“First time here & first time ever trying Ike’s….i gotta say guys, for what the location & food lacked, Darnell, the cashier made up for BIG TIME, what a great guy. Awesome attitude, very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu & just an overall pleasure to interact with (something AI will never be able to accomplish) the place could use better seating & the prices are…well pricey AFFF but it is a damn good sandwich for sure, but damn $4.65 for a bottle of root beer? That’s wild. Again, Darnell made it all much easier to hand over $21 for a sandwich & soda with his awesome attitude. I would most definitely promote the young man asap as from what I’ve seen, he’s very, very capable & deserving of it ?? keep it up young man, with that attitude & drive, you’ll go far in life bud ?? ….Also the young man & woman working with Darnell were also great…very polite, helpful & great attitudes. The 4 of us had a great, brief conversation about the strange quarter I found in my pocket (American Samoa) ….. anyway, the 3 of them make a great team & should definitely be cultivated to be moved up within the company ??“

“Over the past year Lokal has been my absolutely favorite place in LA. If you’re a Venice/ Santa Monica or even marina del ray or Culver City local you have to start regularly coming here.

Not once have I had a bad dish or a bad guest experience. The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food and bevvies are super consistent and have not had one miss on this menu.

Whether it’s an on the go AM coffee, a small lunch burger to refuel me or a cozy dinner sandwich to wrap up my day. This place has been the spot.

The prices are extremely reasonably ( if not the most reasonable in West LA) and again, can’t emphasize the overall consistency enough. Love ya lokal!!“

Sandwich’s were very straightforward.

Ruben with pastrami was delicious- I personally prefer the filling to the edge of the bread.

Italian Sub- very classic flavors and oh so messy.

NG Sub- overall classic sandwiches vibes, could use some seasoning- no need for cucumbers without a bit of salt.

Monster Special was probably my favorite and the most flavorful.

Potato salad- I don’t think the person who came up with this recipe loves potato salad. It could use some love.

“If there’s one place known for Vietnamese coffee, it’s this one. That sweet, creamy, ice-cold brew will keep you wired longer than any energy drink. It’s strong, but in the best way. Don’t even bother asking for less ice because the drink is meant to be diluted. Without it, the coffee is way too concentrated (even their bottled version at Costco says to mix it with ice or water!).

As for the food, their banh mi are always solid. Fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Prices have crept up over the years, but that’s pretty much everywhere now. Still worth the visit.“

“Growing up in San Diego, where Board & Brew is from I must’ve had it countless times growing up. In fact, my high school was just down the street from the Del Mar location, which was the very first location, and I would have that at least once a week during senior year of high school. I still love it just as much today and the flavors are honestly the same today as they were back then which is so refreshing and what makes B&B special. We stopped in today at this Torrance location, and I can say that the flavors are just as good as all the others, and it really brings back a lot of memories every single time I eat one of these sandwiches. There is also a ton of free parking right in front and they do have a small bar inside where you can sit and drink and eat as well. They also have indoor tables as well. I would say it’s one of my favorite sandwich places and I think it’s one of the best sandwiches in Los Angeles. I would highly recommend to anyone and I will continue going back. “I tried their new chicken salad sandwich. It was probably the best chicken salad sandwich I've ever had. It was made with just the basic ingredients chicken, celery, and mayonnaise which I find delightful. Every other place I've had a chicken salad sandwich they've always made it with odd ingredients. Walnuts, apples which for some people I'm sure it work for them. Not for me. So to find such a great simple basic recipe that Jersey Mike's put together I was very happy. There was plenty of meat and the bread was exceptionally fresh. I pray they keep it on the menu.“

I was so sad when the Westwood location closed but this one is run soooo much better than the old one.
