“This place is awesome. Really good food, drinks & merch. The only complaint I have is I wish people with their laptops who sit at a 4 top table alone understood how selfish that is when this place is incredibly busy. I always thought cafes should have a time limit for people with laptops or a bar set up on the wall just for people with laptops. You literally are fighting for your life for a table there on the weekends. Will still go though lol“

“It’s not really great for gluten free but that’s normal for coffee shops. I like the steamers: hot milk of your choice with a syrup of your choice. It was perfect to warm up with after a long day. The music plays softly in the background and you can have a conversation easily. They also use Joshua Tree Coffee which is a great coffee. Service was helpful and polite.“

“My roommate decided to try the coffee after hearing about it through a friend in CA (we are in RI). My roommate says it is by far one of the best coffees he has ever tasted. Very aromatic! Smooth and just, well, a must try! It was also ground well, packaging was great, delivery was on time. Website was easy to use. We'll be back for another shipment!“

“Absolutely amazing spot. I found it while traveling for a car event and Literally everything we got was amazing. We tried a bit of everything and there was a smoothie I tried, I can't remember the name, but it was espresso, PB, honey and banana and the whole family loved it.

The staff was very friendly and they were super nice to my kids. They even tried to help us find something we needed.

The ambiance was nice and the restaurant was very pretty and the music was nice.

Beautiful beach front location, excellent customer service (our server Riley was super friendly, efficient, and had great menu recommendations!), and absolutely delicious food. My personal favorite is the mocha..which I have to say is excellent most of the time. Most of the time, because I don't feel like different baristas are trained to make it one specific way. Which is what I want in coffee.. consistency.
Luckily, most of the time it's really good.
I love their patio..its among the prettiest I've ever been to..people don't seem to use it more for some reason.“

“Very cool little spot, there are different restaurants in the same building however I only went to the coffee place. One of the staff members let me know they were remaking my burrito because they forgot to put avocado on it which was really kind of them, and also offered me a beverage on the house while I waited which was really kind and appreciated. I ate the burrito while omw to workout and it was delicious! My price was high because I got all the protein and avocado. Otherwise it would have been $18+tax and tip“

“The San Pedro location, unfortunately, wasn’t accepting online orders, so I made the trek to the Long Beach location. Thankfully, this location was accepting online orders, sparing me a 6 a.m. pastry pilgrimage. I scheduled a 12:45 p.m. pickup but didn’t arrive until 1:45 p.m., so I won’t fault the pastries if they weren’t piping hot.

Colossus Bakery on 2nd Street sits near some of my favorite Long Beach spots, like Holey Grail Donuts and Win-Dow. I ordered three items: a cardamom bun, kouign amann, and pecan sticky bun, eaten in that order, which also reflects my ranking.

The cardamom bun was delicious: the spice came through without overpowering the pastry. It was denser and doughier than the light, airy pastries I usually favor, but still excellent. The kouign amann was similarly dense, though each bite had a satisfying audible crispness. The pecan sticky bun lived up to its sticky reputation with plenty of nuts, though it ended up my least favorite of the three (but still very good).

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my pastries. I imagine they’d be even better fresh or warmed, and I can’t wait to work through the rest of the menu. Colossus Bakery has officially joined my elite Los Angeles/Long Beach pastry rotation. Highly recommended!“
