“I must say- I was skeptical at first because I'm so rarely impressed by Thai food. I have the unpopular opinion that it's hard to find exceptional Thai food but LET ME TELL YOU!!! This place is SO GOOD! The panang curry so good, but the tum kha soup was probably some of the best I've ever had. The absolute best dish we ordered was the sizzling tofu!!! Do yourself a favor and give this place a visit for fast service and the best sizzling tofu ever!!!“
“The food was great! We had the papaya salad, fried calamari, lamb curry and pad Thai. This was the first time we got papaya salad with shrimp. The lamb was the best. The Belgian beer was one of the best we have had. The service was excellent. They kept the front door open and it was pretty cold inside. The food also got cold fast.“
“Good. Definitely be going back. Por Pia Sod & Khiew Cheese Tod, Tom Yum Soup w/ prawns, Pad Thai, Som Tum Salad and Gaeng Pa Curry. 6 items tried, 6 items enjoyed, not just by me, but rather a whole family. Small storefront, but adequate parking as it is in a Safeway parking lot.“
“This has been my favorite over the last couple of months. A no frills restaurant with limited menu but the quality and portion size are amazing ! My to go are the woon sen noodles, green curry, pad thai and thai iced tea ! Probably one of the best thai places in the bay area“
“I've been wanting to try this place for some time and I finally decided to when I was feeling sick and wanted soup! I got the coconut noodle soup with tofu & veggies and I got it Thai spicy! I was a little scared of how spicy it might be but honestly, it was not bad. Still, would not advise if you feel like you are sensitive to spice because you can visually see more pieces of actual Thai chilies in the dish. I've since gone back to have this again and it was the perfect comfort dish, like a hug from the inside to help me feel better but fuel me with something absolutely delicious! I also had the Thai tea and it was made perfectly! Not too milky and not too sweet. It's one of the better Thai teas that I've had at any restaurant. This place only offers pick-up orders. I didn't see it on any delivery service. Definitely easiest to just call in your order. The interior is very small and not designed for a sit-in meal. They're always nice and have the orders done a bit faster than the estimated time they give you.“
“Amazing food!! Get the famous Amok, it's the softest fish I've ever had. When we arrived at 6pm (on a Saturday night) there was nobody there which was slightly off putting, but we saw a lot of people getting takeout. After we started eating it was clear the food was delicious and people just weren't feeling the dining room. Honestly, if you can get past the empty floor and dated seats, it's a very pleasant dining experience. I hope more people give this place a shot. It's really great and deserves your patronage!“
“Amazing and authentic Thai food with great service. Recommend making reservations especially during the weekend because the place gets busy. Tons of options for vegetarians - they even make sure there is no fish sauce used if you’re ordering vegetarian dishes.“
“If you have never had Cambodian food then this place is a good introduction. I walked in on a random day and it seemed a bit slow. As I sat down to look at the menu more people started to show. Servers were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was well lit. To test the authenticity I decided on two things, the beef sticks and their sour soup known as salaw machu kreoung. The food came out pretty quick. Normally the beef sticks is accompanied by a papaya slaw or pickled veggies called chrouk. The red cabbage was ok. The soup had good flavor and a hint of prahok, a must have in any Cambodian kitchen. The soup packed a lot of flavor from the tamarind and herbal paste. The fried curry leaves was a nice touch. The soup could have been more sour but that's a personal preference.“
“Great little restaurant in Willow Glen. Service was very good and the food is reasonably priced. We had wor wonton soup , Chinese chicken salad and beef chow fun. The food came Out very quickly and was hot and tasty. Really enjoyed the beef chow fun. Definitely will be back to eat here again.“
“Small but excellent place w really fast service. Authentic tasting Thai food . The egetabels were super fresh and crunchy. Highly recommend the khao soi, the chef was super accommodating to switch out the fried chicken with fried tofu instead. YUM.Vegetarian options: Basil tofu, Tom kha, khao soo, curries, pad thai, pad see eaw and more!“
“We discovered this little treasure by accident. The food was delicious. Disappointed my dish Ocean in a Coconut didn’t come in a coconut shell as described in the menu but perhaps coconuts aren’t in season. It did contain slices of coconut. My husbands mango curry chicken was to die for. Wonderfully sweet chunks of mango.“
