Service was slow with the beer as demand was high and the servers and bar staff were frantically filling orders for ? folks who were chugging away the green beer and other mixed drinks as fast as they were presented to the patrons. Patience was key and the bar and wait staff are ? Champs for working so hard on a Sunday St PADDY'S day. Beer and alcohol service for that day was also available outside on the patio. Enjoyed a cold one streetside with other friendly folks waiting to get a table. Once we were seated the wait staff was fast and polite. Drink order came around fast and surprisingly the food was just as fast too. I highly recommend this place for the fish and chips. Great batter, comes out crisp and light, good tarter sauce and their coleslaw is just the way I like it. Better yet they have one of my favorite Irish Cream Ales on hand Killkenny. Great Red Ale which is always on tap here throughout the year...Definitely coming back. My wife had ordered the same food dish and big thumbs up from her too...she doesn't drink alcohol so she ordered a Shirley Temple to which they served in a large beer ? mug which made her happy too. Would absolutely recommend this place as there is a great bar and restaurant atmosphere and setting in this quaint downtown setting of La Verne. A shout out to manager Anthony who was serving beer on the pation and showing great hospitality to everyone outside.Parking: Small downtown area next to college so parking is a little competitive depending on time of year and time of day and which day of the week. There is a lot to the east that has free parking.“
“Choose both. You can make your Mongolian style plate and while that's cooking grab another plate and add some additional items from the Chinese food self serve buffet. You walk in and decide if you'll be having Mongolian or Chinese. Them put on a glove on the hand that you'll be using to serve your food. Then serve yourself whatever your heart desires and as much. If you went with the Mongolian once you are done serving your bowl you take it to the grill and watch the magic happen. I'm extra so I like to grab a wing or two, fried shrimp and or an egg roll. They are mostly breading, but they do the job. Once done Walt to the cashier and pay. We love this place because you get to serve yourself and it's super casual. Perfect for a weekday night when you aren't in a mood to cook.“
“My son and I are huge fans of great Hawaiian Barbecue and when he moved onto campus at the University of La Verne he called me to share that he had found an amazing place. He is now in his junior year and we have been regulars at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue at least two or three times a month for three years now! The food is all awesome, chicken katsu always cooked perfectly and spam misubi is simply the best around! “I’ve been to this place a few times but never wrote the review for it. First of all, in this area, this is the best bbq spot. With that being said, the customer service upon entering the restaurant was sketchy at first but it got better as I stayed to order my food. I had to drive here to order because the phone never got answered nor did the online service work. I got the chicken sandwich, 1/2 chicken, fries, mac & cheese, and Cole slaw. The sandwich was good, the chicken was okay and the sides were decent. You can dine in if you want but at the time I went, they were really busy so the wait from what I seen was about 15 to 20 minutes. I don’t think they take reservations. I would say to go and visit the place for yourself. It is worth the drive if you’re in the area. I would not say drive from LA to come here when there are other spots along the way.“

“A hidden gem in Diamond Bar!!! And they actually open until 10pm. For Diamond Bar standards that's pretty late. We love Tofu Bean - Diamond Bar. This Tofu Bean is owned by the same great owner of the Tofu Bean of Rowland Heights. Their Banchan (side dishes) are the best. The potato side dish and kimchi are my favorites. When you order a combination, the tofu soup is the same size as the regular tofu soup orders. Check them out - I highly recommend.“

“Based on the many great reviews I read for Frank's Catering, I booked them for my husband's milestone birthday party, which we recently held on Veteran's Day. Being a planner, I made the reservation early. Leo and Frank were very accommodating for my guests' nutritional needs, and for any changes I requested along the way. I decided to go all out for the occasion and ordered the food cooked onsite, full service, and the beverage bar with freshly made sangria, which was a big hit! All of the food was phenomenal, which included brisket, ribs, chicken, scalloped potatoes, baked beans and grilled veggies. The freshly made chips and salsas were also a huge hit. Every guest complimented on how great the meal was and many said "this is the best BBQ I've ever eaten"! Having many farmers in our family who know their BBQ, this speaks volumes! Their setup was great, including table and chair rentals. Everything looked nice. I can't thank Frank, Leo and their staff enough for being so pleasant to work with, and for being so accommodating for our needs. “Yesterday was Good Friday. My family and I had originally planned to go have dinner at Grab Crab, but the wait was outrageously long. I believe that when I checked in, we had 18 people ahead of us. So, instead, we decided to go Sosom Ramen Bar & Bossam. Luckily, when we got here, it was nice and empty. We got seated right away, and the order was taken really quickly. This was our second time coming to this place. The first time we came, I dont remember much, but we decided to come back anyway. This round was much rememberable. The waiter was on top of everything, making sure we had refills on our water and gave us extra sides. He checked up on us multiple times to see if we needed anything else. Honestly, the food was just perfect. Like 10 min into our dinner, the restaurant started to fill up. The vibe with the customer everyone enjoyed their food. If you want to try Bossam, this is going to place. I don't think they will let you down. Meat is super tender, and the sauce is yummy. Just writing this makes my mouth water.“

