“This place is amazing! I hosted a friend’s 30th birthday here and it totally exceeded our expectations. The venue itself has a sexy, classy but really fun vibe. The events director, Jason, was so lovely and accommodating to our needs, the staff were super attentive and professional, the crowd and DJ were great and the drinks were delicious. The customised drink and menu were a cute touch too. Highly recommend Or Bar for an event but also just for an after work or weekend hang.“

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

“I’ve never had a bad time here. Even though it’s a place that’s mostly people going with friends, I’ve never felt unwelcome going by myself. The workers are nice and the drinks are made strong and cold the way they should be. It’s a chill vibe. They don’t do stuff like karaoke, so if you want a party kinda place this wouldn’t be ideal, but if you enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere, then it’s perfect.“

Kitchen was closed but the cook came back on to work to fix them and gave us complimentary guacamole and hummus. Everything was so tasty!! We will definitely come back again for food and drinks. “This place is always packed, even on weeknights. It’s a testament to the beverages and service. Drinks menu rotates so there’s always something new and interesting to try. You can also always get a classic cocktail as well. Beer and wine are also served here. There is a regular food menu with larger portions from opening until about 9 or 10 pm when they switch to their late-night menu which consists of small plates to pick at. Theres plenty of heat lamps outside for when it’s cold you can still sit comfortably during the winter.“

“It’s a chill place with medium sound levels, not loud enough to hurt, but loud enough to fill the space. It’s got a great seating arrangement with tables, booths, bar, patio, and outdoor seating.

On the menu is food (if you come early enough), great craft beers that are fresh with clean tap lines, wine, seltzers, and N/A options. Some of the beers can be a little on the flatter side (just a bit). The service is prompt and polite.

It’s good for groups of all sizes (I would call ahead just in case it’s busy) and solo people as solo patrons do visit also so you won’t feel too weird, although most are in groups“

Although I did not order their impossible sliders on this occasion, I intend to try them during my next visit.

The alcoholic beverages on the menu appeared enticing, but I did have my usual drink, which was a Malibu rum with coke. It was prepared precisely to my liking.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and anticipate returning in the future.

“This place is a haven for ALL of geekdom. As a fan of the show, Fatman Beyond, we HAD to visit the Scum and Villainy Cantina during our SoCal vacation. It was even better than we imagined! It was smaller than expected, but what it lacked in size, it made up for with ambience. It was obvious how much heart went into it's creation. You could see J.C. Reifenberg's passion for sci-fi/fantasy in the decor. In addition, the staff was so incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. “How I love this neighborhood club! People are friendly and fun. I stopped by early on a Saturday night and was dazzled by Xmas decorations they just put up for the season and a great new band playing out for one of it's first gigs. As the band played to an enthusiastic audience, everyone in the room felt like we were sharing something special.

You’ll get your drinks at the bar and then dinner is brought out to you. Then to close your tab you have to go back to the bar which can be a bit of a wait unfortunately. But not too bad.
