“Happily found Oriel by chance! Had planned to go elsewhere, however that place was packed & we needed to be in a calmer space., So we walked and found Oriel! So glad we did! Had some bubbly and snacks before heading to KCRW Summer Nights in Chinatown. Besides music by DJs and dancing, we thought we would grab another bite however nothing sparked interest so we returned to Oriel! Ate and drank &.were so satisfied with everything! Plus the staff are wonderful!
Pleasant, informative and caring! Reminds me I need to return soon! An oasis.“

“Stunning bar, perfect atmosphere!!!!!
I was SO SAD I was not able to stay due to a long drive and only was able to stop by for a cold brew coffee. They closed at 2 am though so I was so grateful they even served me at I think 10 min till close!
If I go back to LA some day, I WILL be visiting this bar! And not 1-10 min before they close!!
Dietary restrictions: Dairy Free - So Tired I did not check to see if it was milk or not - I don't even know what I asked for or got but genuinely just needed that caffeine.“

“Wife and I swung by for a work session. Staff was super friendly and the food was on point. Good non alcoholic options are available and the bathroom is gender neutral. There's a wall of post-its folks have left and the level of trans positivity and sapphic joy on those notes gave me all the feels. Can't wait to go again!“

“Such a great spot. Cozy and fun with tons of interesting fish, meat & cheeses to try. But what stood out above everything else was how helpful and nice the staff was. Tin Tin picked some great dishes for us and was super friendly. We can't wait to come back!“

“Great atmosphere and wine list. However many of the dishes were a bit over rich/ light on flavor. And look, I know, don’t go to a fancy wine bar expecting value, but the price of many of the simple dishes (salads, simple pastas without meat) were above normal even for LA. Service was friendly but slow“

“We are big time San Simeon Syrah fans so we when found out that they had a tasting room we booked reservations and were there a week later. When booking reservations they had many times open I was able to book whatever time I wanted. Maybe this is a restaurant mistake because when we arrived 10min before our reservation time we had to wait an extra 40min before we were seated. The host was never present at the host stand but always near the bar by the servers. When I asked her what happened she said her computer wasn’t working. So did you just forget about us? Other than that everything was great. Service was good. Food was good. Misters in the hot sun were good.
Wine was great“

“Fancy restaurant with extremely courteous, personable and friendly service, who informed us about the levels of spiciness. We really enjoyed the meal and the starter salad was extremely delicious and spicy, despite the fact that we got the “not spicy” version. The large main courses (Pad Thai and drunken noodles with pastrami) were unbeatably fresh and delicious. It is very crowded and too loud and shrill inside for our taste, but you can sit comfortably and quietly outside in the evening! Absolute recommendation!
Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options.

“I love Pine & Crane! Seriously amazing Taiwanese food. The restaurant is stylish, modern and clean while the food is very authentic and completely delicious. My kids were surprised at how tasty everything was. Healthy too! We will def be back often!!!! If they have it, the lotus root salad is a must! 3 cup chicken is amazing, wontons, etc… I want to try the wood ear mushrooms next!!!“

“My friend and I had an exquisite dining experience at Bar Sawa. Each course was prepared and presented to perfection. The place was a little tricky to find; there were no signs, and it was in the basement of a very unexpected building. You can also only get down there through the middle elevator! The instructions to get to the restaurant were emailed, but I didn't get to read it in time, so it was my fault. ? We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, ambiance and the entire experience. Highly recommend!“

“Amazing place with an all vegetarian menu (with vegan options available). The staff is super friendly. The chef Mario offers great customisations. The Caprese pizza is to die for! Everything was delicious- from the salad, to appetizers, to the pizza. Service was quick. Food presentation was great.
Vegetarian options: All vegetarian menu“
“The food was great. My gf had sea bass for her main. And they were able to modify some items for me as I am vegan. Very fancy wine selection at a very reasonable price. Fresh organic produce & biodynamic wines. Friendly staff! Get reservations ahead of times as it gets busy! Beautiful space, will be back.
Vegetarian options: They were able to modify things to make them