“The food here is so fire! My friend recommended this place to get dinner before an event at San Jose Civic, and I'm so glad she did. They were able to accommodate my friend's shellfish allergy and vegetarian diet. I appreciate their effort to ensure she was able to safely eat the food, and removing the fish sauce didn't affect the quality or flavour at all. If anything, the food tasted even better because it didn't rely on one ingredient for its flavour profile. Highly recommend this place and look forward to stopping by again when I'm in the area.“
“Kid-friendliness: Family Owner, ,2nd nature to kids, knowing This owner over 30 years business ,,Go out to dinner with family never leave a child behind .My favorite meal is known as The Same* (order it if like, ask for The Same as your #1 plumber D&J likes.ENJOY BEA,JAY“
“Ordered Thai ice tea, yellow curry and pad kee mau and both were absolutely delicious. This is my 8th or more time coming here and this place beats the best Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. Family owned business and they keep the food bar high. Highly recommended!“
“We decided to try out this place on a whim and I'm so happy we did!We called in ahead of time and the entire order took less 15min. It was a Tuesday night, an hour before closing, and wasn't busy when we arrived. In fact, we were the only patrons. TAKE OUT ONLY - There are no tables inside the establishment, so don't expect a dine-in date night unless you intend to hang out in their back parking lot and eat in your car. One interesting benefit to this restaurant is that they offer you the choice to pick your vegetables! PORTIONS & PRICING - Portions are super generous! Pricing based on quality + quantity is very reasonable compared to other places across the Bay Area.SERVICE - Based on the interactions over the phone and upon pick-up, service was pretty standard. HOUSE PAD THAI ($14) - This was absolutely *chef's kiss* delicious! It was soooo flavorful, and the noodles were just perfect. Ingredients consisted of chicken (which were abundant in quantity and size), carrots, zucchini, bean sprouts, green onions, eggs, and tofu. For an additional fee you can choose other proteins. They even packed the chopped peanuts in a separate container which I really appreciated. TOM KHA SOUP ($16) - We ordered a large and the 32oz container was filled to the brim. This was also amazing! It was still piping hot when we got home and opened it. I almost burnt my lips because it was so hot. It came mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and onions. The flavors were very well balanced. PAD SEE EW ($14) - He ordered it with chicken and shrimp (+$2). I tried a little bit of it and I thought it was just ok. Nothing to write home about. He felt the same. Their standard ingredients consisted of eggs, onions, and carrots. The menu says it comes with broccoli too, but I don't recall seeing any in there.THAI MILK TEA ($5) - It was pretty good. It was sweet though. Like REALLY sweet, if you like that. I'm not sure if the sweetness level can be customized or if boba is offered for an additional fee as I didn't ask. If you're looking for a nice little hole-in-the-wall restaurant, this might be your spot! I'll definitely be coming back to try their other dishes.Don't forget to check-in for 20% off your order! :)“
“Ordered :Pad kee mow : 4/5Thai fried rice : 5/5Spicy fried rice : 6/5Will order again : 5/5 , absolutely. This is currently our favorite thai restaurant. This place is simply amazing for its fried rice, they are the best fried rice we have ever had, and even when we order them gluten-free and vegan, they are miles better than any other place.Hands down our favorite thai place to eat. Downside is that their fried rice are so amazing, we have never had other dishes at this place. The only caveat is that this is small place with limited staff, so if it gets crowded especially with takeout orders, the wait can be pretty long. We had come here on mother's day and it took around 50 minutes for our food to arrive, so best to come here on off hours. Also, the portion is kind of small. Most other places we have leftovers, but the portion size here is about 30% less that the other thai places we have visited.“
“Normally I came here to order pad see ew, also tried tom yum fried rice and pad kee mao, all pretty good. This time I tried the roasted duck over rice, duck portion looked a bit smaller than their photo but pretty tasty, I could eat it without the sauce, it was tender and the skin was delicious, I like the veges (veges didn’t have flavor but ok for me)“