The service was good in the morning. One of the server saw that our pork belly had too much fat and she was kind enough to remove it and offer another set. “I've never been to any other skewer restaurant and came to this place twice within a week or so, so this is a review based on that background info. The restaurant is located on the second floor of Pearl Plaza. Your best bet at parking during peak hours is in the parking structure to the right of the plaza. The door to the restaurant is a bit hidden and just looks like a wooden wall but when you get closer to it, it opens automatically like a sliding door. The first time I came was around 7:30 pm on a Thursday night (party of 5) and the second time was around 4:30 pm on a Sunday (party of 3). We didn't have a reservation the first time because it was an impromptu decision to eat there and we were seated right away. I made a reservation for the second time just in case and was also seated right away because the restaurant was empty at the time. Each table comes with roasted peanuts and two types of dipping salts/spices for each person. They have plenty of different types of skewers to choose from so there's something for everyone. They also have appetizers and already cooked dishes you can order. It may seem like the skewers will take a long time to cook but it actually goes by fairly quickly. The servers were really attentive both times I went. I will say that it is a bit pricey compared to something similar like KBBQ since it's not all you can eat. Both times I spent about $40 something but you do leave extremely full. Definitely recommend a try!“
“I was surprised and felt "special" that we were being served by "several" servers. Service was seamlessly quick and pleasant, and the suction vent was so quiet, I kept looking up to see it was working properly. But, it was so efficient, you don't see the smoke blinding you while grilling beef. And, they exchanged the grill pan so frequently, there is no time to worry about "carbon monoxide = cancer." Over all, I would have given 5 ?, but, the guiding employee was wearing heavy perfume, and she was passing by our table a lot, I had to cringe!!! Her perfume just ruined my perfect lunch session...“
“This is a fantastic place for Korean seafood bbq. There is another place like this in Monterey Park called Clam House and the food and style are exactly the same. But this place has so much more space and they use their AC to keep it cool for patrons. So much better here. Service is hit and miss. Sometimes it's fast but last time we came, food came out very slow. Steamed egg and cheese corn and Korean pancake sides were all delicious. Good amount of food with all the grilled seafood, noodles, and sides.“

“I used to come here all the time to get my tofu soup fix--the mushroom tofu soup, danger spice level. Their food was exceptional and my comfort food! The staff was always so warm and welcoming, which was the main reason why I always came back. Does anyone know if they have possibly relocated? I went the other day and found that they were closed and reopening as a Tofu Bean. I think this place closed down and I'm truly sad if they did! :(“

For a brief period I didn't come here because they had changed up their menu and didn't offer Satay Chicken lunch specials anymore. But looks like they recently changed owners and I'm happy to say that the Satay Chicken Lunch and Dinner specials are back. Everything on the plate was good except the grits they were hard and I can tell they were not creamy when they were put into the box. The grits were a 2 out of 10. I also got the smothered pork chops on top of rice with gravy which was extremely good. I also had two sides.... Greens and black eyed peas. Very good as well. The staff were super friendly and moved tables for us. She was so nice and brought filtered water for my kids. There are roughly 8 small tables in the tightly packed restaurant. They menu is pretty big and was super excited that they had pan fried sticky rice which is my daughter's favorite. They also had another hard to find item near us, crispy noodles with gravy. There are very few places near us that do this well. We were super happy with everything we got. Highly recommend the pork chops with honey garlic sauce, braised green beans, and eggplant with pork.“
