All the protein is cooking fresh off the grill or steamer. If I have a problem it's usually resolved on the spot.“

I noticed a lot of takeout and a steady flow of patrons to this spot, but I believe that will change when they find out how good this place is. The lady there was very sweet and we got our food pretty quickly. The place was empty but everything was clean. “Parking: Very easy even on a Saturday/ Sunday brunch day. I would say to come early to check in on their Yelp waitlist in case their place get's especially busy. If you order all these dishes with a group of 4 people, this will fill you up. Banana Latte: Tasted more of the latte than the banana. Gamberry Rose Pasta: Don't play with the spicy level. It's not death spicy but it's a bit like Shin Ramen spicy. Would not recommend this dish for my non tolerant spicy people. Pasta is wonderful though, sauce was like uni cream, there were bits of masago (tiny fish eggs) to add a nice texture, 2-3 regular shrimp and a jumbo shrimp in the dish. Beet Tataki Salad: Would highly recommend for anyone! The beef was cooked so well, medium rare on the inside and the outside sliced edges were really crispy! Salad was refreshingly and dressed well with their vinaigrette, tomato, and shredded cheese. Gambas: Not my favorite dish. The sliced bread was presented in the skillet so bottom portion of the bread was overly greasy. There was too much olive oil at the bottom of the pan than necessary. Toasted whole garlic and olives, I think the only redeemable feature of the dish would be the shrimp.“

But Miss Shabu has the most friendly staff as they wrote on the menu notes on what foods I'm allergic to and which ones are good. They were very efficient with setting up our table of 16 and were flexible when we had less people than expected. The food was really good for a decent price. For dinner and drinks and tea, we spent about $50 and got 2 different soup bases, had many different types of sides, and plates on top of plates of meat. I've only been once and tried the orange peel chicken with fried rice. They forgot my fried rice and gave me white rice but I live near by and they were quick to fix it when I came back. Google should really fix this problem.Back to the Duck Palace. The duck was well seasoned and delicious. The meat was carved out with both skin and meat so it is not just skin only. This is just another style of eating Peking Duck, not more or less “authentic “ as I had both styles in China, in Beijing no less. The combo meal comes with a Duck soup, first time it was real good, the second time I think the cook tipped the whole bottle of pepper in it ?. The carcass of the duck, mainly the neck and leg bones, were deep fried and they are surprisingly tasty, excellent when washed down with a cold beer.“

However, during busy times, it's advisable to order in advance to avoid waiting for the server for too long, as it can be frustrating.They provide various vegetables, seafood, dumplings, tofu, noodles, and more, so I can take as much as I want and make my own sauce. Once I've chosen my soup and added various seafood and vegetables to enhance the flavor, I start my meal. Personally, I enjoy adding seafood to the broth for flavor and dipping it in hot sauce, then adding meat first and enjoying it with vegetables alternately.I recommend finishing about 90% of the meal and then enjoying the remaining 10% with udon, ramen, dumpling soup, or other desired choices. Also, I like tripe as a meat topping (which isn't as popular around here) and I don't always find the right meat combos that I like on other pho restaurant menus and the combo with all meats has some meats that I don't prefer. I like that here they have a two-item meat option and I can pick the two meats I really want. It's not huge but if you need tables for large parties of 8 to 10, they have those as well as smaller tables for parties of 4 or 6. There's plenty of parking outside. I've visited numerous times over the last few years and I'd say everything we've eaten so far from beef chow fun to hainan chicken hovers around 4 stars. Their hainan chicken is bone-in unlike Cluck 2 Go. Their portion size like their pork chop dishes (i.e ging do pai gwut) is a really good value (especially now a days) and their wok hay for their stir fries and chow fun is good. “I've never been to any other skewer restaurant and came to this place twice within a week or so, so this is a review based on that background info. The restaurant is located on the second floor of Pearl Plaza. Your best bet at parking during peak hours is in the parking structure to the right of the plaza. The door to the restaurant is a bit hidden and just looks like a wooden wall but when you get closer to it, it opens automatically like a sliding door. The first time I came was around 7:30 pm on a Thursday night (party of 5) and the second time was around 4:30 pm on a Sunday (party of 3). We didn't have a reservation the first time because it was an impromptu decision to eat there and we were seated right away. I made a reservation for the second time just in case and was also seated right away because the restaurant was empty at the time. Each table comes with roasted peanuts and two types of dipping salts/spices for each person. They have plenty of different types of skewers to choose from so there's something for everyone. They also have appetizers and already cooked dishes you can order. It may seem like the skewers will take a long time to cook but it actually goes by fairly quickly. The servers were really attentive both times I went. I will say that it is a bit pricey compared to something similar like KBBQ since it's not all you can eat. Both times I spent about $40 something but you do leave extremely full. Definitely recommend a try!“