“We walked in for lunch on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The server was friendly, professional and quick. We ordered the Dragon Balls for appetizers which were warm and fresh to taste. For entrees, we got the Chicken Pan Dong, Glazed Duck and Duck Salad. All three tasted great. It was all a bit too pricey, hence the 4 stars. But we'll happily go back here again if we're ever in the area.“
“I had a wonderful time at this restaurant! The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly and informative, making us feel right at home. They even went out of their way to ensure the child in our group had a great experience, providing a fun kid's plate and sprinkles on their ice cream. As for the food, it was amazing! The roti and drunken noodles were particularly delicious - definitely must-tries.Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and warm hospitality.“
“I regret that I didn’t take more pictures of the food we had! They were gone too fast… Everything was so good! Kor Moo Yang picture from google review was actually the thing that made me come to this restaurant. And it was AMAZING! The first Thai restaurant I’ve been that made Kor Moo Yang right!!! I’m so happy and so my husband and his family. Khao Soi Chicken was also good. Atmosphere was great and of course good service from the staffs. ขอบคุณค่ะ ☺️?“
“Excellent flavors in all the dishes we ordered. Tom kha with chicken, pumpkin curry with beef, pad see eew with shrimp and eggplant basil stir fry with shrimp. The sauces were out of this world. Shrimp succulent and perfectly cooked. Only shortcomings are that the beef was a tad tough and the noodles overdone that they were completely broken up… but it was so delicious that it didn’t stop us.“
“Here we have a hidden gem. Simple, modestly priced, nice decor, clean and the best of Thai cooking. Each item with the freshest ingredients. Each item with different tastes. Thinner sauces, not a lot of thick goop. Nice presentation. Easy to park and convenient location. After stumbling on this about six months ago, we take our family and friends here for both small and large occaisions and it never dissapoints. No, we are not in the restaurant business and don't have a clue who owns this. We are in the computer business. This is a real review, not a recommendation from a relative!“
“Siam Taste in Sunnyvale is a gem! My girlfriend and I are regulars, drawn in by the chicken yellow curry and the irresistible spicy fried rice. She loves the tom yum soup, which, like every dish here, is fantastic. Beyond the food, it's the owners that make every visit special. Their kindness and attentiveness ensure a dining experience that's as warm and welcoming as the meals are delicious. Highly recommended to anyone looking for Thai food in Sunnyvale!“
“I got take out, but still rate the atmosphere a 5, because the place is beautiful! I got the 3 item take out for $35 and can’t believe how much food it was. I was hoping it would be enough for two. It was enough for four! I ordered very spicy…..and it WAS!! Cooked perfectly and had so much flavor!!! We’re hooked!!!!“
“This Thai food restaurant tastes amazing & tastes original Thai food, the service of the waitress is helpful and nice, the inside atmosphere is not really convenient because the inside doesn't have big space and is too tight between the table and chairs.“
“Expect Beat thai food in taste but don’t expect good service or ambience. Food is having consistently good taste across all the curries & Fried Rice.Vegetarian options: Red thai curry, green thai curry, Penang curry, basil fried rice, pineapple fried rice, veggie tempura.“
“Chanced upon this hole in the wall kind of restaurant across from SJSU campus, craving for some good Thai food. We ordered Thai Iced Tea, Fried Chicken over Fried Rice, Vegetarian Egg Rolls and the Lamb Curry Speciality all for $59, including a $2 extra for using Amex credit card.Lots of piping hot food, well plated and served by a sweet hostess. If not for the inside run down decor, this restaurant is worth every penny. Like they say, don’t judge a book by it’s cover…food here tastes pretty awesome if you come in hungry!“
“Our family favorite for local neighborhood Thai food. The service is great, food is tasty. My brother will order his panang curry chicken. Great sauce which you put over rice. We like pad Thai or pad see ew beef depending on the day. We also mix it up with a small broth: tom yum or tom kha with squid. We have curry puff (kind of like an empanada) as well as moo yang (BBQ pork). You can order sticky rice, jasmine or brown rice to go with the meal. Do not leave without sharing a fried banana with honey.“
“Solidly good. There was a mix-up on what soup I ordered, but they graciously sorted it out when it was pointed out. The food I rated 4 stars because of a slightly off putting burned taste in the two noodle dishes we got (Pad Ke Mao and Pad See Ew), the drunken eggplant was spot on and the soup (Tom Ka Gai) was very good. Overall I'd certainly come back, as I'd bet the burned taste in the noodles was a one off issue.“
