“It’s a very cute and small little vegan restaurant. The taco plate is small but filling. The beans were also amazing, I highly recommend. I like that there are so many protein options as well for the tacos. I chose the mushrooms since the asada and carnitas have either a soy based protein or soy sauce. I also tried the horchata and churros with ice-cream and both were DELICIOUS. Overall the vibe is sort of a blend of modern Mexican minimalism with a dash of new age and oldies music. A little loud for my comfort level—I have sensory issues especially with noise—which might have been due to the high ceiling but I honestly think if you’re not autistic you’ll be fine. The staff were all welcoming, nice and treated the restaurant like a community space. They all made an effort to get to know the customers and they seemed like very lovely people. I arrived about 30 min before closing and they kept the kitchen open for me to have desert even after hours.

Only downside is the parking situation. Very tiny driveway, with minimal spaces and some people were blocking the spaces when I got there (probably Uber Eats and door dash drivers). So you’ll probably have to park on the street. Other than that, the food was delicious and I really think I found a gem.“

“Juat visited this place and ordered 4 rolls for two of us thinking they would be normal size. But instead, each one was a meal for an average person. They were also delicious! Very impressed and will definitely return. Street parking only, and not the cleanest neighborhood but well worth it.“

“From the first moment I visited this establishment I have been impressed. The atmosphere is cozy, accessible and has a very welcoming host of hospitality professionals. The entire experience has an “at home” feel. Eight steps in I was welcomed by a display of crafted pastries fit for a fairy tale. I was skeptical but intrigued by it all. “Went for dinner. Nice open feeling place with about 10 tables. Staff was very nice. You order using a tablet which has pictures and descriptions and was super easy to customize your order. We shared the animal less fries, excellent. Fries stayed crispy despite the cheese and sauce. I had the buffalo chicken wrap, it was good. My wife had the southern fried chicken sandwich which was better. My son had the BBQ beyond burger, also very tasty. I would definitely eat here again. There was also a daily special menu where everything was less than $10!“

“Last night we went to Speak Cheezy on 4th St at Termino. First off, EXCELLENT customer service! We had the Shroomday Button (Oyster and Maitake Mushrooms/ White Wine Braised Leeks / Truffle Cheese / house stretched mozzarella / shredded mozz / parsley / post oven of lemon zest. *We love to add Hobbs Sausage*). I added that delicious sausage and loved that pizza! We also had the Bloomsdale (garlicky bloomsdale spinach / hand stretched mozzarella / shredded mozzarella /pecorino / smoked ricotta / gaeta olive / za’atar / feta salsa verde)... and YUM! And we decided to try the Garden of Farms Little Gem Caesar Salad (little gems / kewpie caesar dressing / pizza croutons / anchovies / Ribbons of Fiscalini Gold / soft cooked egg). Again, tasty, tasty, tasty. Speak Cheezy sure seems to use high-end products in the creation of their pizzas and salads. Everything was top notch. That salad was so yummy with that incredible salad dressing and the jammy soft cooked egg. I want another one to eat with my lovely pizza leftovers. :)“

“Amazing food love Korean fusion especially the bulgogi burrito 🌯🌯🌯the burrito is so packed it will likely fall apart as the tortilla cannot contain all the incredible food and delectable ingredients. I got the bulgogi and it was perfect. Juicy, just the perfect amount of sweetness. A generous proportion and well balanced with the egg, veggies etc.. a perfect medley and entirely satisfying.“

I got the winger which is like their classic burger and the waste em all. The winger was a decent burger and I would say the bun steals the show as it is perfectly toasted. “The San Pedro location, unfortunately, wasn’t accepting online orders, so I made the trek to the Long Beach location. Thankfully, this location was accepting online orders, sparing me a 6 a.m. pastry pilgrimage. I scheduled a 12:45 p.m. pickup but didn’t arrive until 1:45 p.m., so I won’t fault the pastries if they weren’t piping hot.

Colossus Bakery on 2nd Street sits near some of my favorite Long Beach spots, like Holey Grail Donuts and Win-Dow. I ordered three items: a cardamom bun, kouign amann, and pecan sticky bun, eaten in that order, which also reflects my ranking.

The cardamom bun was delicious: the spice came through without overpowering the pastry. It was denser and doughier than the light, airy pastries I usually favor, but still excellent. The kouign amann was similarly dense, though each bite had a satisfying audible crispness. The pecan sticky bun lived up to its sticky reputation with plenty of nuts, though it ended up my least favorite of the three (but still very good).

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my pastries. I imagine they’d be even better fresh or warmed, and I can’t wait to work through the rest of the menu. Colossus Bakery has officially joined my elite Los Angeles/Long Beach pastry rotation. Highly recommended!“

“My roommate decided to try the coffee after hearing about it through a friend in CA (we are in RI). My roommate says it is by far one of the best coffees he has ever tasted. Very aromatic!
