Kristen recommended quite a few dishes, including the **Albariño** and **Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc**, which paired perfectly with our meal. The ambiance is stylish and welcoming, and the coastal decor enhances the dining experience without being over the top. While the **90 minute dining time** encourages a brisk pace, the quality of the food and service still made for a great evening. “Oysters looked good but I opted for the crab melt. I thought the crab was decent. The bread was nice and toasted which was a plus. Otherwise I thought overall the place was ok. Small seating area which is understandable considering where they are located. Could be a fun spot with the right people.“

“Love the salmon and my new fav is the dynamite shrimp bowl!! Rice cooked perfectly, shrimp are perfectly cooked and just the right spicyness and bright flavors to perk it up! Delicious! My dad in law LOVES the fish and chips! Says one of the best ever and he’s in his 80’s and from the south so must be good ! Lol 😊 only bad thing to say is the parking in the center it’s in is awful! Staff is sweet and helpful! Thanks great experience !!“

“I bought the oyster combo with DoorDash and I absolutely loved the deep fried oysters. The fried breading was very tasty and the oysters tasted like they were cooked just right.

I chose potato salad for the side, I liked it, however, I do not know if they make it fresh.

The combo also comes with a Shasta brand soda, but cola and lemon lime are the only offered flavors.

I definitely want to order from here again.“

“Montecatini Restaurant is always a welcome evening for our family. We can always count on perfectly prepared meals every time whether it's a traditional pasta dish, seafood or house specialty item. Their service is friendly and efficient and our experiences there are consistently top-notch. We love to start with either the prawns wrapped in pancetta with pesto aioli appetizer or the bay shrimp on butter lettuce salad. The prawns are full of flavor and great to share, and the bay shrimp salad is a great portion, small meal-size with delicate balance of flavors. The carpaccio is also a favorite of our family, we order it with the arugula, red onion and dijon dressing. You cannot go wrong when ordering your favorite Italian entrees; we've literally never had even an average experience here! Pastas are perfectly cooked, well sauces and the portions are abundant. The Classics are authentic, delicious and the seafood entrees are always perfectly executed! They offer a full bar and a wonderful wine list! This restaurant gets my highest recommendation!“

“We stopped in got some Fish & Chips (cat fish) and Onion rings and soda.As a very picky Aussie who loves good Fish & Chips most stores here in the US I’d score at a 6/10 but this little hole in the wall shop it’s easy an 8/10 the chips where good size the fish was average size for all the US stores I’ve tried but this little store the batter was crispy and the fish cooked perfectly the onion rings where good the Chips where very good but I feel a few extra minutes in the oil would have made them a perfect Crispy outer and hot and fluffy“

“First of all the people that were in there getting food talked to me about how great it is before I could even order. I was excited. I ordered a Super Burrito with ground beef and everything. I also ordered a taco. When I saw how many ingredients were piled up on that taco and saw how the only way he could close that taco was to envelope it in aluminum foil I was amazed. But then when I picked up my bag containing one burrito and one taco I swear it was a couple of pounds! The burrito was huge! And delicious! And the person taking my order and the person making the orders were very pleasant. I will definitely be back many times.“

Parking: There is usually street parking around, especially on the side of their building, or across Foothill.

“Great seafood boil restaurant! The place was decorative, and fairly clean for a seafood boil restaurant. The service was great, and the servers and staff were all really friendly. They had great prices, and their crawfish was HUGE! For the interior, it was really cool to see all the different people who ate there, and their decor was great. However, I feel like the lighting could have been a bit better, and have more brighter lights. Although the lights were a bit dim, the food makes up for everything!“

I came upon this little restaurant when searching for restaurants in the area. We were both pleasantly surprised. The food was clean and fresh and just enough. It was the sweetest little spot, very chill, perfect from me and Mama. It appeared to be a family owned local spot. “I've been a few times so far. The first time I went the food was spectacular, this was for dinner. When I went for brunch it was a little lack luster for the breakfast carnitas. However, I think how it was prepared just wasn't suited for how I thought the breakfast carnitas would be served. I'll definitely be back to try other main courses.“

First and foremost it is a great local bar the atmosphere and the vibes are great. You always feel comfortable and welcome by anyone ever there. I do have to acknowledge, however that the service sometimes can be slow and sometimes it takes me a good 5 to 10 minutes to be acknowledged while at the bar for a drink. I think this would be my only complaint. for some reason service sometimes for a drink can be a little slow. I must admit the bartenders here are some of the best. “My favorite Sushi spot in Walnut Creek!!! It’s amazing here. I get the premium omakase and hand rolls every time. (Usually spicy tuna or salmon). The fish is super fresh and my favorite nigiri is the otoro of course.

They have some rolls there that are pretty good as well. The pacific roll is one of the ones we always get. But you can’t go wrong with all the others. Just pick the one with fish you like and it will taste so good.

Also the staff is so friendly and attentive. It’s worth it every time we go :)“

“I hadn’t heard of Tugboat until just this week reading an online story about the restaurant. It’s downright difficult to find a Fish & Chips eatery in the area. Living 25 minutes from their Pleasant Hill location is an issue but I decided to give it a go. I’ll definitely be back. The menu is extensive including the likes of prawns, catfish, oysters, calamari, even lumpia. I came for the fish and stayed for the tempura style prawns combo special. At $15.99 you’ll get a generous piece of fish, four prawns and a basket of fries. I read in an earlier review the fish wasn’t cod, and I really don’t know if it was but it was tasty with a golden brown deep fried crust. The tempura prawns were meaty and prepared perfectly. While you order at the counter, the food was delivered to my table along with tartar and cocktail sauce, and ketchup. The necessary malt vinegar was already at the table. The fork was plastic but I didn’t use one. It’s a casual place and I dined alone—finger food fish n fries if you will. The restaurant is bright, airy and sunny with a very definite nautical theme from the wallpaper to paintings and accessories/ornaments. There was no trash disposal in sight to enable an easy self bussing of the table, the soda machine was out of order (what no free refills😳) but their cold box of soda, teas etc. was ice cold so all good. The location is in a small retail center (Ellingwood) two doors down from an Outback Steakhouse so there’s plenty of parking. I’ve read where some think it’s pricey, but fish is expensive so I was satisfied with my bill. As mentioned previously, I’ll definitely be back, and if you like fish and chips, I’d highly recommend giving it a try.“
