Pick up was super easy--they had set up tables with lots of space in between orders and room for social distancing. “The food is flavorful and there are plenty of good options. I haven't tried everything, but the ones I have ordered I have been very happy with. I normally order it to go and they have their own QR code so you can avoid the extra cost that doordash charges. I love the curries, the grilled chicken thighs, and the roti.“

Standouts were the pineapple rice, the vegetable pastries the chicken satay the pad Thai and cooked chicken on a skewer the desserts were great too - little candied strawberries and tiny slices of an amazing cake. We are staff and we were just swooning over the tastes of everything. I want to take my mom to the restaurant now“

“Had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. We had the papaya salad (tum luang prabang) and it was very flavorful although a bit spicier than I would expect. We had the khao soi which was flavorful. We also had the hang leh curry which was my absolute favorite, it was so rich and deep with a beautiful flavor profile. Our waitress was very kind and got me a milk-based drink when she saw me struggling with the spice in the papaya salad. Portion sizes were medium, although a bit on the smaller side. Ambience was beautiful although a bit noisy from the pub next door. All in all, great experience and I will be returning.“

So far everything has been good or amazing. And the servers always explain how to eat the food for the best experience. I stop in every week at least once or twice for a Thai tea. 🤩 This lovely place is the exception. Our host , Sam, knew our vegetarian requirements meant no fish sauce, no broth with meat , and he asked if egg was ok or not, since some vegetarians are ok with egg..

Would be open to trying it again, though it's a bit pricey, considering jasmine rice is a $3 add-on.“

“Papaya Thai is a Bay Area treasure. My wife and I stumbled upon it while looking for a good place to have lunch after running an errand in Newark. We had Lamb Yellow Curry Stew and Pad Thai with Shrimp. The lamb was perfectly cooked in a rich yellow curry with potatoes and carrots. The meat was as tender as you can possibly imagine. The Pad Thai was mixed with a sweet sauce that was slightly sticky, which I like so the noodles adhere to each other. I don’t know if this is traditional, but really like Pad Thai like that.“

“We visited this place on a busy Tuesday night, and it was packed. Please factor in a waiting time when you arrive, as they’re understaffed and orders can take a while. To avoid waiting, I recommend ordering everything at once. The order of service is also random, so we received our jasmine tea after our main course.

Now, let’s talk about the food. The Tom kha soup, pratha with panang curry, pad see ew, pad kee mao and pineapple and basil rice were all fantastic and bursting with flavour. The egg rolls, however, were disappointing. The mango sticky rice was also a good choice.

One thing to keep in mind is that bills often have extra charges. If you notice them, let the staff know, and they’ll remove them since it’s their fault. If you miss it, you’ll end up paying the extra charge.

“Thaibodia is a great spot if you are eating with family or a group. Portions are generous and work really well for family style sharing, so ordering a few dishes is usually more than enough for everyone.

Food comes out hot, flavorful, and consistently good. Nothing over the top, just solid Thai dishes at a good value. We almost always have leftovers, which is a nice bonus.
