The menu only had 2 choices, wagyu or seafood set, $128 person. I enjoy most of the food, out of 11 courses, there 4 dishes with different type of steak, while the meat is good I think I expected more creativity?( Caz honestly I could probably do that at home myself with the quality of the meat).

I feel the restaurant lacks decoration compare to most fancy upscale restaurant, so without the atmosphere, the vibe, the setting. I think the experience would be for food for the most part … and I feel like they could make it more fancy if that make sense“

“Amazing food. Plate licking sauces, organic,locally sourced food. Korean fusion. Did I mention organic pickled everything. Enzyme rich food. Beyond healthy. Humble little hope in the wall run by a husband and wife team. Dude went to Korea to study with the most famous vegan nun chef in Korea. A must go to for anyone who loves food and especially loves fusion with organic and very well priced. He should charge Much more but they don’t.“

The tall tattooed bartender working the bar was amazing. He was super welcoming, friendly, and genuinely made me feel comfortable right away. He took the time to explain the drinks, made great recommendations, and had such an easygoing personality that made the whole place feel way less intimidating.

It’s rare that someone’s service actually changes how you feel about a place, but he definitely did. I came in a little nervous and left feeling like I’d absolutely come back. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and even better hospitality.“

“Ordered the off-menu Pomodoro pasta and it did not disappoint. The tomato and petit basil sauce was bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The wax beans were a standout - snappy and bright with serrano chile, toasted hazelnuts, and a tangy Frenchie vinaigrette. The garden lettuces were crisp and well dressed with radish vinaigrette, fresh dill, walnuts, and shallots. Good vibe, happy staff, great mix of flavors. The orange wine pairing tied it all together. “After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. Their expertise is off the charts, and I highly recommend.“

“Did my popup there on a Saturday and it was super fun!!! The whole Verdugo team were slammed but kept it together and stayed super positive and welcoming. The clientele were very friendly and patient. Everyone was mingling and the DJ was doing pretty good. I need to go back and dance!“

The drinks were great, the place is so chill- it looks like a regular bar/restaurant when you walk in, then there's the beautiful outdoor garden area as well. The service was attentive and very fast. Me and my boyfriend had a great time the reason we went was because of the Halloween decorations and they definitely did not disappoint. “We went in search of the @losdoradosla truck and found it parked in front of La Cuevita. We ventured in at around 6p and discovered that it was still Happy Hour. My husband ordered an Old Fashion and said it was one of the best he’s ever had. I ordered a specialty vodka drink and it was refreshing. We’re definitely going back soon with friends!“

Fun place to go with friends and play some retro cabinet games and other games I'm sure you haven't heard of. The pinball games are awesome. Would like to see more pinball games be added. More games and tables going to the back of the building. Restroom located in the middle(heading towards the back) Clean dining areas. Real Awesome Bartenders! Great beer/liquor/spirits/wine variety. Order at the bar, they'll give you a number and you can just choose a table. Super full when I went but the vibes were great. Awesome music and atmosphere. Good luck with Parking 🤞“

“Johnny's was a great vibe all around service great, good music, cocktails are great very balanced took a date there twice and we both liked the vibe we will definately be back. I dont know why so many 1 star reviews complaning and comparing to the old way Jonhnnys bar under that management tables were filthy weird smell, bar top sticky and drinks were cheap but taste horrible. This new Johnnys is an uopgrade. I personally have even inquired to work as a bartender there because I like how balance the drinks are. I love the fact they add Amaro to an Long Island Iced Tea“

“Solid liq store in an area where there’s nearly no liquor stores at. Pretty solid pricing for small drinks and great pricing for the inverse. Store feels like a breath of fresh air (beautiful lofty and clean) but some of the employees do not. There’s a few nice ones like the Asian guy with the buzz cut and the Samoan looking guy with long black hair. + Someone else I’m forgetting. Everyone else is sort of a toss up. Literally a guy in there who won’t greet you or say ANYTHING whatsoever during the entire transaction besides “thanks” when your purchase is completed, IF that lol. Otherwise solid store but I like Jason’s a million times better in almost every way, I’m just too lazy to go more than 2 blocks down the street half of the time 😂“

“A go-to small bar to watch any major event. I live down the street and this spot has cemented itself as a staple of the community for such events. Staff are friendly, 3 restrooms, plus separate stalls for men, the place is constantly being watched for empty beer bottles/trash. I've enjoyed my visits here ☺

The outdoor area is covered by a huge tree that gives plenty of shade. On top of that, the place isn't noisy unless it's a weekend night.“