“Always fresh & bomb. Sometimes we order this for work meetings or I pick it up for dinner for my kids & I. This particular location is close to my house however there's no parking. You have to pull up or have someone drive you to pick it up so you can run in. I usually order by phone. Rice, beans, carnitas & tortillas.“
“I can't count the amount of times I drove to Grand Century/ Vietnam Town just to grab Thai Lover. They are located in the food court of Grand Century ( go through the main entrance, make a left to go to the food court, and they're the first one). I would say the have the BEST CRAB PAD THAI.(I have also tried their vegetarian pad thai and their shrimp pad thai. I love them both). The cashier was friendly and nice. She warned me about getting the Pad Thai spicy... their spicy level got me sweaty! Good thing I got a thai tea to wash down the heat (and it was only $4!!)“
“We wanted to eat something different from usual weekend lunch so we went this place and was pleasantly surprised with the aesthetics, very clean, neat and spacious and very beautifully decorated.Coming to the food, there were a lot of vegetarian options. What we ordered was way too delicious to leave behind anything. I requested for warm water and they were kind enough to accommodate it.The soup was just relaxing and the curry puff reminded me of an Indian snack but the best part of lunch was the drunk noodles it was just awesome. So overall the place is definitely worth going back again and again.“
“I had Kra Pao Gai (Stir-fried Basil Chicken) and it was very authentic. I like that they have regular brown rice as an option, and the white sticky rice was great too. The staff here are outstandingly friendly and helpful. Highly reccomended!!“
“A nice and clean little place. The design of the place is set up as a take out place, but it does have several tables inside. Order and pay at the cashier (Counter Service). You can see the kitchen and the cook. They prepare your order, and then the owner lady will wrap it up and bring it to you in takeout containers. Drunken Noodles (mild and with chicken ) - Their signature wide rice noodles with baby corn, green bean, bell pepper, garlic, chili, onion, and Thai basil. I liked the "wok hay" smokey charring of the noodles. The noodles were thicker than normal, which it does say on the menu. It didn't have that spicy chili and sweet taste. But, that's my fault for asking for mild. The chicken is white beast meat sliced thinly. Overall, good dish.Spicy Basil Fried Rice (mild w/pork)- Jasmine rice, green bean, soy sauce, onion, bell pepper, chili, garlic, and Thai basil. This was good. The thinly sliced pork was similar to the chicken; can be dry. Not that it was but...I wish it had some Cucumber slices or tomato wedge included.Thai Iced Tea - standard, good sweetness, and plently of Half & Half. Depending on how you like it, you can ask for probably less.Portion size and price were very good. I'll be back to try their other dishes.“
“We came to Thai Spice on a Wed night. There was no wait and 3 other people seated. They always greet us with smiles, and they are very pleasant. When reading the reviews and looking at the poor quality photos, I think they are getting a disservice. We ordered Chicken Satay and Roti (unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo, so I had to lift one off the internet). The Satay is fresh and delicious. The condiments that come with it are also very tasty. The Roti was warm and flakey. The same peanut sauce that comes with the Satay comes with the Roti. It's thick and not watered down like another reviewer stated. Our entrees were Chicken Ra-Na with Broccoli instead of spinach (the guys favorite-fresh thinly sliced chicken and broccoli perfectly cooked with a thick peanut sauce), Pumpkin Curry - Veggie - medium spicy (always delicious - super fresh and loaded with veggies. The pumpkin squash is cooked so it falls apart in your mouth) hopefully someday it will get back to being served IN the kabocha, ? and Spicy Spaghetti - Veggie - medium spicy (fresh and delicious - think of it as Thai tasty chow mein with lots of delicious healthy veggies and not greasy like chow mein). We ordered white rice and shallot rice. The shallot rice is cooked in the pan with the shallots, so it takes on a crispier texture and darker color. We loved our meal. We didn't appreciate the loud table next to us of two women complaining about the price of the peanut sauce and how they don't eat rice or noodles (not sure why you would come to a Thai restaurant then). But it wasn't the restaurants fault for their lack of situational awareness. We've always loved Thai Spice and have never had a bad meal there or takeout. The pandemic REALLY hurt their business, so please give them a try if you're in the area. ❤️“
