips. Service was great. It was a little noisy but that's normal for a semi fast food restaurant. There's food is by no means fast food as it's a seafood restaurant and the seafood is good quality restaurant food.“

“Today, I stumbled upon an amazing hidden gem that I just have to share! I’ve never written a review, but MB Grill in Torrance deserves it. My only regret? Not snapping pics—though I’ll definitely be back to capture it all! For seafood lovers, this spot is fresh, delicious, and fuss-free. Our server, Kay, was so friendly and guided us through the best picks on the early bird menu—great prices and amazing options! We had fresh oysters, shrimp crab cakes, crispy calamari, and irresistible parmesan fries. Oh, and the drinks? Absolute fire. Highly recommend!

“My friend and I had lunch on Tuesday. We arrived there around noon, and there was no line yet! There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. If it’s full, there is additional parking underground. As soon as we placed our order and found a table for two, there was a line of people. The fish (grilled) was good!! Not dry at all!! I loved that there were so many hot sauces to choose from. I also enjoyed the roasted yellow peppers…!! they were meaty and not spicy. Since I ordered a combo, I picked their hibiscus tea, which was tart and sweet, just the way I like it! I will definitely go back to try other items.“

“First time here and i will say they give the HEALTHIEST fillet portions I’ve seen in a looong time! BUT if you don’t order jumbo shrimp you’ll be pissed off. The regular shrimp are so tiny.

Overall everything was seasoned well. Fried to perfection and my catfish was so juicy. I didn’t care for the fries but that’s just me I’m not a fry person.

Hush puppies were good. Bread nice and soft! And the tartar sauce is definitely home made.

Don’t forget to ask for extra hot sauce (THEY WILL ONLY GIVE YOU 1) and if you hate pickles (like me) don’t forget to tell them you don’t want them.

4 stars is for the small shrimp, pickles, and the 1 piece of a piece of a PIECE of lemon they gave me lol

“Super good! Prices were good. Portions were big. Flavors were on point. You could tell, from the texture of it, the raw shrimp was really fresh.

Thought it was really creative that one of the salsas was chilli oil. Paired well with the ceviche and chips. Would of never thought of that. Really cool.

“It was such a lovely venture out for my Mom’s birthday, on Friday. Alex and Dominique (management) are quite lovely, and helped make our dining experience all the more, a joy! Love the new additions to the menu, particularly the Mini Steak French Dips. The Chicken Parmesan was excellent with the twist of those ‘pepper-like sweet’ tomatoes. only reason i docked a star for food was that the guac wasn’t as good as everything else. but i inhaled the chips it came with. i heard another table say they’re made in house. perfect chip. got a shrimp and fish tacos shrimp was great but that was one of the best fish tacos ive ever had AND they have a taco tuesday special? 🥳

have to say for the record that their Caipirinha was better than the one i had on vacation in south america.