“The wine bar you wish you could stumble upon every night! Great Persian food- you can tell they use fresh farmers market produce. And arguably the best natural wine list in town. This spot is a real gem. Get the Nazkhatoun (eggplant dip) w/ feta, Ghormeh Sabzi or the Fesenjan - both delicious stews. And their tarts for dessert are excellent.
Vegetarian options: Nazkhatoun (eggplant dip) w/ feta, Ghormeh Sabzi, shallot dip, Shirazi salad (cherry tomatoes and cucumber), cucumber dip
Parking: Their parking lot is just south of the restaurant on the corner of Virgil and Melrose“

“The food is delicious and the wine list is long. Kudos to wine bar manager, Leanne Szymczak, her staff goes above and beyond. They are a well functioning machine. We ordered several items and each time our food came out hot and our glasses were kept full.“

“Great spot to have a relaxed drink with tasty light bites in a great atmosphere.Service is always great with good knowledge of the wines (natural) being poured. Love that they encourage a taste of the wine and have gotten great recommendations and being able to buy the bottle of what you’ve been drinking is an extra bonus. One small but important aspect for me is the music selection. Each time there has felt uplifted with the music choice perfectly matching the vibe of the crowd/evening!As someone starting to venture out more alone, I’ve felt very comfortable here with just myself, a couple glasses of wine and a book!“

“Great little wine bar/restaurant on York Street in Highland Park. The wine selection is fantastic and the food is also quite good. My partner and I are plant-based and there were a few good options to pair with the wine they offer. The atmosphere is very cool and relaxing and the service is excellent. Highly recommend and will be back!“

“Delicious little wine bar. We were looking for a place to eat, and everything near us was closing soon. I was searching on Yelp & found this spot. So, we jumped on the freeway and headed on over after making a reservation. Everything was SO good. The cheese & meat option we chose was great. The little tuna snack was flavorful, and the potatoes were amazing! The pizza was also really good. I had one glass of wine and it was refreshing as well. Great little place with the perfect chill vibe. Can't wait to come back!“

“Angelini Osteria totally lived up to the hype! We had a great dinner there that night and I can't wait to go back again soon. Let's start with the star of this show: uni pasta. Oh my gosh, it was divine! The uni was so fresh and creamy and the pasta itself was cooked just right. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. We also tried the baked lasagna and it was delightful. The layers were perfectly balanced and each bite was full of rich, savory flavors. Let's not forget dessert! We shared a few different things and they were all great. The tiramisu was fluffy and decadent and the chocolate mousse was rich and smooth. Overall, Angelini Osteria is definitely a must-try for Italian food lovers in Los Angeles. The food is incredible, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes on the menu!“

“Sitting on the long table, celebrating life with family and friends new and old. Was all the more delicious with the dishes that kept coming out. I didn't take many photos as I was too busy savouring the taste of EVERY dish! If you get an opportunity to visit Butchr Bar, please do! My favourites, and it's hard to pick a favourite. The Tomahawk (shared with others), the beef tartare and the sliced cooked beef of deliciousness!
I am so glad I had a chance to enjoy BB before heading back to Australia. Thanks for having me guys!“

“I walked in expecting typical bar fare—maybe some fried chicken and a few snacks—but what I experienced was nothing short of extraordinary. The mentaiko spaghetti was a standout, easily the best I’ve had, even compared to versions from Japan. The soy noodles were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of crisp to complement the dish.
The jamaica salad, with its refreshing mix of celery and grapefruit segments, was a surprise hit. I found myself unable to stop eating it, and the dressing was so good I could have sipped it straight from the bowl.
And then, the desserts. Wow. The black sesame Rice Krispies with labne and plum sauce was a creative and delicious take that left me in awe. But the real star was the hojicha tres leches—an innovative fusion that was absolutely divine.
Thank you for elevating Asian bar food to this level. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu!“

“OMG!! we came here before the Angus and Julia Stone concert (around the corner from the Orpheum Theatre) the last Saturday in June and what a cozy little joint this place is! We sat at the bar
Service was spot on, my wine was delicious (a Chenin Blanc) and the Bolognese Pappardelle was mouthwateringly good! The wine list consist of natural wines. Such a chill vibe in here but we were early in our reservations so keeping that in mind I'd say it might get busier the later the hour. Also be aware they do NOT take cash for payment of your meal. They do, of course for tips just not for the meal.
Not a lot of room in here so don't come with the thought of a romantic dinner for two where you can whisper sweet-nothings to one another without someone else overhearing hahaha.
Parking lot was well lit behind the building, it is shared with the Theater.
Respectfully Reviewed.“