“Great experience ??Best place with very affordable prices to have some Thai food in San Jose downtownTried their yellow curry red curry with chicken so tastyTheir pad Thai noodles is goodThai famous Ground Chicken over rice with fried egg is signature dish best taste one need to try excellent dish I personally likedPeople should encourage them ??“
“Delicious food and great service. We were the only people inside and I mentioned to the people I was with that I was cold because I had dressed for warmer weather and 5 mins later I noticed they had turned on the heat for me. It was very appreciated!!“
“Tried this place for the first time. I will definitely be back! I ordered duck curry, excellent but a little on the salty side. Had Tom Yam Kung soup which was very good. Portion sizes are great, lots of menu options and priced very reasonably. The fact that this place has duck on the menu is a big plus for me and they have Thai iced coffee which the restaurant I used to go to no longer has on their menu. Another great aspect was that they actually didn't bring appetizers and entrees all out at once like most Asian restaurants do. I want to enjoy my appetizer without my entree sitting there getting cold. These folks understand this!?? And there were so many great dessert options, I had trouble choosing. There were only two wait staff and they were busy but still were attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place!“
“White Elephant offers a good selection of Thai cuisine, with classic dishes like pad thai and pineapple fried rice, to chicken satay and other fried delicacies and much more. In classic Thai restaurant fashion, many dishes vary in price based off of protein of choice, typically: chicken, tofu, pork, beef, shrimp, etc. The food is well seasoned to my palette—I’m not a big fan of salty food and this hits just about right. I love spiciness that is more than detectable, so while the dishes themselves did not tend to be hot, chili is offered upon request! Both the pad see ew and basil fried rice were good to me and my entire family of five’s taste. The pad thai was a bit lacking, but still quite good. The protein focused dishes we ordered—Fried tofu, crispy fish, chicken satay—were all very good and served with sauces. Slight tangent: My mom had a minor complaint that the tofu was not as aromatic as the tofu she gets from the supermarket, but she’s also an insane chef. Personally, I’m a curry eater and curry they served: I got the red curry—featuring red curry, bamboo, protein (I always get chicken) and veggies. I asked for additional eggplant. This was my favorite, but again I’m a curry fiend and apologist. The curry was deep and rich, thanks to the coconut milk that was very aromatic and fresh—as if the curry was made to order. The eggplant was beautifully braised, soft and custardy. Again, another perfectly seasoned dish that was good both standalone and over rice. On service, we arrived about an hour before closing and dipped into closed hours, but the one waitress was incredibly deft, kind, and patient. My mom is a bit of a hard customer at times, but the waitress was so sweet for taking our order and getting my mom the hot water she wanted. For a restaurant with two staff members, order was insanely rapid. Honestly, the service is on par with the work of a fully staffed restaurant. The restaurant itself is cute and cozy, set up like it’s meant for cozy homely meals to share with a couple friends at a time!“
“Loved the food, as it is authentic and the recipes are consistent with traditional Thai food.Easy to get a table, people are super nice and make at each step an extra effort to make the clientele happy ☺️Great food, nice people- this is my kind of restaurant!Highly recommend!“
“I made a reservation through Google Assist and was glad I did. This restaurant was popular & become extremely busy. The staff was very friendly from the moment we entered & throughout our entire dinner. Food arrived quickly. We ordered The Udon noodle dish with prawns, Green Curry with chicken, brown rice & a side of steamed vegetables. Everything was served hot & was very fresh. They offer several different heat levels. Ours was a perfect heat. Food was full of flavor. All dishes were nicely presented. We didn’t order appetizers but wished we had because they looked so amazing. We felt the portions were just right & reasonably priced. The curries don’t automatically come with rice which is unusual but we still feel it was priced right for the food, service & quality. This would be our “go to” restaurant if we lived there. Highly recommend!“
