“As a New Yorker, my standards for breakfast & brunch are high. I’m so glad I came here! There’s a freshness about the atmosphere and the food selection is unique and tasty.
I got the curry with bokchoi and we had fried for the table.
They had matcha, which went perfectly with the creamy-with-a-kick meal. 🥰I wish I had 2 stomachs so I didn’t have to leave a bite uneaten, but I could only get through have of this lovely meal.
Absolutely will be revisiting when I’m back in the West Coast.🫶🏾“

“One of my favorite restaurants ever. The meat was seasoned so expertly and was so tender. Mussel toast was INCREDIBLE. Their sourdough was out of this world. Staff was knowledgeable and guided us in trying many interesting wines. This place was amazing!“

“Was visiting from Arizona was blown away by this place. I lived in the south for 30 years and this cooking reminded me of being back there. “In A Nutshell:
-Yagul is a Oaxacan oasis.
-I found out about this place while exploring the neighborhood & noticed a lot of people popping in/out.
-Not only that the beautiful smell of Mexican food wafted into my nostrils, so I mentally bookmarked this spot.
-Not too long later, I came in for a nice breakfast.
-The Huevos Rancheros really hit the spot.
-The portion was not too big & everything tasted fresh, especially the beans & rice.
Overall, the service is very friendly & I liked the prices too.“

“Nice vibes, convenient location with easy parking, beautiful decor. Service was lacking, but understand there is a labor shortage right now, perhaps that's to blame here. Bodega sando was perfection! Pastries were alright...most looked better than they tasted. I'd say they were good but not great.“

“Excellent Mexican ( Oaxacan) food in Mar Vista. The food was delicious and nicely presented & service was friendly and attentive. We sat outside at a picnic table, which is fun in warm weather. There are several Oaxacan businesses in the area. Diversity like this is what makes LA great.“

“Spontaneous stop at this inspirational and uplifting venue 👏🏽Must try the 🪻 latte and beignets with berry dip 😋 My daughter tried the breakfast sandwich and it was good. I am a tater tots lover and on a mission in trying as many as I can! Delicious with spicy mayo sauce 👌🏽Go visit and enjoy the variety of options in the menu.

“It was mine and my husband’s first time going to The Neighborhood Cafe. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant to be in. Robert was amazing with us constantly seeing if we need anything (which we appreciated). They have amazing food and we felt right at home. I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their menu ?“

“Faboulous baked goods, great chef in the kitchen, some unusual delightful special breakfasts + lunches, excruciatingly noisy due to bad acoustics when busy.
2025: as good as ever, good coffee + espresso, great baked goods, good breads, outside seating, the take out salads are overpriced and not that interesting, always helpful staff. too bad they close for food at 3:oo. owner Hans has a couple of local high price restaurants: Janes in the MDR. good though.“

From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by a decor that combines elegance and comfort, which contributes to creating an atmosphere conducive to conversation and reflection. The attentiveness of the staff is worth mentioning; they speak English and Spanish and their kindness and willingness to help make the experience even more pleasant. In addition, the variety of drinks and products offered responds to different tastes, which satisfies all visitors.

“I had to plan a last minute breakfast for a coworker and since I love the breakfast burritos from TMJ Cafe i thought everyone else would too! They had everything ready when I got there and are always so happy and appreceative. Love this place! Oder the Supreme Doughnuts Box they're gorgeous and totally worth it!
Vegetarian options: They have a veggie burrito that is amazing! Just remember to order it without cheese.
Parking: Its a small parking lot, but people come and go very quickly.“

“Great place but horrible customer service !!! I wanted to order online and it was an issue with the website (availability and discount problems). At first they were really nice and reactive but then they just disappeared and ignored my messages ! I asked them 3 times to answer me but nothing….. I have never seen that in the US ! Really disappointing. And their answer on Google made it just worse. Although the shop is amazing, I won’t go anymore.“

“Visited this place with Wifey, things were good but not great. I think our server had a bad day or something. There were two males assisting our server who offered great service with smiles. Our female server did not warm up until it was time to pay our bill. We still tipped her because we know folks need to work 2x harder in the current economy. The food was good and the portions were great. I will come back and give them another try. Lastly, the bright spot here is their patio which is very relaxing. As you dine, great views of PCH street action - despite this round of ok service, I'll be back!“

“First visit and was not dissatisfied. Heard about the place through friends and the Yelp reviews backed up the claims. Nice gem of a place… I had the Protein Scramble and my wife had the Waffles! All the food was amazing and made to order🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 A comfortable lounge environment, tasty food, and great staff making sure we have everything we need. “I hesitate to write about this place because I want to keep it the gem that it is (it's that good). It's definitely the best coffee in the area, from a latte to the cold brew cream, it's consistent and strong and super high quality. I also love the staff, they're super nice and friendly! The pastries they bring in are delish too (the cherry muffin in this WHOA). The only thing I wouldn't get again is the breakfast burrito from the case, but that's just a personal preference. I love this place dearly and am there many times a week. So glad it exists!“

“What a FANTASTIC place! I heard about Yellow Vase online and decided that it would be a perfect spot to stop and try out. We found a table outside with a great view of the ocean. We placed our order at the counter and the line moved very quickly so dont be intimidated if it looks busy because they are FAST! They clearly have a fantastic system in place because no sooner did we sit down after placing our orders and take a sip of our tea and espresso and our food was out!
The goat cheese on the Roasted Veggie Scramble was delicious,my only complaint being that there wasnt more of it! It was a great balance with the salad and few slices of bread. The decor was adorable, and of course we had to get some pastries to go!
What an absolute gem of a place, it seems the different locations may have a few different options for food as well to keep it unique, and I very much look forward to getting to try out the other locations as well. We will absolutely be back to this location and to hop around and try the others! With such a diverse menu I cant wait to try some of the other dishes they offer!“
