“I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting the food to be this exceptional. And that is because sometimes chain establishments are not great. However, Camille suggested a couple of dishes for us and they did not disappoint and in fact I would’ve licked the plates if it was publicly appropriate. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy and short rib hash!!!!! Omg so delicious!! I can’t wait to come back for more!!!“

“The San Pedro location, unfortunately, wasn’t accepting online orders, so I made the trek to the Long Beach location. Thankfully, this location was accepting online orders, sparing me a 6 a.m. pastry pilgrimage. I scheduled a 12:45 p.m. pickup but didn’t arrive until 1:45 p.m., so I won’t fault the pastries if they weren’t piping hot.
Colossus Bakery on 2nd Street sits near some of my favorite Long Beach spots, like Holey Grail Donuts and Win-Dow. I ordered three items: a cardamom bun, kouign amann, and pecan sticky bun, eaten in that order, which also reflects my ranking.
The cardamom bun was delicious: the spice came through without overpowering the pastry. It was denser and doughier than the light, airy pastries I usually favor, but still excellent. The kouign amann was similarly dense, though each bite had a satisfying audible crispness. The pecan sticky bun lived up to its sticky reputation with plenty of nuts, though it ended up my least favorite of the three (but still very good).
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my pastries. I imagine they’d be even better fresh or warmed, and I can’t wait to work through the rest of the menu. Colossus Bakery has officially joined my elite Los Angeles/Long Beach pastry rotation. Highly recommended!“

“Dined here this evening. We enjoyed some Cocktails to start then ordered Beef Tartare, Shrimp with Veg and Roasted Carrots. Entrees varied from Pasta to Ribeye steak and Burger. All delicious. The Carbonara needed more bacon but that was the only issue. Desserts were great. The Espresso wasn’t hot enough for my guest but overall we enjoyed the evening celebrating a birthday. Will recommend to my friends for sure. Would recommend a reservation as it was very busy by the time we left at 6.30 pm“

“My wife and I frequent many Japanese restaurants and this has become our favorite local spot. The menu is full of authentic and delicious options as well as the common comfort treats. The staff is attentive and kind and I can sense a real care to their House Special Recipes. Today we had the Chirashi and Tekka Don and they were both perfect. We also had the Truffle Hamachi Roll but devoured it before we could take pictures“

“This place is SOOOO good! Everything is so full of flavor, and you can tell it's made with love. The carnitas tacos are phenomenal. Savory, citrusy, with just the right kick, they are so delicious. But honestly, everything is so good.. The nachos are fried fresh with fresh tortillas made in the morning, the guacamole is hand-made and thick with just the right seasoning, and all of the proteins are perfectly marinated and made with care. And the staff and owners are the coolest people. Friendly, down-to-earth, and they all put their heart and soul into this place. We'll definitely be back!“

OMG I just had your food for the first time today 4/25/23 3:59pm and oh my this California Burrito & Holy Guacamole Burger & fries is entirely too good and I will be visiting again. Please, Please, Please, Never Leave Vegas, and please build another location in N. Las Vegas (preferably the Centennial area like across the street from my house 🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰) JK. “Last night we went to Speak Cheezy on 4th St at Termino. First off, EXCELLENT customer service! We had the Shroomday Button (Oyster and Maitake Mushrooms/ White Wine Braised Leeks / Truffle Cheese / house stretched mozzarella / shredded mozz / parsley / post oven of lemon zest. *We love to add Hobbs Sausage*). I added that delicious sausage and loved that pizza! We also had the Bloomsdale (garlicky bloomsdale spinach / hand stretched mozzarella / shredded mozzarella /pecorino / smoked ricotta / gaeta olive / za’atar / feta salsa verde)... and YUM! And we decided to try the Garden of Farms Little Gem Caesar Salad (little gems / kewpie caesar dressing / pizza croutons / anchovies / Ribbons of Fiscalini Gold / soft cooked egg). Again, tasty, tasty, tasty. Speak Cheezy sure seems to use high-end products in the creation of their pizzas and salads. Everything was top notch. That salad was so yummy with that incredible salad dressing and the jammy soft cooked egg. I want another one to eat with my lovely pizza leftovers. :)“
