“Usually love this place. $17+ for a hefty poke bowl that's usually made with good vibes. However! Be warned. Ken is not the one you want. Could barely hear him, could hear his sighs though. Went there on 3/22 and he made the saddest bowl ever. Barely any protein, sauce, or toppings. Was so disappointing. Will go again but avoid him, lol. Here is a picture of what their bowls NORMALLY look like.“

“I didn't have the sushi, maybe next time. I went with the chicken curry katsu, spicy. The flavor was very good but I think they forgot to make it spicy. I didn't detect any spice to it. They have a nice selection of craft brews on tap and the service was very friendly. Overall I liked this place and will go again.“

“I have eaten Vietnamese cuisine throughout California, and Grandpa Tao ranks among the best. In addition to the amazing tastes, the casual restaurant is friendly and comfortable. Ingredients are fresh, the environment clean and relaxing. I particularly recommend the Pho, the Rice Vermicelli (try it!) and the Shaking beef. You'll like it.“

“This is my new go-to spot for sushi. There aren’t too many sushi restaurants in El Cajon so you wouldn’t expect much, but their sashimi is so fresh and melts in your mouth. Best of all, it’s very affordable. I also recommend the beef teriyaki bento box. The beef is tender and not too chewy. They also have good lunch specials before 3pm. The staff is very friendly and the place is very clean.“

“Everytime we are welcomed in with a personable hello, welcome back again. The service is unbelievable and the food is even more unbelievable. This is a hidden gem in El Cajon, California, 32 minutes away from Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Edward's Cinema is right next door, eat and then go watch a movie or something or just come and eat.“

“First time to visit and the food was sooo good. I love the scallops the most. We had 14 person party and we were sitted immediately. Food was prepped and cooked in front of us, very entertaining for all. I felt that they wanted to make sure we had the best time. Thanks for making my family experience a good one.“
“The only negative I have to say is the location. However the food was great. I got the short ribs. The meat was tender. My partner got that katsu and it's the crunch that gets me. Delicious. The Mac salad was good too. No weird after taste of fish oil that I've had at other places.“

“We love Loft!! I want to start off by saying Alan is the best!! top notch manager with a great team. It was ridiculously busy from the moment we got there. We got a great seat though, and the weather was nice for us to sit outside. Our server Victor was great! Very attentive and gave great suggestions. Our drinks came out pretty quick and were delicious and the food we ordered which was only sushi was extremely fresh and tasty. Alan had come by and suggested a couple different sakes for us to try which we're on point he also pointed us in the direction of the speakeasy, which we did end up, checking out later and was a fun little spot with some great drinks. All in all we had a great experience in Loft and the casino and will for sure return.“
