“House of Joy has quickly become one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome — friendly smiles, fast seating, and attentive service throughout the meal. You can tell they truly care about their customers.

Every dish was packed with flavor and came out piping hot. The dim sum was especially impressive — fresh, perfectly cooked, and not greasy at all. The Peking duck and salt-and-pepper shrimp were standouts, but honestly, everything we tried was delicious. Portions are generous and prices are very fair for the quality you get.

What really sets House of Joy apart, though, is the level of service. Our tea cups were never empty, plates were cleared promptly, and the servers checked in just enough without ever being intrusive. It felt like dining at a place that truly values its guests.

Whether you’re coming for family dinner, a casual lunch, or a special occasion, House of Joy is a gem. Highly recommend — can’t wait to come back“

“Hidden gem fire a quick, affordable bite. Mushroom chicken-Big plump pieces of mushroom, snappy zucchini, crunchy, juicy, just-cooked sliced onion, nice raw onion flavor. Curry chicken- not over powering curry flavor, just an itty bitty kick, the potatoes are cooked all the way through and the carrots are soft and sweet which tells me this curry was left to simmer to meld all the flavors. Yes I came in very hungry but for a typical buffet-tray-under-a-lamp place, it is definitely better than average. A two item combo with plenty of chow mein with sliced cabbage was $10.50 before tax. I brought home a medium sized a la carte chicken with mushroom entree, less than $10 with tax. Bring cash if you can, $15 minimum for card purchase. Oh, and the owners were not only super nice but they seemed really grateful for each customer.“

“Ate dine in at this little hole-in-the-wall joint on a recent visit to LA. Close (street) parking was a miracle, but theres also parking (and bathrooms) across the street at the El Super. Portions for a Boil Bag were generous, one corn, potato, rice and a few broccoli were included. All amenities were provided: table paper, bibs, sanitizer, bucket, gloves, scissors for crab legs. Cajun garlic butter seasoning was delicious, not too spicy for the kids. Speaking of kids, seafood boil keep kids remarkably entertained! This place deserves all the good reviews. Our only (small) complaint is the distance to a bathroom, but it's a small price to pay for a delicious meal.“

I am a music photographer who has traveled the world with the world's greatest musical talents (Michael Jackson, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, and Rammstein, to name a few) for almost 40 years. When being asked "Where do you live" I tended to ask "in hotels". At my peak, I "shot" 250 shows a year. Will say: been there, saw and tasted it, and a lot, as I may say, and much to the dismay of my doctor who is in my back to lose a few pounds. Quite a few, as I may add, which is why my wife and I walk ten thousand steps per day, where- and whenever we can - and explore a lot of new exciting places - places you may oversee when just driving by. While I love to share my experience with others, I am sometimes shocked at how people use their "power of the word" to down-rate amazing places because of minor incidents (in my all-time favorite​ restaurant Le Petit Four on Sunset Plaza the owner was even called a racist as he refused to toast the (free) bread in his packed restaurant - they simply do not offer toasted bread, as no French​ place does, as I may add). Or I just read "Chicken piccata so over-salted I hope the dog enjoys the leftovers tomorrow, I brought home most of the dish." Did they speak to their service? How could the restaurant learn that something was wrong when patrons even have their leftovers​ boxed to take home? As a dog owner,​ I want to take the writer and shake him or her really bad and say "You give over-salted food to your dog? Anyone with a bit of brain understands this is a horrible idea...​ I hope you agree.So If I had a say on this portal, I would offer just to see the ratings of my friends. So I would see what the ratings were by like-minded people. Sadly, I have no say. I try not to compare apples with oranges. A place like this does not correspond to "The Ritz". At first,​ I assume that a restaurant is clean, they do not greet you with a gun - and they deliver whatever they promise. I do not give stars for things that are expected. In my rating scheme, three or more stars are awarded if they actually exceed my expectations. Four, if I am sure I will come back. “A well-known Chinese restaurant with a good size menu. They also have a small Dim Sum selection. The restaurant is clean, the service is good and plenty of off-street parking. The food is well prepared and tasty. We had the pork fried rice and the orange chicken.

Parking: Approximately 20 spots of free off-street parking. Pull into the driveway and park behind the restaurant and you can enter the restaurant from the back door or the front door.“

“Fantastic food at an extremely reasonable price. You can easily get full for 20$. We had a huge spread of dumplings, our favorite was the spicy pork dunpling and the pork and leek pancakes. Everything was delicious and seemed hand made. Service is very casual. This is a great spot to share food with people you care about you will get great shareable food and service that is attentive without being interrupting.“

“I love Coral Reef. They have amazing lunch specials! I paid $13.15 for tea, egg drop soup and a massive portion of steamed rice and a massive portion of chicken and broccoli. Service is extremely fast and there are always tables. The restaurant is very old school - the interior and itemized receipts are handwritten. My only complaint is I forgot to ask for an itemized receipt and they couldn’t email or text me a picture of it (for a work reimbursement). Still highly recommend. There’s a free two hour parking lot behind them as well.“

My favorites include orange chicken, szechwan sliced bbq pork, mongolian beef, honey walnut shrimp and the dish I order every single time I go: buddha’s delight. It’s packed with various vegetables in a slightly sweet sauce that delivers the nutrients your body is craving.

They offer take out, but I suggest dining in to get the full experience. The walls are decorated with a mix of artwork and images of their food while a pop station plays in the background. You’ll sometimes find the kids doing homework at one of the tables during the week. They’re sustainability friendly too, so if you’d like them to package something up in your own container, they’re happy to do so. So grateful to have a traditional chinese restaurant that’s run by a family like this in the area.“

“Authentic Filipino. We ordered the Maki without noodles (9.50), Miki Bihon (9.50), Kikiam 2pcs (12.50). Paid around $40 including 3 canned drinks. Order the Kikiam. It was so good and really reminded us of home. The miki bihon was legit as well. I liked the Maki but my dad said it should not have ginger in it. Must try little hole in the wall.“

The noodles were al dente, the bok choy had a nice crunch, broth was flavorful and they did not skimp on the tender, juicy and delicious braised beef.

“Excellent food and kind service. They have a few seats inside and for dine-in and give you a cute tray. As I was eating, the owner kindly offered me samples of their other dishes. So good. She was so sweet, kind to every customer and she brought me ice water even though I didn’t ask. She told me that her family has owned this spot for 28 years and she took over 12 years ago. Respect. I would get the jalapeño chicken next time. Like orange chicken, with a bit of spice. Unbeatable value.“
