Right away this place caught our attention it was clean, inviting and I loved their neon lights and decor. Especially their Akira poster! Green tea is steep yourself in suoer hot water for the right depth of tea, and truly great flavor. Sushi (spicy tuna) was delish. As soon as you walk in, you are met with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere befitting such a nice restaurant. The menu is full of variety, with classic staples like gyoza and tuna rolls while also featuring special dishes, with my personal favorite being the spider rolls, which are absolutely delicious. Service is quite fast and the owner is extremely welcoming to customers. It is clear that the owner really puts their heart into the food and makes it impossible not to enjoy the meals prepared for you.

“We were visiting from Seattle and wandered into Osaka Story completely by accident… which is now the best accident we’ve ever had.

The staff were so kind and friendly that we instantly felt like regulars, even though we’d just walked in off the street. The food was so good we came back the very next day like, “Hey, it’s us again, don’t mind us.” And the beef yaki udon? Chef’s kiss. Truly “I could write poetry about this noodle” levels of good.

“This is my favorite sushi place in Long Beach. That being said, it's also the only sushi place that I've been to in Long Beach. I've been three times now though, because I like it so much that I make it a point to come here every time I'm in town.

They're known for the AYCE sushi, but I come back for the quality not just the quantity. It is all very fresh, very well made, and beautifully presented. I'm afraid I might never try another sushi place in this area since I have no reason to look elsewhere.“

“Solid 4's all around. We came in at 4pm right when they closed for lunch and they were super generous to still let us eat.
From the outside it's deceiving and looks like a square building and black our windows but inside is really nice. You can sit at the bar style right in front of the sushi chef (we did) or in the dining room.
We had the spicy salmon and spicy tuna and the special roll with Salmon sashimi.
All with great quality and presentation.
Me personally thought it was a touch to spicy and the salmon sashimi was a tougher piece but everything else was great.
The only reason for the 4 stars are for that and the $85 bill afterwards.
