“I’m touring a condo in Oakland for a client making an offer and I stop for a quick bite at a tiny sandwich place next to the Grand Lake Theater. OMG, Unbelievable sandwiches, smoked meats, homemade pickles, peppers🫑 and memorable pulled pork, etc. I hang out for a few minutes while Jerry makes my Cuban sandwich, and he has me try their smoked bacon, homemade meatballs, and more. “This place is my favorite Sourdough & Co this side of the Bay! Sara and Radia was so polite and kind. I had the meal combo meal and had asked if the clam chowder came with a side of bread. It did not but Sara gave us the side bread along with chocolate chip cookie.“

I was in Martinez dropping off the Spindler's Rotomiser for my 48 Pearson Applehorn to the boys over at the Monkey Ass Garage because they claimed they could realign the wobbler shaft without tearing it up. Well, I had some time to kill so I went straight to Lucia's Craft Sandwiches and had some pretty spectacular sandwiches.

“Since high school, I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, and the food has stayed consistently good. The sandwiches are the real standout, but my go to orders are the Hood and the Turkey Bacon Avocado. Whenever I’m in the area and hungry, this is one of the first spots that comes to mind. Solid sandwiches, generous portions, and that neighborhood spot feeling you can’t fake. Definitely a go to in Oakland. Highly recommend!“

Hope I can see the young folks smiling more at this location. I know inflation is here for everyone of us. I paid 23.80 for a cheesestake max length with tax and 10% tip. I think I need to be making double than my 7+ yr old compensation plan.

Tried the Concord location this time since it was closer, and the experience was just as good.

Megan helped me with my order and was wonderful. This time I went with the full-size Farm Club with extra aioli, extra pickled onions, and asked for the bacon to be warmed up. That little adjustment made an already good sandwich even better. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted.

I also tried the Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada, made with avocado, roasted corn, black beans, jicama, grape tomatoes, red onions, quinoa & millet, superfood crunchies, kale, romaine, cilantro, cotija, and chipotle vinaigrette. The half avocado on top made for a beautiful presentation, and the salad itself was fresh, filling, and packed with texture and flavor.

Another thing I appreciated about this location was that the self-serve drink station was completely stocked, so I actually got to check out all of the house-made beverage options.

Service was excellent from beginning to end, and now I’m back to the same problem I had after my first visit: figuring out what to order next because the menu has too many things I want to try.

“Great deli / cafe attached to a catering business. Sandwiches are outstanding. Meat piled high and very fresh vegetables. Roll was soft and light, also.

The deli operation closes at 2:00 pm daily and is closed on weekends. But in-between that, you can get a great sandwich here .

They have housemade salads of all types, incl pasta etc. I didn't try them but will - they all looked great

And, it is one of the few places to sit down and eat around here that doesn't try to shake a tip out of you at the cash register before even trying the food.