“I never leave reviews but something has come over me. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the neighborhood in a while. It had a very calm and inviting atmosphere, while the staff was right on point the whole time. We ordered two pizzas and both were amazing!! The restaurant was impressive on all fronts; food, atmosphere, great service, and again, it was run extremely well. Truly can’t believe it took me so long to try it, but I will definitely be coming back again.“

“This is a great place to enjoy continental food. I was very surprised at how authentic the Indian food I ordered tasted. I ordered the butter chicken which came with naan, rice and chapatis. Butter chicken. It tasted like professional style and was very nice looking. It even surpassed some of the Indian restaurants I have tried before.“

“I stopped by Bar Bandini for a quick bite and was blown away by the quality of their wine and charcuterie platter. The wine selection was diverse and of excellent quality, and the charcuterie was both delicious and beautifully presented. What makes this place stand out is the exceptional value for the portion sizes and the top-notch ingredients. It's a perfect spot for a relaxed and delightful evening.“

“I love Vinos. It's such a chill atmosphere. The bar tenders are lovely humans. The food is great and the drinks are superb. I always enjoy my visits and look forward to returning again. They have some unique cocktails. One of my favorites is Lovers in Japan, which is a Japanese twist on a whisky sour (I think). The servers are very patient and helpful in explaining their wines to newbies like me. And I've learned a bit.“

“The owner is incredible. She is lovely, and more often than not is there making everything happen. The atmosphere is cozy, beautiful and delightful with limited outdoor options. There is a room in the back for a larger group, but without that its great for parties of 2-3. The soft scrambled eggs are insanely delicious. A great spot for a European feeling.“

“FOOD:
The food was underwhelming for the price. I usually love sisig, but their pork sisig was overcooked (burnt), losing the essence of the dish. The chicken inasal was decent, though not something I’d order again. The pakwan salad felt like a missed opportunity—essentially just watermelon slices with basil vinaigrette. The lechon was alright, but nothing to rave about, and the sinigang shrimp chips tasted like they were just dusted with sinigang mix powder.
On a positive note, the pancit and chicken oil rice were the standout dishes—delicious and flavorful!
Overall, the food didn’t quite justify the price. However, if you’re looking to splurge on “upscale” Filipino dishes, this place could still be worth a try.
SERVICE & AMBIENCE:
I’d return for the service and ambiance rather than the food. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant’s decor was beautiful, with touches that reminded me of the Philippines.“

“Ordered: gluten free pizza with added giardiniera and side of chili paste, Market Salad, and shaved ice with fruit The salad had very fresh greens and it was the first time I’ve ever had fried capers which added a great flavor to the salad, if you like capers I recommend this salad. The pizza was very interesting, I thought the crust was very well done but the toppings didn’t stay on well and it was messier than I’d like and I had to keep re-piling the toppings on after every bite. I had the spicy giardiniera but it also didn’t stay on, the chili paste was great to layer on it and then press the giardiniera onto it to help keep everything in place. The pizza was sweeter than I like a pizza which is where the chili paste and giardiniera helped. Very beautiful pizza, try it for yourself, might be your style, not mine though, I’d eat it again and would keep this as a recommendation when I have a group of vegans and non vegans. The vegan desert they had was shaved ice with fruit, it had coconut and maybe coconut cream at the base of it and there was lemon flavoring in the ice which made it very tart and exciting, the cherries were a nice sweet contrast, I really enjoyed it, I did not get a chance to photograph it because I ate it before I remembered. We sat outside under a pergola with small trees and plants. The staff were friendly and helpful.“

“We love the ambience at gra. And I’m so happy to see more restaurants coming into the many vacant storefronts in this neighborhood. Gra has an incredible vibe. Wonderful service and unbelievably great music. We do wish for two things though. We love traditional full-bodied reds by the glass. They are hard to come by. We also love fresh vegetables, and as much as we love the fermented veggies we’d love to mix it up with more variety. Looking forward to becoming loyal, patrons and exploring this restaurant more.“

“Farmhouse kitchen is the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever had. On top of the food being great and delicious, the presentation makes you want to order everything from the menu. Chef Bo was so nice to come out to our table and all I can say is she was a very nice, young & talented person. She even made me a special dessert for my birthday. Thanks Bo❤️ I highly recommend this place if you want an authentic, excellent and delicious food. In addition, the place is so full of life. The decor is amazing!
